You can also follow us on social media for updates @podcast_misfits. In the meantime, stay spooky folks!
The one year anniversary special: it came from the baby Devil’s Balls
Emmy goes out with a bang, telling one of her best-ever stories: The Grunch. You know, it’s that New Orleans-based reptilian-chupacabra-looking ape-and-wolf-sounding cryptid that came from a baby Devil’s balls? Or it’s just a group of inbred, cannibal alibino little people — we’re not really sure. Next, it’s only fitting that, in honor of spooky season and on our one-year anniversary — Steve rounds us out with classic Halloween legends like “The Stupid Babysitter”, “The World’s Worst Stabber” and “The Grandma from Hell.” At least that’s what I think they should be called.

Beans Garlic & Brad Pitt is a Vampire
Howdy Misfits, this week Steve definitively proves that Brad Pitt is in fact a vampire. Watch out for the Brad Pitt is a Vampire blog with all my evidence and visuals! Emmy then takes us down a rabbit hole of her own. Did you know that sea monkey's were invented by the Nazis? I sure as hell didn't. Finally Emmy closes us out with her very own compelling conspiracy about the Lost City of Atlantis.
We're sad to announce that Emmy will be leaving the podcast after next episode. Please subscribe to the podcast for updates. Steve will be keeping the show going on his own with a slightly different format so please bear with me while I figure out the new format of the show.
Sea Monkeys in the Sewers; Canada’s most famous alien encounter; the Moon eyed men
Shotgunning with Satan; the Chicken Coop from Hell
Hey misfits, ready for a cross-country tour of all things spooky? First stop, the Colorado Riverdale Road. Steve takes us through the strange happenings on this street, lt;dr it will take you straight to Hell, or at least to an underground chicken coop. Next up, Emmy takes us away to ~spooky~ Florida for some urban legends (no,
“Florida man” is not one of them, but probably a missed opportunity there). First off, she tells us about the Devils Chair, a place where you can go to drop off your beer if you’d like it #shotgunned by Satan himself. She also discusses a doll, Robert — and strangely enough, the weirdest part of the story is jus how he got his name.
How to Out-Drink the Devil; is Earth just Alien Prison?

The Genius Behind the Velocipastor, Brendan Steere
Howdy Misfits! Get ready for a dino-filled episode as Emmy takes us through the crazy story of spinosaurus — a dinosaur you’ve seen in coloring books, but clearly haven’t really gotten to know. Then, Steve and Emmy chat with with the man, the myth, the legend: Brendan Steere, writer and director of the cult film sensation, Velocipastor! We talk about pastors turning into paper mache T-Rex’s, the low-budget film industry, and so much more. Don’t worry, if you haven’t already seen the film, Steve and Emmy break it down for you at the beginning of the episode. Is Elvis Still Alive? A Pirate Ghost Wedding, and Pinocchio in Space
Welcome back misfits! This episode, while simultaneously recording a podcast and trying to figure out which one of her upstairs neighbors has been playing “smoke on the water” for 45 minutes on their bass guitar, Emmy discusses the age old question we know has been on all of your minds: is Elvis still alive? While some think the King died decades ago, super fans are still holding out hope that he was an extra in “Home Alone”. Not weird enough for you? Try this. Steve tells the story of a woman who married a pirate ghost, and then decided to divorce him a few weeks later. This begs the question, what would a human-pirate-ghost-baby look like? Then, Steve, Emmy and friend of the show Zach round out the episode with a discussion of the hit 1964 classic, Pinocchio in Space — spoiler alert, it’s pretty tough to get through (the movie, not the conversation).

Reptilians in the Airport, Popping and Locking to Death, and Theodore Rex
Heyyyy Misfits! This week the Steve and Emmy listens in to a theater-themed ghost story from one of their listeners, Valerie, that left Emmy freaked out for the next two days. Seriously. Then, Emmy takes us through the legend of the Denver International Airport — complete with Illuminati conspiracies, secret underground tunnels, statutes that kill, and so much more. It’s a doozy. Then, Steve talks about the “dancing plague”, a real life disease that spread through Germany back in the day that had people dancing for months on end. These people truly pop-lock-and-dropped all the way to the grave. Then, Steve and Emmy finish it off with a movie that was somehow worse than Pinocchio in Space: Theodore Rex. Featuring Whoopi Goldberg and a man in a child’s T-Rex costume as the main protagonists, Steve and Emmy conclude that you should only watch this movie if you’re legally required to.

Lumarians and Aliens inside Your Home & Careers Class
Hey Misfits! This week Steve and Emmy actually tell you about something topical — you won’t believe the UFO news coming out of the U.S. government. Then we kick it over to our usual programming to talk about the legend of Lumeria — a “secret” continent that has since sunk under the ocean, containing an entire race of giant humans. Don’t worry, though, these telepathic, 15-foot-tall, four-armed f*ckers didn’t go down with the continent. You may have even seen them living inside a quite popular spot in California, where you can communicate with them through crystals (??)

