What a refreshing week on tour. Narrow and firm fairways, lightning fast greens and thick juicy rough to protect them. It was epic seeing the players struggle so much and to see every part of each player's game tested to the max. IT was also wonderful to witness Tiger's return to action as we gear up for major & Fed Ex Cup play-off season!
Bryson DeChambeau ran away with the W in Detroit this week and did so in a very impressive way, finishing on a mammoth total of -23. High Bombs & Made Putts were the them of Bryon's week, a winning formula for any player.

Wow. We are so privileged to be able to give you and 3 friends a free 4 ball at the famous and majestic Pasatiempo Golf Club. Ken Woods joins us to talk all things Pasatiempo and my word is it good! Wikipedia could not put this better: 'Pasatiempo Golf Club is an 18-hole golf club on the West Coast of the United States, located in Pasatiempo, Santa Cruz County, California. Designed by the famous English architect Alister MacKenzie, the course is famed for its breathtaking scenery and rich golf history.' We talk all things Pasatiempo and delve into Ken's career, his round with Nick Faldo, junior Golf among so much more! A truly educational and inspiring podcast that tells the story of a truly historic and defining Golf Course. Thank you for stopping by, Seb. What struck me most about Seb was his unwavering passion and honesty and they are 2 values I treasure so much. He talks at length about his journey in the games of Golf and Football and how the pursuit of his passions has led to a very fulfilling career being involved in the day to day of the finest sports to ever be invented! We go right from Seb's Golf origin story to how his partnerships have garnered so much opportunity and good times. Seb was so right to point out that it's not always as easy as it may seem and stresses the importance of hard work when pursuing your passions and consistently drives home just how grateful he is to lead the life he does. Among some football, e-sports and golf chat, this made for a very informative podcast full of knowledge bombs. If you did get any value, nation, please subscribe, review and share!
Always a pleasure to chop it up with Sam! This week on Tour Talk, we discuss the latest amendments to the PGA Tour schedule and the impact that could have on the Ryder Cup teams. We also discuss who we might think will contend at this year's majors, with some very interesting venues and layouts to be considered. The last time the US Open was played at Winged Foot, the winning score was +5! Please, if you got any value at all, please review, share and subscribe! Thank you, Nation!
Wow. Thank you, Paul Tesori and welcome to the JJ Nation. The PGA Tour Caddy veteran joins us for 80 minutes of Golfing gold. From his introduction to the game, life on the bag for Vijay Singh, Sean O'Hair and now Webb Simpson, major championship stories, Presidents Cup Stories, Tiger stories, the conversation is just bursting at the seams with inside information, education and inspiration. The life on the bag for a major winner and player ranked 9th in the world is fascinating! Once again, I am so in awe of the connection between the PGA Tour and charity. The Paul Tesori family foundation has been in existence for 11 years now and aims to improve the lives and opportunities for those born with special needs. If you got any value at all, please subscribe, like, share, review blah blah you all get it by now, nation!
Check out Paul's foundation below:
If Golf really does make model gentlemen, Len is a shining example of that being true. It was both a privilege and an honour to be able to sit an speak for an hour with Len Mattiace. Len is an incredibly successful PGA tour Golfer winning 2 times, reaching top 30 in the world rankings and coming 1 play off hole away from that coveted green jacket. Len talks us through his childhood, which reveals a lot about what made him successful on Tour. We delve heavily into his career, wins, near misses and some epic stories from his time out on tour. Len is also extremely passionate about charitable work and set up The Len Mattiace Foundation some 20 years ago. The Len Mattiace Foundation is centered around a common theme in Northeast Florida: the well-being, growth, and safety of the kids in their community. Through the game of Golf and a Stop the Bullying Campaign the foundation is able to positively affect thousands of kids close to home. We then round off the conversation with some quick fire questions! Len, thank you for your generosity, work ethic and passion to give back to your community. There's so much we can all learn from him on this episode both on and off the course!
Visit https://www.lenmattiace.com/foundation to learn more!
Tour Talk is so fun to do. Yes, there's not much tour to talk of lately but we've had a blast taking a trip down memory lane. Additionally, we've had the chance to explore the amazing variety of courses on the Forelinx roster. This week, we focused on the beautiful state of Arizona, where Sam gives his hot takes on some stand out Golf facilities to help ensure listeners know where to head! Among some shit talk, 2019 Tour recap and Arizona Golf, we had a blast on this informative and easy to listen to episode! Please, Nation, if you got any value at all, you know what to do!
What a privilege it was to sit down with Mark McDonnell, the co-founder of Modest Golf Management with the wildly successful singer/songwriter Niall Horan. Mark talks to us in depth about the world of talent and athlete management and what it takes to make it at the highest level. We discuss some of his clients and their success from Tyrell Hatton, Guido Migliozzi, Christian Bezuidenhout to Richard Mansell and Jayden Schaper. It was extremely insightful to understand the vision Mark, Niall and the team have for Modest Golf. Given their strong affiliation with the entertainment industry, Modest Golf are also beginning to innovate in the event space to help make this game more accessible. Additionally, they've done some excellent work in the charity space and are hosting their 3rd annual ''Horan & Rose" dinner later this year. This is a very inspiring episode for those wanting to break into the industry and Mark offers some excellent words of wisdom and insights that I'm sure you will all gain some value form. I'm over the moon to welcome Mark to the JJ Nation and look forward to continuing the relationship. Again, guys and gals, if you got any value at all, please share, subscribe, review etc ect!
