Sometimes I feel like an observer of others and of myself. One thing I have been observing the last year or so is something I have been calling the ‘dark side of the light’. I have been watching so many people (including myself) and scenarios of people in the healing community or in the ‘light worker’ community seem to work from their shadow while somehow thinking they are still doing work from a safe and light place. It’s a bit of a mind game, but it’s made me want to speak about ways that this is happening. I believe that greed has overcome so much of how we show up in the world, and not by choice for most of us. . The topic of mental health & addiction can be tricky. A lot of it could be left to the doctors and professionals, which I don’t claim to be, but I feel like most of us can talk about it freely since it probably affects someone in our life in some way, if not us personally. In this episode I open up about how my mental health has been shaped over the years and how I have learned what is hereditary and what stemmed from my environment. I talk about working in the service industry and what challenges can arise when we are wanting to change or manage the crazy and difficult lifestyle we can lead. I talk about how having a strong support system is crucial during these times in our lives and how a lot of times, we really don’t receive it. Casting judgment and the fear of being judged is an interesting cycle for a lot of us. How can we break this cycle? How can we help support others when they need us the most? ‘An easy way to eliminate the fear of judgment is to really know that others won’t be judging you. In this episode, I talk about speaking up, and why it is so important. It is important for everyday communication, having difficult conversations and making sure your voice is heard when it comes to things you feel strongly about. Words are powerful and using them in a constructive way can create movement and change. Learning to use our voices and speak out about things that we are passionate about can create a ripple effect in others to do the same. Words carry vibrations and how we send them out can make a massive difference on the way people feel. Talking about how we are feeling can curb anxiety and release negative energy. Remember, if you see something, say something. Trust your gut.
