Miss Connection

It's Joel's last day on the show, and Sally and Joel receive questions from fans, updates from previous callers, and...a call from someone from the past. Sometimes, the connections you already have are more important than the ones you've missed.

With Joel away, Sally is on-air flying solo and is feeling vulnerable as she reveals a past heartbreak. Caller Janina shares the story of her obsession with the postcards she received from a mysterious stranger traveling the world.

As Sally comes to terms with Joel leaving the show, she is caught unaware with an update about someone from her past. Caller Patch shares her story of an odd-couple surprise island fling.

DJ Sally has a difficult time accepting DJ Joel's decision to leave the show, and it brings tension to their relationship. We hear from Jen, a former OFW at the crossroads of an uncertain future, who received the proposal of her life while waiting for her flight.

This double-story episode tells us that sometimes, the most unlikely person to make you feel a little better is your next-door neighbor. Single father Tony eases his worries about his sick daughter through a quirky old woman who can't get enough of cassava. Lawrence, a bachelor, encounters a messed up neighbor who plays love songs too loudly. Meanwhile, as Sally raves about the show's success, Joel is growing distant.

They say acads is life, but sometimes, crushing on someone is lifer. Our caller Mae spent weeks in the library hoping to study--and ended up quietly observing a boy from afar. Sally poses a question to Joel: can you have a connection with someone you've yearned for only at a distance?

PJ of the local indie rock band Chasing Bunnies narrates his story about a fan who helped him learn to be honest to himself. Sally and Joel share some of your submitted recordings of missed connections, too.

Radio DJs and buddies Sally and Joel kick off Miss Connection with a story of a shared ride between two strangers one rainy Carmageddon Friday in EDSA. Caller Maria tells us about her friendly encounter with a boy and the sparks that might lead to "forever."