3 time PGA Tour winner, Scott Stallings, joins us on what was one of the most enjoyable and informative hour long conversations I've ever had. What an episode! We start with Scott's introduction to the game before progressing onto his burst onto the PGA Tour with a rookie season win at The 2011 Greenbrier Classic. We discuss his successes on tour and some reasons for that before delving into his struggles with his health and the fine balancing act between starting a young family and remaining competitive on tour. The conversation then moves into how Scott overcame those struggles with a new perspective on health and well being and he shares some great stories around his close friend and 'world's fittest man' Rich Froning. Sprinkled with Tiger stories, a discussion on how to develop yourself mentally and some quickfire questions towards the end, this episode is simply bursting at the seams with value from both an educational and entertainment standpoint. Scott could not have been a more passionate, forthcoming, generous and inspiring guest. Welcome to the Nation, Scott and thank you! If you guys enjoyed this, please review, share, subscribe blah blah
Grip It & Sip It is the new Golf quiz series brought to you by Just Jaks Golf! The concept being take a pen, pick your poison and relax with some fun and stimulating Golf related trivia. This is the pilot version so only 10 questions long - all answers delivered after all the questions have been read out. We sincerely hope this is another sign of us trying to continually deliver more value. Please please do give some feedback on this, we just want to get better and improve our product. Thank you, JJ Nation!
The new major season has been set and my word, it is the most juicy looking and packed July-November you ever did see. We discuss this, the top 5 courses in California on Forelinx's roster and of course, given it's Masters week, the historic 2019 Masters win for TW aka El Tigre aka GOAT aka Eldrick aka TIGER! This was such a fun episode, filled with knowledge bombs all episode long. Cali listeners, you guys will get even more value out of this! Thank you for listening, Nation!
This was an insane episode. Colt Knedler, the extremely talented Golf videographer from Hawaii, takes us on a journey discussing his hole in one experiences, time working with Erik Anders Lang, his time at Fox Sports, his early Golfing career, his favourite Golf travel experiences, current work at Vice Golf and also the interesting shift in perspective having now experienced a lot of Golf through a lens. Colt is so passionate about the game and brings so much energy to the episode. Poignant sentiments are a regular occurrence and he is not short of a story or two, that is for sure! Thank you, Colt, for sharing your wild Golf experiences that have spanned from Hawaii to Iceland, Scotland and beyond. There is so much value here for listeners from both an entertainment and educational perspective. If we can learn a couple things from Colt, it's to pursue your passion at all costs and don't be afraid to evolve your perspective. Thank you so much for listening, Nation, it means the world!
Colin McCarthy joins us again to help improve your game. Now his 5th episode with us, he's becoming a bit of a hit among listeners. In this episode, we discuss all things course management and how it's perhaps the most overlooked part of your game, which is crazy. If you improve your ability to manage the course, you will see your score improve so much! Enjoy, Nation! We hope you get a tone of value.
Another varied episode to say the least! We begin with that little thing called the corona virus and the effect it is having now and will have in the future on our beautiful game. We then discuss the 2015 Masters and the emphatic way in which Jordan Spieth started his life on tour. We discuss his ups and downs to date and what the future might look like. That led us into going back and forth on what it really takes to be great and talk about how great he can be. We then end the episode with some fun questions, 1 Masters or winning the other 3 with no green jacket? etc... Once again, we sincerely hope you're enjoying it and would love any feedback! Please share, subscribe and review if you got any value at all. Much love, Nation!
Any Podcast that starts with Daft Punk is going to be good. No Tour = no events to discuss. However, we discuss the career of Dustin Johnson, the 1998 Masters where Jack Nicklaus famously had a run at 58 years old and our strong thoughts on the PGA Championship. It has potential, but needs to get better, right? Enjoy, Nation. Another episode down and loving every step of the journey.
I first started noticing James around 6 months ago on LinkedIn and he immediately caught my attention. To convey your honest, sincere and well substantiated views and opinions on a LinkedIn platform where most consumers are at least 10 years older than you takes a lot of heart and guts and it's those exact traits that we need in our Golf industry. We need mavericks who view the game differently, who have new and interesting ideas on how to benefit the game, but who are also able to do so tactfully to help breakdown the cultural divides and conflicts that exist in the mass game. James does a fantastic job of this. In his position, James helps golf clubs acquire members and so is directly involved in the nuts and bolts of the industry. We discuss ideas on how to break down cultural barriers, how to make Golf more accessible, what stale smells linger in the game as well as some general back and forth as to why this game means so much to us both. An episode with a ton of value of players, clubs and whoever else with Golf on their mind. All opinions delivered on this episode are with the best intent behind them. We aim to make this game more fun and relatable, but also to help build an inclusive and collaborative community that will help drive the growth and enjoyment of this game. Much Love, Nation!
We named this episode 'The Adventures of Lie + Loft' for good reason. Luke's journey in Golf has been nothing short of adventurous. We discuss Luke's rad introduction to the game at the tender age of 18 months on an airfield in Spain, his sporadic obsession with Golf, his introduction to the Golf industry, why and how he started Lie + Loft and of course, the epic 900 mile, 19 Golf Course Pacific North West Cycle, Golf and Camp trip. The latter being my personal favourite. Everything you need to know about Luke and L+L can be found in this story. At its core, L+L is an experience focused brand aiming to merge Golf and home. The consumer is at the forefront of everything the team does and has led to an impressive display of products and services from prints to caps and now, Golf camping trips. Luke is such a genuine guy with an amazing brand and purpose and I think his story can serve as a reminder that we can all pursue our passions and create meaningful careers that stem for that pursuit. Season 2 continues to bring the goods. If you got any value at all, please like, share, subscribe, review, get naked etc etc blah blah. Much love, Nation!