Birds aren't real, but they did kill JFK. Are we living in a Hologram?
Hey Misfits, we have to settle a very important debate: are you a fork or a spoon person? Choose wisely. After taking us down this rabbit hole, Emmy kicks us off with an age old debate: are birds real, or did the government kill them to get them to stop pooping on our cars? I’ll let you figure that one on your own next time you’re wiping shit off of your windshield. During this segment, Emmy and Steve are also joined by a special guest, Rachel, a friend and adamant BAR (birds aren’t real) believer. Next, Steve takes us through a few wild theories about the universe. Are we living in a hologram? Are you doing something really embarrassing in another universe right now? Steve won’t be able to answer any of these questions, but he’ll sure as hell try.

Werewolves are frauds, and so is your 8th grade science teacher
Heyyooo Misfits! Welcome to this weeks episode where we take you to the ~dark side~. That’s right, Steve recently showed you how to become a vampire, and now you’ll learn how to become a Werewolf. All of us regular humans don’t have to worry, though, because there’s a few easy ways to defeat one — all you have to do is take its pants off. Next, Emmy tells us about the wild world of hollow earth: a theory that there are spooky 15 foot tall monsters living INSIDE of our earth. Yeah, just forget everything your 8th grade science teacher told you about the earths so-called “layers”. Then, to brighten your day back after these spooky topics, Steve and Emmy take on some of our favorite dog tweets from our fellow Misfits! p.s. next time it could be you — tweet at us!

Welcome to Cretaceous Park! Dinosaurs, Paleontology and Dino Cryptids? With Paleontologist Nizar Ibrahim
Get ready for a dinotastic episode, Misfits! This week Steve and Emmy talk to their favorite paleontologist, Nizar Ibriham (to be fair, he’s the only paleontologist we know, but he’s still pretty cool). He tells us everything from how we know what dinosaurs looked like and ate, to his top 5 dinosaurs he would include in an epic Jurassic Park rerun — and it seems he has a serious preference for the carnivores (me too, Nizar). Then, Steve takes us through the legend of Chessie, the Chesapeake Bay monster that is somewhere between an eel and a horse (?) Emmy also dives into the equally as perplexing mokele mbembe, a 75-foot long dinosaur that allegedly lives in the Congo, but somehow has avoided everyone on the region for 65 million years. Sign him up for my hide n seek team. Steve and Emmy cap off the episode with some of the craziest dog laws, brought to you by our new Partner, TailTrax. Tune in to make sure you’re in compliance with these wacky laws! You can learn more about Dino Mania here.

True Ghost Stories, Vanishing People, Hollow Earth and a Hotel With NO PILLOWS! + Sasquatch Ep. 2
Hey hey Misfits! Hope you’re ready for a doozy of an episode. This week, Steve tells us a twisted tale about a double date that turns into a slip in time. Long story short: a few naive friends walk into a hotel that has no pillows and no electricity, and a policeman sends them the wrong way on the “autoroute” (whatever that means). Emmy follows up with a journey of a segment on the 1,600 people that go missing in national parks each year. Some explanations for the disappearances include: Bigfoot, slips into “hollow earth”, feral people and so much more. Emmy and Steve round out the episode with a rousing discussion of Sasquatch, Episode 2! Robot Tom Brady, Bigfoot Hunting & Sea Monsters w/ former Pittsburgh Pirates Catcher Micheal McKenry
Hey Misfits! This episode you’ll hear a couple of interesting stories from Steve and Emmy: two twenty-somethings who went to the pediatrician long after it was socially acceptable. First, Steve kicks us off with a few spooky sea stories. Did a sea monster really attack German submarines off the coast of Ireland during WWI, or was it just an very very elderly dinosaur? Then, your favorite podcast duo speaks with a super special guest, Micheal McKenry, former MLB catcher and current Pittsburgh Pirates Announcer. We covered a lot of ground during this interview — including Michael’s encounter with a hostage situation, the superstition behind a green hot dog named Greenie Weenie, Bigfoot hunting, and nachos. You might even learn a bit about Tom Brady’s robot brain.

Are You a Bad Enough Dude to Turn Into a Vampire? World History According to Ancient Aliens Part 1
Howdy Misfits! This week Steve gives you the run down on everything you need to know about Vampires. Yup, we googled “how to become a vampire” so you don’t have to during your next midlife crisis. Basically, just be a bad b*tch, talk to yourself, or have a third nipple. All the cool kids are doing it. Then Steve talks about Ludwig the Blood Sucker, a Vampire from NYC who may in fact have just been a drunk little person who likes to bite people. Next, Emmy takes us through the wild world according to Ancient Aliens — all you need to know is every prominent figure (from Satan to the Virgin Mary, Buddha, and George Washington) were either aliens or influenced by aliens. Pretty nifty, huh? Source.

