MOM #21 : Disruptive Grace | Everyday, Small Harvest | Pt 2
Welcome to today's count of Omer thirty-seven. We are in a new series, Everyday, Small Harvest. We are counting to honor the days leading up to Pentecost/Shavuot. The Omer is a time of spiritual attunement and refinement. We are counting, just like the disciples... daring to trust, embrace, align, and wait for the coming harvest, as we bring in the small, everyday harvest of our inmost being. Let's allow the Holy Spirit to empower, nurture, and usher us into Jesus' Love story through His Love Letters for our reflection. Join me as we decelerate together and unLEARN to learn. ReEducate your HEARt and courageously reThink. Download the Omer counting guide and the Jonah meditation bookmark. Visit: http://bit.ly/mohawkmommablog Let's connect! MOM #20 : Everyday, Small Harvest | Pt 1
Shabbat Shalom! Join me in a new series intro. Every year, we retrace an inner journey by “Counting of the Omer.” It’s a 49-meditation and blessing of transformation within the human soul. But we’re only doing 7-days in this week leading up to Pentecost (Shavuot, in Hebrew). Tonight will be thirty-six days, which is five weeks and one day of the Omer. But we're not counting down. One Rabbi states: "A countdown is when all you have standing between you and your goal is a certain amount of days. When the time passes, the goal is automatically achieved. You’re simply counting down the days to indicate how much time is left.

MOM #19 : Belovedness & Joy
Episode 19 is about looking at our belovedness in light of joy. Before we read and savor Matthew 3:17 in this Lectio Divina unLEARNing adventure, we will take an aerial view to get started and look at the context. Verse seventeen acts as the hinge for the verses that precede and follow it. This door is leading us into communion. Both sides of this door, baptisms, and wilderness will give us greater insight into our belovedness, and it will open us up to look for grace in every square inch of our lives, whether in the wilderness or not. MOM #17 : Belovedness & Ashes
In this unLEARNing adventure, I invite you to pilgrimage with me in the rhythms of Lectio Divina throughout this Lent season. In any given moment Love will address our humanity (our dirt, our ashes) and He will affirm our belovedness, unquestionably. Our belonging is deeply rooted in Jesus’ belovedness and that’s real security and assurance that we can learn to lean into and become more deeply intimate in the dust and in the delightful places of living wholeheartedly. MOM #16 : Self-Compassion RSVP
In this unLEARNing adventure, I invite you to reconsider how you notice and acknowledge the gifts in your experiences with consolation and desolation. In any given moment we have the freedom to choose how we will respond and react to consolation (things that make us feel alive and embraced) and desolation (things that anger us or drain our energy). What we can learn is how to expand our capacity to remember our freedom and our belonging in both those opportunities. Join me as we decelerate together and unLEARN to learn. MOM #15 : Season 4 Begins
I'm back and recovering well as I adapt to the rhythms of thriving despite living with chronic pain from my car collision. Our focus this season is on living in the moment and compassion from the inside out. Join me as we decelerate together and unLEARN to learn. I have lots in store with my tribe for season four! Together, let's ReEducate our HEARts and courageously reThink as we welcome my special guest, my 4-year old daughter, Liberty. We're sitting down with a soul care storytime with the book, "The Three Questions", written by Jon J Muth. It's a story about a young boy who is on a pilgrimage with his three questions. The narrative is adapted from the short story with the same title authored by Count Leo Tolstoy. In this unLEARNing adventure, I invite you to reconsider how you invite and draw in your child or your loved one into their own soul care journey through storytelling and questioning. MOM #14 : Togetherness
In this unLEARNing adventure, I invite you to reconsider how you invite and cultivate togetherness within and without. Your child or your neighbor may have different approaches than you, but they desire belonging just like you. This is good to remember when engaging with a difficult person. Togetherness is a mountain we must all climb in our families and in our spheres of influence. I'm identifying four togetherness enhancers and four that are blockers. MOM #6 : Purim and Brave Esther - Doing it Scared
Welcome to episode six. We are still anchored in Lent, but we're also celebrating the Jewish holiday of Purim, this weekend. Through Lectio Divina, we'll look at a 4-fold, divine template in Luke 22:19, and apply it to Esther's brave, yet scared encounter with God's providence, sovereignty, and control.

MOM #5 : Lent and Spring Holy Days - Unhurried
We are launching season two around these parts. Welcome to another cycle of holy days. We will enter into Lent and the many other Spring holidays, in order to savor the reality of our earnest attachment to our Beloved, Jesus. Because I'm a mom of eight in the trenches of everyday life, you'll often hear my infant in the background. Soul Care is about the real and unvarnished. Nevertheless, rest is part of the program.

MOM #4 : Love Breathe Advent, Part 4 of 4
We are coming to our last Advent breath, Love. As we come together to attend to our souls in the hustle of this time of year, we're pumping the brakes and enjoying the scenery of grace. We'll take deep breaths before, during and after our Lectio Divina time. Our focus is on the unstoppable nature of Perfect Love in an imperfect world. Love is so much more than an action, He's our Beloved God. Our Scripture is from Matthew 3:17, "And a voice came from heaven said, 'This is my Son, the Beloved, with whom I am well pleased.'" Thankfully, the Father's affection is the same for us adopted daughters, as it is for His only Begotten Son. I will return in Spring 2017 for our second series as we fix our hearts on the Passover and the Resurrection and it's eternal implications and applications for our every moments. Shalom!

MOM #3 : Joy Breathe Advent, Part 3 of 4
When you hear our Lectio Divina Scripture reading, I think you'll agree with me that this is such a fitting episode to have included my eighth child, Emerald, my 8-month-old. We are breathing in Joy, as we ponder in this third week of Advent. We are assured that the joy of the LORD is our strength. This joy derives from the heart of God. It is also a fruit of the Spirit. This Messianic joy engages and addresses both delight and despair, they can linger in the same heart, at the same time. Hebrews 12:2 sums it up best, "Because of the joy awaiting Him, He endured the cross". Jesus saw His future joy as a present place to embrace, in light of His suffering. We are empowered to fellowship with Him in His joy whether in celebration or lament.

MOM #2 : Peace (Shalom) Breathe Advent, Part 2 of 4
The Prince of Peace enters into history gifting us with an undiminishing peace. Jesus' shalom is the kind of peace that ushers in a vulnerable baby, an unlikely King who brings completeness through His incarnation. He uses the unlikely, weak and small things to secure our eternal shalom.

MOM #1 : Hope Breathe Advent, Part 1 of 4
In our first week of Advent, let's take a messianic moment to behold a hope associated with living waters. In this first episode, we’ll breathe in a long breath of a hope acquainted with lamenting. You'll take deep breaths to decelerate and savor God, during the Lectio Divina Scripture reading in the book of Lamentations. And you'll gain insight from an interview with my 11-year old daughter, Isaiah. She's not my only daughter, as mistakenly referred to in the intro, but she's the one and only Isaiah.