Ok, the Tour is off for now, but that won't stop us. We take a trip down memory lane as well as Magnolia Lane! We start off discussing the benefits of Golf in this adverse time and how we can use Golf to help us. We go deep on Jordan Speith, his highs and lows, special nature and debate whether we think he can get back to his old self. Sam then beautifully takes us to Augusta National in 1986 to remember that special win for Jack Nicklaus. He had been written off and started the tournament in average fashion and couldn't make a putt for love nor money. But the weekend brought the Golden Bear back out of hibernation and the rest was history. We loved recording this and hope we continue to bring nothing but value to you. Once again JJ Nation, if you got any value at all, please help us get in front of more people. A subscribe, share or review will go a long way to help! Much Love, people!
Penmar Social Club. Wow. I have nothing but huge respect and admiration for what Garrett and the crew are creating. A club totally dedicated to the Golfing experience. It was out of Penmar Golf Course in Venice Beach, California, where Penmar Social Club was born and calls home. They exist to collaborate and enjoy Golf however they see fit, constantly iterating on or altering what rules they play, how tournaments are structured etc with a good time for all being the goal always. Players of all abilities are able to come together, learn from one another and become a part of a supportive community. We then take a dive into Garrett's favourite ways to enjoy Golf and some memorable experiences he has had over the years. Keep up the inspiring an community driven work, man! Once again, if you got any value, please review, subscribe and share! Season 2 continues to deliver :) The 1986 Masters recap up next for episode 5! #JJNATION
Fun Fact: Harrison Ford once crashed his plane at Penmar Golf Course!
Sam joins us again to talk all things PGA Tour! This week we discuss Rory McIlroy’s current form and what we think is in store for him this season. We then dive into this week’s fantasy picks and hopefully make some better choices than last week! Again, we hope to educate, inform and entertain on all things PGA Tour! We close the show out discussing the PGA Championship and how to grow its prestige. Of course, the corona virus comes up and we discuss the potential effect it may have on this year’s PGA Championship. If you guys got any value at all and enjoyed this, please do leave a review, it helps massively. So excited to continue this partnership with Forelinx and the value it’s creating for our listeners. Penmar Social Club up next, nation!
We were so excited to welcome Sam, founder of Cut Golf, back to the mic. Since we last spoke, Sam has taken Cut Golf to a new stage of its journey. Cut Golf has officially landed in Europe. Due to so much success in the US market, Sam has decided to take the best god damn ball under 20 bucks over the pond. We discuss teething issues of a growing business, new products, further growth plans as well as some Tiger Woods admiration time! This episode is full of value for entrepreneurs and golf lovers alike so be sure to pay attention. Their growth is admirable and their continued passion to become as consumer centric as possible is inspiring. To celebrate their recent UK launch, we are giving away a dozen cut golf balls, cut golf snap back as well as the brand new Cut Golf polo! Please see our IG for details of the comp. Again, JJ Nation, if you got any value at all, please share with a friend or leave a review. Make sure you're all subscribed! Season 2 is set to dominate!

Roll on Season 2 and thank you all for supporting Just Jaks Golf!
This is the most talented content creator we have spoken with. Hands Down. Thomas is incredibly creative and is to be commended for the work he has done in the last 18 months for Erik Anders Lang. Erik is perhaps the man leading the way in Golf content and community building and his videos have been instrumental in building this. It's Thomas's ability to stay creative and think with the end consumer in mind that has led to his success and poignant product. We discuss what it means to work in Golf, how he stays creative, what the future holds as well as the current state of Golf and the noticeable culture shift particularly in So.Cal. What struck me the most is when Thomas talked about 'breaking the 4th wall'. By this he means, how can he best utilise the footage to tell a story and put the consumer in the video. This truly says it all. Thomas creates experiences and paints Golf in new and interesting ways. And to do that, with a large and growing audience, is so impactful you cannot begin to describe. Such an interesting podcast and tonnes of value in there for any creatives or Golf nuts. Thank you, Thomas.
Where do I start?! We are honored, privileged and quite frankly, very excited to announce the show's new official lead sponsor. Forelinx is a complete golf platform that rewards you the more you watch and play golf. It is also the best way to book tee times and play fantasy golf. With Forelinx Points, you can book tee times, shop a member only marketplace and play fantasy golf. A Golf currency if you will. We spoke at length about the vision of Forelinx and their passion for making the game more relatable and accessible. We also discuss their new platform at length, where you are incentivised to watch and play Golf. Danny is a true visionary and is bringing so much value to the industry with both his outlook and product. Speaking with Danny enabled us to think customer first and how Golf is and can be consumed in a 2020 world. Enjoy, Nation! This one was special. We cannot wait to work with Forelinx and bring you listeners more value.
What is up everyone?! What an amazing episode we were able to bring to you this week. As you may have seen on Instagram, we have collaborated with Rams Hill Golf club to give away something special this Xmas. 2 rounds of foresomes Golf and an overnight stay at the house on the hill. Darin Bunch is the Managing Editor of Golf Trip Experts (GolfTripX.com), Marketing Director for Rams Hill Golf Club and part of the development team on the Pacific Gales project on the Oregon Coast (30 minutes sound of Bandon). He is also co-host of the “Talking GolfGetaways” podcast with his good friend, former actor and comedian Mitch Laurance, available on iTunes, audioBoom! and other places golf and travel fans consume podcasts. We go hard on travel this episode and just how beneficial it can be. Darin talks us through some of California's hidden gems and opens up about his best experiences whilst travelling the world playing Golf. It makes for a very interesting and educational listen for all of us Golf buts looking for the next adventure! Tune in and don't forget to enter the competition on IG! Also, share and review... haha you know the score. Thank you, Nation!
