#115 | Know Your History or Hate Everyone
Patrick Huey is an armchair historian and Investment Advisor. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh, concentrating in English literature and Military History before spending nine years as a U.S. Naval Flight Officer. There he spent extended time at sea, which gave him plenty of time to read, write and contemplate his next profession. Since he managed to accumulate almost nothing in savings or investments while in the Navy, he recognized the need to be better educated about financial concepts. When it turned out he enjoyed planning and investing, you could say his second career chose him.
Now the owner of Victory Independent Planning, LLC he is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy®, and earned an MBA from Arizona State University. Patrick thinks that, to borrow a quote from Winston Churchill, history will be kind to him. Because he intends to write it.

Very few men intentionally invest in themselves to become the best husband, father, and provider we can be. That is why Jay started "My Virtual Dad" to help men who want to find their way in this world and are looking for a little help.

#110 | My Medical Bill is What?!?
Paige Carter considers herself to be a Florida-Tennessee hybrid native. Having spent the same amount of years living in both states, Paige would tell you her personality is sunny like the Sunshine State but ‘bleeds orange,’ like many who are alumni of the University of Tennessee.
Following a 7-year journey to break into the Human Resources world, Paige has worked in various Human Resources functions on her way to running a Human Resources department for a community bank in middle Tennessee. Before working in the finance industry, Paige worked in the insurance industry focusing primarily on group health insurance and customer service in that field.
Paige’s specific interest in health insurance can be derived from having had multiple open heart surgeries in her less than 3 decades of life. Born with congenital critical pulmonary stenosis, Paige survived not having a properly working pulmonary valve when she was born because of timing and luck. Since that time, Paige has devoted much of her time researching and keeping up to date on the latest health insurance services and regulatory updates, while trying to effectively communicate these changes to clients and employees.
Paige is currently halfway through her MBA with the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She is currently attending the Professional MBA program which allows her to work full time while earning an MBA full time, keeping true to an “always learning” mindset.
