Journey to Motherhood and Self-Confidence

Journey to Motherhood and Self-Confidence

On this episode of the Mommy Monitor Report (Mommy  Monitor's official podcast) we are so excited to be sharing the first  episode of our youth subcommittee's podcast series on Parenting During  COVID-19. In this episode, we begin our conversation with Jillisa Brown  [Confidence Coach, "Beautify My Soul"] by delving into her own journey  to motherhood and confidence.

In this four-part podcast series on  Parenting During COVID-19, youth subcommittee member Aliah McCalla talks  with Confidence Coach, community leader, and mother Jillisa Brown about  how young families can cope with the current coronavirus crisis.  Jillisa was going to be a panelist on our youth subcommittee's Community  Roundtable for Young Parents (which has been postponed) and we are  thrilled to have her join us for this series. She identifies as an  Afro-Jamaican-Canadian leader who is passionate about empowering her  community. Jillisa became a mother at 19, and quickly learned the truth  about love, relationships, and the impacts parenthood has on a young  adult’s life. Today, Jillisa is a Confidence Coach who leads women of  colour and youth across the globe through their own journeys to daily  confidence. She is also the creator of an organization called Beautify  My Soul, which is founded upon the need for a Coming of Age program  within the Black Community. You can learn more about Jillisa on her  website at: jillisabrown.com/. Be sure to also follow Mommy Monitor's youth subcommittee on Instagram: www.instagram.com/mommymonitoryouth/