If you want to know how this podcast goes down, the 4 second intro clip will tell you all you need to know. As for the guest... Ever wondered what an alcohol fueled Cuban American who loves Golf is like? Look no further! All joking aside, Idaleo was a real pleasure. He is ruthlessly himself at all times and that is something we champion so much at Just Jaks Golf. We dive deep into his introduction into Golf, the inspiration behind his content and alter egos, his current Golf game and weapons of choice, answer some questions from followers and others within the community and discuss some of the more eventful drunken Golf course stories. The most alarming of which ends with guns! Dale epitomises what it means to pursue your passions. He's trying out stand up comedy currently and is continuing to deliver amazingly funny and unique content. We laugh hard so much on this episode and it may have something to do with the heavy arsehole chat, rape, alcohol, Church and other generally 'off the fairway' topics. If you haven't already, go check him out and if there's one thing to learn from him, it's to do what you enjoy and play Golf in any way that makes you happy. Enjoy, Nation. You know the sore by now - if you got any value, it would mean the world if you left a review or shared with a friend! Thank you.
We loved this one so much! Josh founded Dirty Bird Golf with nothing but passion and a strong desire to bring a unique, fun and customer focused Golf brand into the world. Introduced to the game by his grandfather, Josh has continued to love the game and helps spread the good word. We play a fun game where followers and customers got a chance to get involved with a chance to win a Double Bogey Veteran cap, discuss some important aspects of Golf that have perhaps been lost, the importance of family, some casual football chat, the intricacies of Taser Golf and so much more. Congrats to Tanner Waddell for winning the cap! Josh was such a pleasure to speak with. Balanced, humble and passionate, he drops so many knowledge bombs and we can all learn a lot from him. Tune in for a podcast full of laughs, Golf chat and leanings. What struck me the most about Josh was his ability to champion the etiquette and respectful conduct that Golf brings whilst also ensuring fun is at the forefront of the experience. Put it this way, Josh is the guy who will help an old lady cross the road, buy your post round drinks, wear whatever he sees fit that day and taser you at any possible opportunity! What a guy... Remember, Nation, if you got any value at all, please subscribe, like, share blah blah blah :)
Wow. We talked a lot of shit on this episode. A very poor, inch deep coverage of modern day topics and issues mixed in with unsubstantiated opinions and inappropriate jokes with a careful, 'salt-bae' like confirmation bias. Enjoy! Topics included Tesla, electric cars, veganism, some Golf I think, China's strange cultural abnormalities and a few other equally random topics. Oh, and if you got any value, please review!
It's so refreshing to see a passionate Golfer try and chase his dream of having a huge impact on the participation of Golf in the junior ranks. It's no joke and no surprise that there's a serious issue with the lack of juniors taking up the game. We've talked at length previously about what we can do to reverse this trend and we discuss some new ideas on this episode centered around sparking imaginations and emotions. 'The Adventures Of Gregor The Golf Ball' is about bringing the game to life, setting off fireworks of creativity in a child's head to all the emotions they can connect with in these stories. The interactive nature of it allows the child to interact, connect and own their own narrative. It's this initial connection that Euan hopes will help inspire them to visit their local Golf facility. We also love the adventure focus! It's experience focused and any follower of ours knows we are all about the experience, travels and moments! You cannot knock his passion and concept so please go support him where you can. We would love to hear all you thoughts on this topic too! Enjoy, Nation, and if you have time, please leave a written review :)
Ryan and Jimmy stop by to talk about all things Beer 19! These gents are like no one else. Funny, ambitious and passionate, they were an absolute pleasure to have on and we didn't stop laughing the whole episode even if the joke was on us the majority of the time! Both are loved by the JJ Nation, so we were extremely excited to have them on together. The Beer they have created has been carefully curated to ensure your Golfing experience with your buddies is enriched. And that's what we admire from afar. Jimmy and Ryan just want to have fun and enjoy the company of their playing partners on the Golf course. And that's what their passion of the game is founded on - experience. A Beer for Golfers made by Golfers. The re release of Beer 19 is on the 14th November so make sure you go get yours. They sold 10,000 cases in 42 days on the last drop! This episode also gave us the pleasure of hearing some questions from listeners. Best question won a 6 pack of Beer 19 and an AMP caddy. Thanks, fellas. We're not really too sure what else we spoke about, but we did a whole lot of laughing and piss taking so we're sure you'll enjoy. Please share, review, rate blah blah blah...
A far more practical episode for you all, today. A solid 56 minutes of knowledge bombs from Colin McCarthy! We discuss his most recent Golf trip and why Streamsong is so epic. We then go into how we can all go about improving our putting from picking the correct putter to set up, stroke, mentality, drills, feel and some other really key points. We hope you enjoy these practical episodes on how you can improve your game. We all struggle with putting at some point in our time and it's such a relatable struggle! If you pick up just one small tip from this episode that improves your putting, we're stoked for you! Again, we just want to bring as much value to you as humanly possible. What a pleasure it was to speak with John in episode 51. John’s mission is to tell stories through video of his local courses to help golfers learn about the best experiences in the area. More specifically, Ventura County! We discuss John’s introduction and then reintroduction into the game, the contentious issue of ‘accepted apparel’, how filming skating videos has inspired his editing and filming style amongst some other great topics. An authentic, passionate and humble man on a mission to help share Golf facilities that create amazing experiences. Another story and individual in the the world of Golf we can all take inspiration from and another legend joins the #JJNATION! If you found any value at all, please subscribe and leave a review or even just tell a friend. Thank you all so much for the continued support!
