Learning to Compromise on Managing Money with Sarah & Taylor Nielson - 128

In today’s episode, we are talking with Sarah and Taylor Nielsen. Sarah is a friend of my wife’s and they’ve known each other for the past few years. My wife invited them to come on my podcast because she knows that they also like to talk about money. Today’s conversation is a fun one and we dive into quite a few different topics. This episode will be applicable for everyone and especially if you are married. This would be a great one to listen to as a couple on a drive or something like that. We talk about a lot of great things like taking opportunities, how marriage doesn’t have to be fair, how to support each other, how to think about debt, being on the same page, how the steps you take on your journey may be different, budgets, trying new things, and the list goes on and on. Taylor also shared one of the greatest pieces of advice that we all wish we could go back and learn sooner in life, so be sure to stick around to the end of the interview to hear what they both have to say they wish they knew sooner when it comes to money.

In today’s money talk mastery we’re going to talk about adult expenses. You’re going to hear some conversation today about the boring but necessary bills like insurance, housing, transportation, and the like. While these are things that we have to spend on. They are also things that we can save on. I want to share some insight to how we can save money on some of the necessary evils when it comes to our money

1. Are you a general budget or a specific budget kind of person?

Ep 96 - What if Money is a Person with Morgana Rae

In this episode, we have a conversation with Morgana Rae, a life coach with extensive experience. Morgana shares her personal journey, where she found herself at a difficult point in life when nobody was willing to work with her. This led to a loss of hope and a rollercoaster of emotions surrounding money. Despite trying various approaches, Morgana couldn't improve her financial situation until she asked herself a powerful question: "If my money was a person, who would it be?" By personifying money, she was able to make it more tangible and address her issues with it. This process took time, but it helped Morgana gain a better understanding of her relationship with money and handle it more effectively.

Morgana suggests blaming your money stress on an external entity to separate yourself from negative emotions and work towards a solution. She emphasizes the importance of engaging in real, measurable work to overcome financial challenges. To conquer financial obstacles, Morgana outlines a step-by-step process: uncover the root cause, personify it as a "monster," destroy the monster, and replace it with your "money honey." Having a conversation with your new money honey helps establish a healthier relationship with money. Finally, Morgana highlights the significance of taking concrete and measurable actions to make progress in your financial journey. Ep 87 - Prepping Your Money For Summer with Chris Chapman

Summer is right around the corner and that brings increased expenses. Both in terms of air conditioning and vacations! Do you spend to keep up with your friends and families on trips or going out every weekend? What should you consider during the summer? What are the benefits of planning for the summer? Will you lose friends if you say that you don’t want to participate as much or that you need to find cheaper options? Chris Chapman joins me today to talk about all those things. This is going to be a great episode! The Money Talking points for today’s episode are:

  1. What step would be most useful for me in prepping my money for the summer?
  2. Do I have realistic expectations set for how I am going to spend money this summer?

You can find Chris on Instagram @ChrisChapChap

Here are the 6 steps to increasing your income that Chris shared on the podcast

  1. DECIDE that you want to be wealthy and that you want to be to increase your income. So many ppl in a fixed mindset, complaining, wishing they had it better, wishing for me, stop complaining and DECIDE
  2. BELIEVE that it is possible
  3. Analyze what skill sets, characteristics, and attributes you have.
  4. Become addicted to learning.
  5. Become OBSESSED with becoming the best possible version of yourself that there is.
  6. Find a reason bigger than just yourself to motivate you to make more money - for me.