Why Your Mom Might be a Vampire; Featuring Guest Dr. Emily Zarka from PBS Monstrum
This week we are joined by a very special misfit: Dr. Emily Zarka, the monster expert from PBS Monstrum! Dr. Z chats with Steve and Emmy about the folklore and origins of monsters, her love of the Vermont Lake Monsters baseball team, her favorite cryptids, and so much more. In fact, she and Steve have both seen a Jackalope — coincidence? Next, Emmy does a deep dive into one of the monsters we learned about during our conversation with Dr. Z, the Manananggal. She’s a badass blood sucking half-woman and half-bat, who just happens to lose the bottom half of her body each day at dusk. Talk about a rough night! Steve rounds out our strange-being-centered convo by telling the story of the McGuire Space Alien — basically, some dude panicked and shot an alien on an airplane tarmac, but the ET was never seen again. Spooky!

Welcome to the Freak Show: Real Horrors of the Circus, Clowns and More
Hey Misfits, get ready, because this episode is a bit ~spooky~. Emmy had nightmares for about 3 nights after recording her segment on killer clowns. You may know about the most infamous clowns like John Wayne Gacy, but have you heard about the Killer Clowns from Outer Space? How about the college campus killer clowns, or the mysterious love triangle of a husband’s scorned clown lover? Afterward, you’ll hear Steve chat through some freaky freak show performers, from Jo Jo the Dog Faced Boy to the Fiji Mermaid, and so much more. You’ll also hear about the crew’s personal experiences with freak shows, like Emmy’s trip to see the very underwhelming “World’s Smallest Horse”.

A Squonking to Remember: Bigfoot Kills 10 at Applebee's and Steve's House is Haunted
Happy April Fool's Day, Misfits! Steve and Emmy have a wild journey of an episode for you tonight. Before we dive in, Steve tells us that his creepy attic bedroom might actually be haunted by two ghosts; and Emmy has been afraid of the dark ever since. Then, Steve tells us some wild just-released Bigfoot and Jersey Devil Attack News, one of which took place in Emmy's favorite restaurant of all time: Applebee's. Emmy keeps us on the topic of cryptids with the story of the Squonk, a creature so ugly it dissolves into a puddle of tears every time someone looks at it. Sounds like me in middle school. Don't feel too bad for the Squonk though, because we're pretty sure he's still in line with the rules of White Boy Summer (WBS) outlined by Chet Hanks -- you have to listen to make sure you are too. Lastly, Steve caps us off with a topical discussion of the history of April fools day, and some pranks that just went totally wrong. Watch out, this April 1; Emmy might just put Vaseline on all of your door handles.

A Virgin Kraken, a Drunk Snake-Throwing Bigfoot, and Rob Gronkowski Walk into a Podcast
Hey Misfits — Be careful, Steve and Emmy each had a BEER while recording, so this episode contains some hot takes. First, Steve tells us some crazy Cryptid stories — like the time Bigfoot threw a snake at a woman’s car (spoiler alert, that’s the whole story). Then, Emmy covers the legend of the Kraken, which Steve and Emmy discover is somewhere between the size of a football field and a school bus, but we’re not really sure. Then, things get steamy as Steve reads the review of his new favorite book — “A Gronking to Remember”, a football-themed erotica novel that has more nuance and class than you could ever imagine. You know the author from her more popular books, “I don't care if my best friend's mom is a Sasquatch, she's hot and I'm taking a shower with her” or "I don't care if my sasquatch lover says the world is exploding, she's hot but I play bass and there is nothing hotter right now than rap rock"— so clearly her Gronk book is one you don’t want to miss.

Whats the Deal with Cursed Triangles? The Bermuda and Bennington Triangles, UFO news, and murder
What shape are you most afraid of? Rhombus, sphere, octagon? For Steve and Emmy, it’s gotta be the triangle. This episode, Steve talks about the infamous Bermuda Triangle, including the region’s most famous disappearances. Then, Emmy takes us through the less-known but still super spooky Bennington Triangle, located in Bennington, Vermont — this place has Bigfoot, UFOs, murder, you name it. This episode, you’ll also hear about how Emmy’s friend somehow lost 13 chickens on an island overnight, how photographs work (spoiler alert: Steve and Emmy have no idea), the strange UFO news of the week, and so much more.