Wil was a real pleasure. He’s new to his role as the director of sales and business development at Rams Hill Golf Club and has hit the ground running. It’s so refreshing to hear of the modern and progressive mentality that Rams Hill has adopted. It’s a breathtakingly beautiful golf course set in the desert of Borrego Springs, California that focuses on experience. Yes, a golf club that goes all in on customer experience. It’s hard not to look at Rams Hill in complete amazement. The contrast of lush green to the sandy desert and the different lighting caused by the suns position in relation to the mountains makes it distinctly beautiful from first light to sun down. It recognises that Golf is a game for all and to be enjoyed in any way they see fit. Wil summed this up so profoundly when he said ‘Golf just needs you to be yourself’. We could not agree more and couldn’t be prouder to help share the foundational thoughts of what we believe makes a Golf facility amazing. With so many other activities in the area and on site from horse riding to BBQing and hiking, this really is an idyllic setting for any type of Golf trip. Of course, we dive into Will’s introduction into the game, our passion for travel and some other interesting topics. If you haven’t already, check out @ramshillgolfclub and message Will to organise your next trip. Rest assured, it will be an unforgettable one. We cannot wait to visit and have definitely been inspired to have more courses and clubs come on so we can help share what’s working in this modern world and what approach or practical steps should be taken to see more people benefiting from the game. Thank you all so much for listening and remember to review the podcast on Apple podcasts by Friday 25th October to be in with a chance of winning 1 of 4 AMPcaddy speakers that we are giving away to help you enjoy your rounds even more!
So we had a real life actor and comic on episode 49 of Just Jaks Just Chat! Chris Spencer was a real pleasure and for added bonus, his coach and legend of life, Ron Del Barrio came along for the ride, too. We discussed their relationship, Chris's Golf experiences with the likes of Barrack Obama, Will Smith and Ray Allen, Tiger Wood's impact on the African American community, his comedy career and so much more. It was so humbling for us to have someone like Chris on the show because he was willing to give up his time to help spread the good word of Golf. It pertains to our mission that if we can get unique and successful brands and individuals talking about Golf progressively and in a new/positive light, we can go a long way to impacting culture and increasing participation in the game by making it more relatable and adventurous. I mean how often is it you have successful comedians talking about their Golf obsession? Of course, Ron was his usual hilarious and authentic self and gave some really poignant opinions on the sate of the game and Golf swing. Thank you so much, gents and thank you to the JJ Nation who continue to listen. We hope we bring you value. Please remember to subscribe, review and tell a friend.
This episode was brought to you by AMPcaddy. For episodes 47, 48,49 & 50, they are kindly giving away a speaker for each to our listeners. All you have to do is send us a screenshot of your review of the podcast on Apple podcasts!
John was such an insightful guest. We go deep on why he started the game and his business. With any good guest, there's genuine intent and that could not have been more apparent with John. After an unfortunate car accident ended his football dreams, a good neighbour showed him Golf and he actually had to learn the game from the green back to the tee with the physical ramifications of the accident! Amp Caddy is a speaker for the golf course that brings more than just music to the course. It brings soul. It sets the scene, gives the vibe and ensures a good time on the course. To attract more guys to the game, we need to help make Golf more causal (at the right times) and Amp Caddy goes a long way to do that. John cares so much about the golfer's experience and that is so evident with the products he produces. Inspired from a BMW spec Golf cart at the local country club, John recognised the want and need for easy access to music on the course. We also vibe hard on what Golf is lacking currently and what it needs to reverse participation numbers. We both got back to the same place. Connection & Experiences need to be held in the highest regard at all times. Hope you enjoy and get some value, Nation! PS Go to iTunes and subscribe/review/share the podcast if you haven't already :)
What a guy. Dougie is at the beginning of his Golf mission and is one of the most genuine guys we've spoken with to date. His goal is simple, to grow Golf through community. His recent 'Why do you Golf?' series resonates so much with us. He asks followers and members of the clan to explain why it is they Golf and has got an overwhelming response with so many varied and unique answers. One of which was particularly poignant. He tells the story of a man who has used Golf to recover from alcoholism which is amazing to hear. We also dive into the current state of the game and discuss ideas or initiatives that we could deploy to improve the game. Hope you enjoy and get value, Nation! If you haven't already, please like, subscribe, review and share with a friend!
What an episode, Nation. It was a pleasure to speak with Chris and learn of his colourful career that has seen him travel from Sunderland in the UK to Portland, Oregon. We went deep on brand and why it matters. Why and how consumers make brand and emotionally charged decisions as well as the current state of golf. It was a conversation that covered so much. Some of you will really appreciate the stories Chris has from his long spell working in the design team at Nike Golf and Jordan. Most of what you see on Tour has Chris's direct influence and it was really interesting to hear the sponsor/athlete relationship and what actually goes into those partnerships. Chris's current focus is Origin Golf Club, an online fashion retail brand that stocks the coolest emerging Golf brands such as Malbon Golf. It's a place where you can find brands that are really trying to be creative and create impact and community. The brand is quickly developing into the 'go-to' place to get kitted out and informed on current Golf culture. We're incredibly proud that his roots are in the North East of England where we are based and are incredibly thankful for his time and insight. This episode also gives you a code to get 10% off at check out so listen carefully! Hope you got value and enjoy, Nation! Please subscribe, review or tell a friend to help us grow!
