This is a continuation of podcast #21 where we sat down with Michael Komondy. If you missed Part A we highly recommend you listen to that first. Overall, we discussed different perspectives on how the market is going to adjust. There is more emphasis on the food and restaurant side on these past two episodes but as we've seen this can pertain to anyone. 

In this weeks podcast we are able to sit down with Michael Komondy, a small business (restaurant) adviser in the area. He discusses his thoughts and perspectives on how the market is going to adjust due to the hit we as a world have experienced. How will restaurants change? Will food trucks be able to operate the same? What about other mobile small business services that we have seen pop up? 

Due to the great detail shared related to our questions to Michael we have broken this episode into two parts. Please tune in next week to start planning for your businesses future and whats to come! 

We recorded this episode yesterday and already a few things have changed for us down here in North Carolina. All restaurants and bars after 5 pm on 3/17/2020 will be closed unless they have takeout or delivery options. 

Besides that one change we still believe that food trucks are the safest food option. A majority of the food trucks in our area are delivering or having curbside pick up options for different customers. As it stands we only see Covid-19 getting worse but hopefully some light at the end of the tunnel will be visible.

With a suspected snow storm on the horizon here in North Carolina we need to cover what systems you should have in place to assure your saftey in not only the snow, but also just the cold. In this episode we discuss the best practices with things like tires, saftey kits, and tips to try and draw more people out to your trucks. Overall, if we do wind up getting a bit of snow we hope that you all stay safe! If we missed any snow/winter tips that you think are extremely important please let us know!

Now that the holidays and New Years are over it's time to focus on Valentine's Day! As a property manager there are plenty of ways to engage your tenants during this unique holiday. One thing that will make it stand out from the rest is by hosting a Food Truck Valentine's Day event. Invite small businesses as vendors, bring in Chocolate wizzards, and even a florist that can supply your love with a bouquet to last.

With the harsh weather conditions we don't need the added stress of gas saftey coupled with the snow and ice head aches. Food trucks are our lives, they are our passion, and they are a gift! It's that time of the year where the grease is in the air, the fryers are boiling up, and we are ready to submerge ourselves into the state fair! Life is too short and the fair food is too yummy to resist the temptations. There are some none fried options that we defiantly recommend you give a try. Who knows when they may be available again. I personally love seeing what the food trucks create for the fair because I get to see their creativity at its finest. We apologize if you are not in the area to come to the North Carolina state fair. You could always stop on by and give it a try. If you do make sure to reach out to us! 

As Square changes their transaction fees are they still the best for food truck operators? We are working towards integrating online ordering with our MOBLZ app and we are finding out who uses what POS system for their trucks. In our research, we found 6 that came up often as some of the best for mobile vendors. Some of those include Square, Toast, and ShopKeep. This week we sit down with Becky Hanner, the owner of Hanner Commercial Assets and property manager with over 30 years of experience. Depending on whether you are an aspiring entrepreneur or property owner/manager both Becky and Eric discuss different hot tips for where the mobile market is heading. Importantly, we discuss what you need in order to keep your properties/businesses safe from legal issues as well as how you should plan for your business. We are experiencing a vast growth in the mobile amenities so we can only expect that more regulation will follow. These regulations and procedures will not stop us from taking back out weekend though.

This week we have a chat with Leo the owner and operator of La Deliciosa a local Mexican desert truck. Food and service truck names can stand out. It's all about getting out there and creating a memorable name that shows who you are and what you serve. We went through and found our favorite food truck names to have a little more relaxed of an episode. We also have a few mobile service ideas that you can take and run with. The transition from internal combustion engines to battery operated vehicles is not happening as fast as we anticipated. It still takes time and money to stop and fill up your tank. In this episode we discuss the rise of mobile fuel trucks that will travel to your location and fill up your vehicle. The current players in this market are Yoshi, Neighborhood Fuel, and Purple. Some of us may search for the lowest priced gas, but if the gas came to you would you pay a premium? Right now we are just seeing services like these in large/populated cities but who knows this could cause the death of the gas station. Just like Uber causing the death of the taxi cab.