Do you know what’s real? Time travel, false memories and cryptids ft. They’re Terrified and Tipsy
Howdy Moosfits! Or is it Misfits? This week’s episode will have you questioning what’s real and what’s not! First, Emmy takes us through the age old question: are the writers of the Simpsons time travelers, or just really f*cking smart? Then, we play the “guess the cryptid” game with the lovely ladies from “They're Terrified and Tipsy Podcast”, where we all have trouble naming the difference between a cryptids other strange creatures like Pokémon, dinosaurs, mops.....(?) Then, Steve discusses the Mandela effect and our collective false memories — from celebrity deaths to “kit-kats” and the “Berinstein bears”. Oh, and Steve also takes us through his *real* Pokémon tier list — and Emmy doesn’t necessarily agree with all of his choices.

Jesus vs. Santa and Margaritas with the (Jersey) Devil, Ft. Campbell McLaren, Founder of Combate Americas and the UFC
This episode Steve and Emmy chat with the legendary Campbell McLaren, the mastermind behind the UFC, Combate Americas, Collegehumor, and pretty much anything else violent and/or funny. Campbell tells us about his dream fight (Jesus vs. Mohamed and/or Santa), dives into why the Comedy Store may not actually be haunted, and reveals how he really feels about big names he’s worked with in comedy, like Joe Rogan and Larry David. Aside from this great interview, you can hear the most scathing restaurant review of all time from Emmy — and then Steve wraps us up with a run-down on the Jersey Devil. Turns out he’s only got one hand? Oh, and Steve and Emmy launch their idea for a Margaritaville themed podcast. No sponsorship from the restaurant chain, yet.. but ball’s in your court Margritaville. Just sayin’. You can check out Bigfoot the Movie on Amazon.

Yetis UFOs and the Dayatlov Pass Incident Solved? Is Holy Land USA Haunted? And Ep 12 of Kid Nation
Hey Misfits, buckle up because this ones a doozy. Heard about the Dayatlov Pass incident in the news recently? Basically, some hikers were mysteriously found dead in Russia, and no one really can figure out why. Steve takes us through some of the most popular (and unpopular) explanations — from Yeti attacks to government cover-ups, undercover agents transporting nuclear waste, and more. Emmy keeps this episode spooky, turning to the abandoned Christian-themed theme park in Waterbury, Connecticut: Holy Land USA. This allegedly haunted, abandoned theme park features murder, vandalism and ghosts. Fun! Then, your two pals Emmy and Steve cap off the episode with a conversation about Episode 12 of Kid Nation — it’s the second to last episode and we’re getting nostalgic! CONTENT WARNING: This episode contains talk of death and sexual assault. If you’d like to skip straight to our Kid Nation segment, start at 58:40.

Then we dive into an interview with a very special guest, Zak Kuhn! Steve Sees a UFO, Dr. Love, Inuit Folklore, and Kid Nation Ep. 9
What a week, Misfits! Emmy and Steve are comin’ in HOT with their first episode of 2021. First off, Steve tells us about his very first UFO experience (or should we say UO experience: we’re not sure if it was actually flying). Then, Emmy dives straight into ~ Dr. Love ~, who is, in fact, not a porn star but rather the infamous 17 year-old boy who somehow conned his way into being a successful, albeit very much illegitimate, medical doctor. Next, Steve takes us on a wild ride with some Inuit folklore. Moral of the story? Don’t hang out around Arctic waters, or you might get snatched up by a disturbing “tickle monster”. Finally, we finish off the episode with Episode 9 of Kid Nation, where there are some SERIOUS divisions within the Town. If you like Weird Al and/or craft beer (c’mon, you have to be a fan of at least one of the two), check out our friends at the Beerd Al podcast. Steve will also read you an Amazon review of the worlds most evil gummy bears — they’re a great holiday gift for your enemy, or if you just like to watch the world burn. Then, we wrap up with Episode 8 of Kid Nation: the one where the kids put out an epic talent show filled with mediocre Shakespeare monologues, bird calls, erratic dancing and more.
Remember to check out Brian’s website, ghostquest.net, which is the largest online database of haunted locations in the United States. How to Survive a Gator Pit, Featuring Micheal Womer The Gator Crusader, Sexy Krampus, and Ep. 5 of Kid Nation
One of our favorite Misfits, Michael the Gator Crusader, joins us on this very special episode! This experienced alligator trainer and conservationist tells the wackiest stories this week. Falling into a pit full of gators and living to tell the tale? Been there. Getting married in an alligator enclosure? Done that. After the interview, stick around because Steve and Emmy keep with this month’s holiday theme and talk about one of Emmy’s all-time favorite topics: Krampus! Don’t be naughty this year or he might leave a potato in your shoe. Lastly, these two finish it off with episode 5 of Kid Nation — there’s an election in Bonanza City, and it’s a real doozy. Yup that’s right, you’re going to hear about all 13 of these mischievous little f***ers, from Sausage Swiper and Gully Gawk to Doorway Sniffer and Meat Hook. Steve also tells you about the Gävle goat, a giant goat monument that has a habit of getting burned down by drunk Santa’s and Gingerbread Men every. single. year.