Yep, Colin came on again. This time it was to talk about the life of a Golf instructor. And no, it's not all good stuff. This is an honest account from someone with over 8600 hours of coaching time in the bank. It's not always easy. It takes time to be able to earn a half decent wage. It's competitive. But, it can be so rewarding if you love Golf and helping people. Colin shares his experiences to try and help any aspiring or current coaches. Once again, this episode is not without its laughs! We have such a blast every time we sit with him and hope we brought you immense value! This episode was sponsored by Colin and details of how to win a 30 minute consultation with him will be out next week via Instagram! Thank you all so much for listening. We are really trying to grow this, so if you did enjoy, please subscribe and review on iTunes/Spotify. Thank you, JJ Nation!
Hey, JJ Nation. Here's an easy 30 minute listen! We start off on the iphone and phone evolution in general before migrating into some ideas about the future of Golf facilities and how they, too, can evolve. We mainly shoot shit here, but make some fairly valid points that we think you may find interesting and valuable. PLEASE, NATION, if you enjoy this or get any value, go subscribe and review the pod! Much appreciated x
Yes, you're correct. We talk about pissing ourselves in this episode. It's been a while since we just sat and talked shit and we've had plenty of feedback to suggest this makes folks laugh so here we are... We talk about how our new interest in Surfing is going, question whether we all piss ourselves in pools, drop some mates in it with embarrassing stories, the binge drinking culture in the UK and how good it is to let your hair down and party a little on Golf trips! We didn't stop laughing and hope you don't either! Oh, and there's a little bonus if you listen to the full episode... Please review also! We're starting to try and push this podcast and grow it to help bring value to as many people as possible. It would mean the world. Thank you, Nation :)
So, we recorded with Zac last week but we had a huge technological error and none of his audio recorded! He was kind enough to come on again today so we are immensely thankful for that. This podcast was so much fun and we even got an exclusive that you'll have to keep your ears peeled for. We talk about Zac's entry to Golf, his amazing transformation from 12 to +6 handicap within 12 months, his recent trip to Scotland and so much more. He even teaches you how to perform the famous Zac Radford stinger! Zac is so down to earth and only creates content to provide value and benefit to his community and to help make Golf as relatable as possible. We sincerely hope you enjoy! If you enjoyed it or are enjoying the episodes frequently, please do review, subscribe and tell a mate to help us grow. Thanks for the love, Nation!
What another awesome podcast with Colin McCarthy! We are doing a Tips/Coaching collab to ensure we are giving as much value as possible to the JJ Nation! In this episode, we discuss what mindset you need to adopt in order to improve. A casual round a week will not suffice! In short, we make the following points.
- Practice with intent
- Invest in a coach and range time
- Stop taking tips from friends
- Get fitted clubs!
We hope you found value, guys. Thank you so much for taking the time to listen :) Remember, this is interactive. So get in touch and we will answer your questions!
This was dope. What Dorig was able to bring to the table was so valuable and we hope it brought you all benefit. We discuss the Surf culture and how that might be able benefit Golf. We dive into what Leus stands for, why it was started and Dorig' s journey to this point. We established that the main thing was for people to understand about Golf was to just be able to have fun. It's something we've spoken about so much either on the Podcast, Instagram or Blog and is something we will continue to drill into people. Community, experience and fun. It really can be that straightforward. Why we concern ourselves so much with the 'hierarchy' that may or may not exist, I will never understand. Dorig makes an amazing point that the more emerging brands that are able to tell different stories and narratives, the more this game progresses. We are all welcome to play, no matter our background. This one will appeal to Entrepreneurs, Golfers, Action Sport enthusiasts and probably everyone else in between! Hope you enjoy JJ Nation. Please like, share, subscribe, leave a review etc etc :) Btw, for those of you who don't know, Leus is a towel brand and probably the only towel brand that tells a real story and gives the consumer the ability to express themselves.
Delighted to bring you the first ever tips with Colin McCarthy episode. We created this to give YOU value. To ensure you can have long form audio of teaching you on elements of your swing. The overwhelming requests from you guys was on chipping, so Colin goes through all the elements of a chip shot and breaks it down into bite size parts to make it easy to learn, understand and then practice. Drills on how to improve are also given. We can picture you guys at the range with the earphones in and practicing as you listen :) We end the show with Q and A from our community who have sent in some questions about their game or Golf in general. So excited for this to help as many people as possible. Share and tell a friend please, guys!
In this episode, we dive into more around who we are and what we aim to create and why. We discuss how we aim to use the benefits of Golf as cornerstones for more connected experiences on our Escapes. For example, we will introduce yoga into our itinerary in the hope we are able to prolong the the time people are able to play by being more flexible and healthy. Whilst vital, accessibility doesn't always mean to focus on price and youth. It's making this game relatable, promoting its sub-cultures and benefits that will help our special game. Hope you all enjoy and as ever, please share!
In this episode, we discuss travel and it's importance. Once more, we talk about why we think Golf harnesses so much of what travel is about and discuss its role as a vehicle to travel and explore. It's pretty cool that an individual sport can take you to so many places and meet so many interesting people. You see, Golf is much more than a sport or a game. It's a lifestyle, it's an opportunity within itself to benefit those who take part in so many ways. This episode also contains the regular dosage of laughs :) Hope you enjoy and gain value from it :) If you did, please share, subscribe like or comment!
