Lets Talk Gordofobia and Body Liberation con Miriam Lara-Mejia @LaGordaFeminista

Watch this episode on Youtube

In this episode, I bring in a special guest Miriam Lara-Mejia to help us release the shame we may have against our bodies.  As someone who has always struggled with their weight, I have been working on my self love journey and I share more about how gordaphobia has impacted my life. Miriam breaks down how our cultura and society play a big impact to the way we perceive ourselves and our bodies. This episode goes deep into rewiring our perception of being Fat/Gorda.

Miriam Lara-Mejia is an educator and mom on a mission to empower parents to raise kids who know and accept themselves and who celebrate body diversity for all. Drawing on her 15+ years of experience developing popular education health materials and her unique multicultural perspective, Miriam uses her platform to talk about body liberation, self acceptance, and bodypositive parenting. She pokes fun at fatphobia in the Latinx community, peeling back layers of trauma, intergenerational violence, and resilience through humor and community. Miriam’s content inspires critical thinking, makes people laugh, empowers the cycle breakers, and breaks down the barriers that prevent people from knowing and accepting themselves.

Your Rights as an Immigrant with Adina Appelbaum | Attorney & Coach

Welcome back to another episode of Mi Riqueza Podcast!

In this episode, I want to empower every child of Immigrants or Immigrant to know their financial rights as an Immigrant. There are so many myths and misconceptions of what you can or can't do financially as an Immigrant and we dive into what YOU CAN do with Adina, Financial Coach and Immigration Attorney.

Adina Appelbaum is an immigration attorney, financial and online business coach, podcaster, blogger, and social entrepreneur focused on empowering immigrant families. The First Gen. Experience with Maribel Francisco | @OurWealthMatters

The First Gen. Experience with Maribel Francisco | @OurWealthMatters

Welcome Riqueza Familia to our first episode with Maribel from OurWealthMatters

In this first honorary episode, we wanted to give y'all a YESSS feel podcast all about the First Gen. experiences we all tend go through. From having entrepreneur parents, workaholism, earning an education, our careers and even discussing traveling as a First-Gen.

Maribel is a daughter of indigenous Purepecha immigrants from Michoacan, Mexico. She is the first in her family to graduate university, work in corporate America, and begin investing in the stock market! Going through life having all these firsts inspired Maribel to create her platform @ourwealthmatters to reach out to other women & immigrants to empower them to begin investing as a form of wealth building.   "Not everyone is lucky to have their parents teach them about personal finance and help them get started in the stock market, so that's what our community is all about!" - Maribel   Maribel posts gems  in English, as well as in Spanish, to increase the reach of personal finance topics to the larger community - even to those that didn't know the personal finance community was a thing.
