S1.E5: You're a good enough Mom, trust me. (Losing your patience with your kids, Part 3 of 3)

Welcome back to the BraveHer podcast. This episode is part three of a three-part series on how to be more patient with your children (and how to feel less guilty when you do!). The first two episodes are full of really great strategies and mindset shifts, so if you haven’t listened to those episodes yet be sure to go back and listen. Both are full of valuable information.

This episode has information that is the most self-affirming and comforting of the three series. It provides a big relief for moms when we inevitably lose our patience with our kids.

In this episode I share:

  • The value of community, and how it reaffirms that we’re all experiencing and navigating the same things.
  • Some mindset shifts and strategies to help you develop healthy relationships with your kids.
  • Research on what creates healthy, emotionally resilient children.
  • The concepts of “good enough parenting” and “rupture and repair”

If you love this episode be sure to share it on social media and tag me! I’d love to say hi and thank you.

S3.E15: Igniting Desires and Intimacy with Alexandra Stockwell, MD

Welcome back to The Mind Over Motherhood podcast and Happy New Year! I’m so excited to be kicking off 2022 with today’s guest, Dr. Alexandra Stockwell. Also known as the Intimacy Doctor, she’s an Intimate Marriage Expert who specializes in coaching couples to build beautiful long-lasting passionate relationships.

She’s the best-selling author of Uncompromising Intimacy and host of The Intimate Marriage podcast, which I was honoured to be a guest with my husband Ryan.

As a wife of 25 years, she believes that intimacy isn’t compromised, it’s being unwilling to compromise. Because when both people feel free to be themselves their relationship becomes juicy, nursing and deeply satisfying.

And she’s been named one 1 of 30 inspiring women to watch in 2022! I’m so excited that she’s here and am so happy to be sharing this conversation with you!

Inside this episode, Dr. Stockwell and I discuss all things intimacy, desire, pleasure and marriage. (And this conversation is on FIRE!).

While we’re going to try to keep it as clean as possible, we make no promises. So if you have little ones around we suggest you throw in some headphones or save this podcast for later.

If you LOVE this podcast, be sure to leave a 5-star review, take a screenshot and share it on your social media and TAG me @carlycrewe. So that I can say thank you!

S3.E14: (Re-release) What To Do When Things Don't Go Your Way

S3.E14: (Re-release) What To Do When Things Don't Go Your Way

Welcome back to the LAST episode of The Mind Over Motherhood Podcast for 2021! Time really has flown by this year and while 2020 felt like a lot, 2021 was also wild. I'm sure you've experienced many of your own ups and downs from 2021, and I invite you to take some time to celebrate all your wins from 2021 and everything that's happened in your life this year.

In this episode, I share what's happened in the podcast in 2021 as well as some behind-the-scenes for what's been happening for me in my life. I hope it helps to inspire you to dream big and give yourself some freedom and flexibility when it comes to dreaming about your 2022 because I know from experience that so many of the wonderful things that have happened in my life this year weren't even on my radar in early 2021.

I'm also re-sharing a previous episode from the last season of Mind Over Motherhood, that can be so helpful this time of year. It's all about what to do when things don't go your way, as they inevitably do at one point or another. With the holidays it's likely that you had some big expectations, and that many things didn't go your way. With that can come big emotions, like anger, frustration, disappointment and resentment. Instead of getting stuck in the spiral of emotions, use these tips to process how you're feeling, pull yourself out of disappointment and move on to enjoying what is happening in your life right now, even if it wasn't exactly what you expected.

I hope you find this episode helpful and supportive. If you do, please leave a 5-star review, take a screenshot of this podcast and share it with your social media communities. And be sure to tag me at @carlycrewe so I can share my thanks!

See you in the new year friends!

Welcome back to Mind Over Motherhood! This week I'm sharing a re-release of an episode from the last session that really resonated with many of you, and it's especially important to listen to this time of year with holidays here and more time spent among family. This re-play from season 2 is all about how to talk to your family about your mental health in a way that is meaningful and vulnerable but also protects you and your feelings.

I'm having a lot of conversations with women in my community this time of year, about how to vulnerable share about our mental health and authentically connect with the people that we love and with our family members. It can be a really hard conversation to have, but it's one that can also be really impactful on you and your relationships. So if you're taking this holiday season to bravely share with your family about your mental health and to break the facade of perfectionism, this episode is for you. It's full of some of my best tips, strategies and suggestions to help make the conversation go smoothly.

I hope this is a really supportive and helpful episode for you. If you love it, please take a screenshot and share it with your community and your social media! And be sure to tag me @carlycrewe so that I can thank you!

E3.11: What does it mean to trust?

E3.11: What does it mean to trust?

Welcome to the Mind Over Motherhood Podcast. In this episode, we're talking about trust and breaking down self-trust. This is such an exciting episode for me, and I'm sure it will be for you too because so many of us find ourselves wondering "what does it mean to have trust," especially when it comes to trusting ourselves.  Self-evolution, self-growth and expansion need to come from a place of deep self-trust to really blossom.