The first thing to know about Colin is that he is an incredibly real guy and the topic of authenticity is what resonated throughout. It's so important that we all recognize who we are and embrace that. So many of us reject ourselves somewhat and spend our time posturing or faking to maintain a certain image. Colin knows this and is unapologetic about being himself. What's more encouraging is that Colin spends a lot of his time with kids and teaching them how to play but is also teaching them how to be themselves. Golf gives us all the opportunity, through our swing and style of play, to express ourselves freely and I think this isn't talked about enough! We go deep on Colin's introduction to the game to his life as a trick shot artist and Golf coach. Some really insightful conversation here with a healthy dose of laughs! Hope you all enjoy and please don't forget to share, like and subscribe. We do this to bring as much value to you as possible so it would mean the world if you could help bring value to more people :)
Excited beyond belief to be launching Just Jaks Golf Escapes very shortly. We hope this podcast gives you an insight into why we started this and why we think we can bring you tonnes of value. We grew frustrated of traditional golf holidays that always seemed to feel like a chore. Additionally, we always wanted a team format and a chance to compete, improve and have loads of fun. That’s what Just Jaks Escapes is about. It’s a golf escape. We’re proving an all-inclusive, hassle free, concierge service, coaching, loads of merch and a Ryder Cup style format of play including dinners! Once more, we want to provide an environment that caters to an individual or group. We want you to meet new, like minded people and create memories that will last a lifetime. Sincerely hope you enjoy this one Nation!! PS we call it Nation Tours in the podcast but we changed the name :)
Ryan Rustand is as real as it gets. We really get to know him on this one. We talk about how Golf has always been a part of his life and was the platform on which his family relationships were built. Following the tragic loss of his father, Ryan gained so much in perspective and knew he wanted to spend his career in the Golf world. Inspired by a YouTube trickshot artist, Ryan quickly learned what he would love to do for the rest of his life. With a young son and little time spare, Ryan would spend 6 hours from 9pm to 3am perfecting and learning how to do trick shots. Fast forward 4 years and his immense work ethic and persistence is starting to pay off. Supported by Cobra and Puma, Ryan has began to do live performances in the hope he can create another interesting and fun avenue for people to access the game. We can't wait to see him develop and further his success and impact on this game!
Remember folks, if you got any value from this, share, like subscribe blah blah blah
We discuss the growing popularity of Long Drive, our upcoming projects an then take a deep, unplanned dive into space and conspiracy theories... It's certainly diverse and will get you thinking for sure! A snappy 30 minute listen for you Golf lovers who perhaps love a good think about the unknown... Once again, thank you so much for listening and don't forget to share :)
This was so fun. Bobby is a guy I've known about for some time now and really respected what he was doing. I have heard from numerous people how much of a gent this man was and he delivered on all fronts. Passionate, energetic and dynamic, Bobby is creating what is fast becoming a very reputable and recognisable Golf brand in Royalty Sports. We go deep on this one. From his early days as a professional baseball player getting drafted by the Pitsburgh Pirates to his subsequent injuries, profitable venture in poker and now creating a premium club manufacturer straight out of West Palm Beach, Florida. I know you will all love this one as we've had so many requests for him! If you have the time, please spare a moment to subscribe to this podcast and tell your golfing buddies about it! Love you Nation.

What a pleasure it was to speak with Robin. We went deep into mindset on this one and discuss the growing importance of an open mind. We talk mental health, technology, discipline, Robin's origin story and shoot some shit about Golf of course. We really hope that we've given you the opportunity to learn more about the man behind the 'no look shot' and pick up a few things that may bring benefit to your own lives and/or Golf game. Wow. What a great episode. We sat down with Ryan of Nation Golf, an 80's inspired Golf brand born out of a deep rooted passion for the classic style era. Arnie would be proud, let's put it that way! We go into where the passion stems from, what the future of the game holds, share some funny stories and dive into Ryan's recent feud with Malbon Golf (all fun and games)! Hope you enjoy Nation :) Please like, subscribe and share etc etc yada yada yada
This episode was awesome. Sam Yi is an extremely interesting individual. Here's a guy who gave up everything at 15 years old to tackle a career as a pro Golfer, found some early success under the tutelage of none other than Butch Harmon, but after a couple of years struggling out in Asia, Sam decided he was going to try and start a Golf brand and scratch his entrepreneurial itch. Storyi Golf was then started. Storyi is starting out as a sun protection sleeve to prevent Golfer's struggling with constant UV exposure and aims to be a brand that nurtures everyone's individual story and style. We talk business, entrepreneurship, brand, Butch and the importance of self-awareness! This one delivers on all fronts. Hope you enjoy and gain some benefit from listening :)
In this episode, the big hitting Micahel Kussoff returns and joins us in our first video chat podcast which will also be available on YouTube. MK joined us on his birthday so go show him some Nation love! Really loved this episode. We talked about what a good Golf mentality is, the importance of a pre-shot routine, the benefits of CBD in Golf, characteristics of a good Golf club and tonnes of other really interesting topics. Michael is such a pure guy with a really interesting take on the game. What we love is the fact he derives all of his methods from his personal research - literally couldn't be more authentic. 90 minutes of knowledge bombs, funny moments and tonnes of passion for the game of Golf. Hope you all enjoy :)
What's up Nation?! Today's episode brings you Sean Guerrero, the founder and CEO of multiple Golf businesses, most notably @golfballed. Sean gives us some incredible insights into the current state of internet marketing, the Golf industry as a whole and goes into to how and why Golf Balled was started. We also discuss his latest business venture where he has partnered with @enveedgolf, a CBD business dedicated to Golfers. Just under an hour of atomic knowledge bombs, frequent laughter and crazy insight into this wonderful industry. Hope you all enjoy as much as we did!
