#28 It takes a Village (Part 3: How to recover from falling down)
Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs gives us an illustration of what the human needs to thrive in their environment. One of the basic needs that helped me find a level of success after prison is alive and Belonging. This is the third level from the bottom where the human needs to fill loved and a sense of belonging amongst family and friends. Let’s unpack this in todays episode of you cannot do it alone.

#27 Mindset is Everything (part 2 of how to recover from falling down)
In this episode, you will learn another piece of advice I recommend for those who are choosing to turn their Minor setback into a Major comeback.  Start speaking things into existence in your life. Speak as things WERE not as they currently ARE.  You are responsible for your own story, believe it or not. Be your own author.   "Once you stop believing in your goals and dreams you can kiss them goodbye."  Don't settle for your success because the journey to your bigger goals gets too difficult. One of the strategies I use to further my career and life goals/ambitions is delaying immediate self-gratification.  My life has been built on the premise of patience. My loc journey is an example of this. When I first started this journey it was extremely difficult. The look was horrible and it was very unprofessional at times. I still struggle with the locs and this journey but I am able to see the beautiful end game.  Go back to my earliest YouTube videos to see my locs and how of a mess they were then. #16 African Americans lead Incarceration Rates in the US
Black Americans are incarcerated at nearly five times the rate of whites, new report on state prisons finds By Christina Carrega. We'll be talking about specifically about how to solve the problem more than who to blame. Are you going to complain about spilled milk? Who spilled it and who's fault it is? Who is responsible for cleaning up the mess? I'm not. I plan on doing what I can to clean up the mess and not depend on others to do it for me.  When I speak about the Village and the Tribe, I'm referencing everyone involved in the care and duty to lower income minorities across the world. Let us stop blaming our oppressors and start planning to be the successors. Teach our youth how to win in this game, not blame the referees who are cheating us in the game.   Order your copy of the book Minor to Major: Turning Minor setbacks into Major comebacks" by Jere'My Rankins, MA LPC Follow me on Instagram
