Obviously Vintage: Lauren Flagg

Obviously Vintage: Lauren Flagg

Lauren Flagg has a vision and she is determined as she moved from Fuquay-Varina, NC to Atlanta, GA on faith, ambition, and just $100. She has many talents but just a few are fashion designer, illustrator, and apparel technical designer. Flaggs started in ATL at a family member's house to save money as she kept her goal in mind and climbed the ladder to now work at Pressed ATL as the Apparel Technical Designer for Rasheeda from Love & Hip- Hop Atlanta. Obviously Vintage was created off of a leap of faith the make quality fashion that was different but spoke to Lauren's sense of style that is certainly stylish and comfortable for men and women.

Chef Bill of No Garnish:

I started out watching my father in the kitchen as he would create marinades and seasoning mixtures for the dinner, which he prepared for my mother and I. He never told me what to do or how to do it, but my love for the art of creation drove me to begin learning and studying food as early as I could. Fast forward to now, and the idea for my site is simple: share the tools and techniques I picked up along my journey as well as show that even if you’ve never touched a knife before, YOU ARE A COOK.

Oftentimes, we take for granted the most basic life skills. We pass them off as if they aren’t essential to our existence, and we move too fast to truly appreciate them. I’m Chef Bill of No Garnish, LLC and I want to rewrite the narrative that has misconstrued one of the fundamental pillars of our being: food.

We speak with our first guest and host - Monica McMillan. At age 15, Monica started her journey as a Front + Backstage Fashion Show Assistant and then designing her own dresses and coordinating her own fashion shows. Every-time she made sure she collaborated with some one, had marketing materials, and Monica was super ambitious.

Today, Monica has collaborated on designs with Nike for the Raleigh Blvd. Community T-shirts, coordinated over 20 fashion shows and events, and now created my own marketing + branding agency. She went to Meredith College where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and graduated December 2019.

Each day, as a Peaceful Hustler, we set a goal to stand in our purpose by following through with our passion driven services or products and take the leap of faith. Along the way there will be challenges but triple the accomplishments. It's all about bringing the vision but most importantly the plan, the resources, and the team.