In this episode, we reflect on our successful inaugural event. But that wasn't the only box office hit of last week. We dive deep into the Avengers franchise, why is it so successful? Heck, Why is it so good? Mitchell was never a fan at all, but even he is becoming intrigued and beginning to find enjoyment out of the Marvel movies. We discuss why this is. Mickey, on the other hand, is not far off being a crazy, stalker, super-fan and gives us all a very informative insight on how to approach the movies and how to get started if they've missed your radar. Perhaps we can draw some similarities on how to convert non-Golfers into Golfers? It's all just culture hacking, right? Oh, and a little Tiger Woods mastermind mini-segment for added enjoyment. Hope you love listening Nation :)
In this episode, we chat a lot of shit. We talk Just Jaks launch day, a weird game of would you rather?, clarify what Just Jaks is and why it exists among some other very random yet humorous conversation. ENJOY! :) PS Love you Nation :)
In this episode, we had the privilege of sitting down with Sam, the founder of Cut Golf. We discussed how a man who was fed up of losing expensive golf balls and with no previous knowledge or experience in the Golf ball space went about creating a more fun, cheaper, yet quality golf ball. We dive deep into the origins of Cut Golf, what the key to success has been over the first 2 years and what plans Sam has for Cut Golf moving forward. We wanted to have a conversation that helped folks learn the behind the scenes/brand of Cut Golf and drop knowledge bombs that may help people in their business journey. We also talk Tiger Woods and football (soccer for you Americans). Incredibly insightful, fun and interesting conversation - we loved every second and hope you all do too :) #JJNATION
In this episode, we discuss where Just Jaks is as a business and how things are going in preparation for the debut Just Jaks Golf Day. We also delve into the greatest competition on planet Earth - The Masters. This week's podcast open is included where I give my thoughts and picks for this week at Augusta. Details on how to enter will follow. Hope you enjoy Nation!
In this episode, we had the most beautifulest (not word you say? is now...) conversation on Golf. Tawd dives deep into his passion for Golf and his brand. It was so refreshing to hear so much passion behind a golf brand and I'm excited to see what the future brings for Oak&Anchor. We meander from certain desirable golf destinations, a somewhat intimate game of 'would you rather?', stiff PGA Tour players to Kim Jong-un and why we love this game so much. A sumptuous blend of hilarity and wisdom makes for a great listen. We also went a little longer on this one... Would love to know all your thoughts and as ever, hope you enjoy JJ Nation :) If you got some value, please like, comment, subscribe, review etc etc etc (IG: oak.anchor)
In this episode, we sit down with Jimmy Tropicana of Tropicana Golf and Barber Shop. What didn't this episode have?! We laughed hard, played a fun game of rate the haircut, threw it back to the style of the 70's and dove deep into the Tropicana Golf and Barber Shop brand and its Cuban roots. Jimmy was a hoot, from his magical one liners to his passionate rants on the state of the game where he affirmed it's a case of retaining what once was as opposed to trying to change too much... We wedged in some mini segments for added entertainment too, really hope you enjoy them! Thank you for listening JJ Nation!
In this episode, we are joined by none other than Matt Cardis, also known as golfinyourstate on Instagram. This one was special. We really peeled back the layers and got to understand Matt’s purpose and mission and why he believes so strongly in going all in on your passion. We discuss his golfing adventures, upcoming plans and why we think Golf can learn a lot from surf and ski culture. That barely touches the surface though. The most poignant message from this podcast is that at the core of Golf, it’s all about the people. Matt talks a lot about people, purpose and places and we want to keep on communicating that message to the Nation. Hope you all enjoy!
In this episode, Mitchell discusses last week at the Players Championship, Rory's long overdue win, Rahm and Fleetwood's poor Sunday and picks for this week on both the PGA and European Tour. Hope you enjoy Nation :) Remember to enter to be in with a chance of winning free money come Sunday!
In this episode, we go hard on what we believe the game of Golf needs to really progress. We delve into Ron's colourful career as a pro golfer and instructor and discuss some of the A-listers he has worked with in the past. It was a true pleasure to host Ron. In this episode, I give my picks for this week's tournaments and share my anxiety over Tiger's late withdrawal to Arnie's tournament. I discuss last week's tournaments and hold my hands up to the worst picks I'm likely to make on the podcast open - both didn't make the cut... Hope you enjoy!
PS. Must apologise as the sound quality isn't as good as previous episodes, it'll be fixed for next time!
In this episode brought to you by Great Annual Savings Group, we discuss the latest developments within Just Jaks, discuss the relevance of cash in a tech lead world, paintball guns and talk around Mitchell's heavily competitive challenge against his friend, Aynsley Pears... This one is full of laughs and in our opinion, the most entertaining one yet. Put it this way, we end it with uncontrollable laughter... Enjoy! :)
In this episode, selections are made for this week's events on tour. I also discuss last week's events at the WGC in Mexico. Remember to listen out for instructions on how to enter for this week's Podcast Open! With a free chance at some beer money, why wouldn't you?! Hope you enjoy Nation :)
In this episode and the first of the #NationSeries, we chat with Michael Kussoff, the founder and CEO of Anchors & Angles Golf. In this episode, we discuss the many reasons why golf numbers are trending in the wrong direction and various potential remedies we feel that need to be focussed on to bring the game into 2019. We then somehow manage to compare the mindset that ruled Cannabis in the 60's to the 'member committees' mindset that govern the majority of golf clubs. Hope you enjoy!
On this episode, we cover some of the recent rule changes in Golf and meander off into World Cup hysteria, modern day news, podcast inspo and briefly touch on the potential on AI... Kept this one short and punchy! Hope you enjoy :) - please like, share, subscribe, comment blah blah blah