I'm sharing a bit about what's been going on in my world, our move from Canada to Mexico with our twin 5-year-old daughters and our dogs and the big movement that's happening within my business and community! It's been a ton of changes, and self-growth that's really required a ton of self-trust and trust in the universe. I'm sharing this because I know from experience that when we see what's possible in other women, we're better able to trust, grow and expand in our own lives. Maybe you're feeling some exciting shifts and changes in your life, but you're struggling to trust in yourself or maybe you just want to expand your life ever so slightly. Regardless of your intention, every woman deserves to have a deep-rooted self of self-trust. My hope is that this podcast can help inspire you to expand into your own next level of greatness.

If you love this episode be sure to leave a 5-star review, take a screenshot and share it on Instagram! Don't forget to tag me, @carlycrewe so that I can thank you!

S3.E9: What does it mean to be a Matriarch?

S3.E9: What does it mean to be a Matriarch?

Welcome back to the Mind Over Motherhood podcast! This is going to be a little bit of a different type of podcast, that I'm so excited to share!

In this podcast, I break down what The Matriarch program is and why you should care about being the matriarch in your family. I share a key story about how I realized the importance and value of being the matriarch of my own family and how it's totally changed my life.

I discuss how I see motherhood as a portal that allows us to step into our best most expansive versions of ourselves. This is a view that goes directly against what society has taught us, and I see in so many women that have lost touch with their own intuition, self-touch and power.

If you're even remotely interested in being the empowered, intuitive, leader of your family... then this episode is for you. I really hope that it sparks a flame inside of you so that you feel empowered to embody your own version of your family's matriarch.

Plus I share some really practical ways that you can step into being The Matriarch in your family today.

Learn more about this incredibly exciting new offer, The Matriarch on my website carlycrewe.com/matriarch. Doors close on December 20th, 2020.

S2.E21: How Do You Talk To Your Family About Your Mental Health

S2.E21: How Do You Talk To Your Family About Your Mental Health

Welcome back to Mind Over Motherhood! This episode is in response to a listener question! A few weeks ago asked how they can better talk to their family about their mental health. This is a really important topic because who and how you talk about your mental health matters, not only for yourself but for those around you.

This week you'll learn a framework for how to talk to your mental health with your family, and the dos and don't about how (and if) you can safely disclose information about your mental health to your family and friends. You will also learn some better ways to share about your mental health so that you feel good about what you share.

Everyone wants to feel supported, heard and understood, but your family might not be the best place to discuss your mental health struggles. If you're looking for a safe and supportive community of like-minded women who are also navigating their mental health, then The Eunoia Collective might be exactly what you need.

The Eunoia Collective is my monthly membership program for women's mental health. It's a safe space to learn about how your brain works and how you can best work with your brain to feel good, calm and actually enjoy your life.

One of my favourite parts of The Eunoia Collective is the thriving community within it! If your family isn't a safe space to share your struggles, and you're looking for more support in your life, check it out! You can learn more about the membership and what's included here!

Registration for The Eunoia Collective is currently open from May 27th - June 27th, 2021.

S2. E19: How To Get The Most Out Of Going To Therapy

S2. E19: How To Get The Most Out Of Going To Therapy

How exciting is it that going to therapy is now considered cool?! More and more people are becoming comfortable talking about therapy and going to therapy. As an MD Psychotherapist, I think this is very exciting! So on this week's episode, I'm sharing how you can get the most out of going to therapy.

It's really healing and powerful to have someone - who is objective - to speak to about how you're doing and how you're feeling. Having a therapist you resonate with, gives you the space to ask the questions you're afraid to ask, to get an objective perspective, and to learn the skills you need for good mental health.

Dive into this week's episode, to learn how to make the most out of your therapy, so that you can arrive prepared and not waste time. Whether you've been in therapy for years or are considering it, therapy is something that everyone can and should be doing. We're taught that we should just "figure it all out on our own," but that's not true! You deserve support!

If you're considering therapy, check out my fully virtual mental health clinic, Eunoia Medical. We have a team of female family physicians who supports women in a really holistic way. We combine psychotherapy techniques (like talk therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy), integrative approaches, psychopharmacology and nutritional psychiatry to provide a personalized and comprehensive approach.

E2.9: [Relationship Series] Keeping the Spark Alive After Kids with Kelly Swartz, Erotic Expert

E2.9: [Relationship Series] Keeping the Spark Alive After Kids with Kelly Swartz, Erotic Expert

Continuing on our theme of relationships this week, I had an amazing interview with Kelly Swartz, Erotic Expert and founder of Awoken Beauty.

Many couples struggle to keep "the spark" alive after kids. With dishes, and diapers, crying babies and the never-ending-to-do list, finding time to have sex or be intimate together can feel like one extra unnecessary "to-do."

And many women feel...different after having a baby than they used to. This can change how we feel in the bedroom as well.

In this episode, Kelly and I talked about all sorts of important things around intimacy, sex and relationships after kids.

We chatted about:

  • Why it's impossible for your sex life to "go back to how things were" after kids (but it can still be amazing!)
  • How to nourish your biggest sex organ for more desire + pleasure
  • The fundamental ingredient to a good sex life after kids
