Our favorite monster hunter is back. Lyle Blackburn returns to tell us all about his new book, Lake Worth Monster: The True Story of the Greer Island Goatman.

What is lurking on the shores of Lake Worth in Texas? Reports of attacks and sightings go all the way back to 1969. Is there a part man, part goat creature stalking the area, or is the Goatman just another urban legend?

Blackburn is one of the most prominent cryptid investigators in the game and as usual, he has done his homework. He offers stories, accounts, startling facts, and other insight into this fascinating case.

The Lake Worth Monster is the latest in Blackburn’s impressive of books that includes The Beast of Boggy Creek, Lizard Man, Momo: The Strange Case of the Missouri Monster, and more.

It's a new Monster Men! We are thrilled to welcome back our pal Tim Waggoner, author of the highly anticipated novelizations of X, Pearl and Maxxxine. We discuss the behind-the-scenes process of writing a novelization, as well as the entire phenomenon of books based on movies. It’s a fascinating conversation with lots of laughs and even more insight into the genre.

Tim is an award-winning author with over 50 novels, including novelizations of Terrifier 2 and Halloween Kills. He’s also done tie-ins to Alien, Supernatural, Resident Evil and more. His books on writing, including Writing in the Dark, are must-reads for any writer or horror fan.

You’re gonna love Kristin Dearborn. She loves monsters and horror, and she has some cool tattoos. Kristin’s new book, Faith of Dawn, is all about the dangers of the Florida swampland. There’s something even more monstrous lurking down there besides the snakes, gators, bugs and oppressive heat. (Hint: If you like Skunk Apes & Bigfoot, you’re home.)

Kristin is so cool, and our conversation ranges from her favorite horror books & movies to the best place to buy guns, beer and wedding dresses in Maine. We also get a little insight into how she writes such compelling stuff.

Love is a burning thing, and it makes a fiery ring. This time around, we have a special guest. World-renowned horror author Hunter Shea joins us for an exclusive interview about his new book, Combustible. Jack, being a world-renowned horror podcaster, asks all the hard-hitting questions you’ve always wanted to hear.

The time on Monster Men, we welcome our pals Chad Lutzke and Jeremiah Bannister from the PaleoCheeze Podcast. Chad, like us, is a crusty horror veteran and he often watches horror movies with Jeremiah, who has hardly seen anything scary on the silver screen. It’s always a lot of fun.

(The Ontario Paranormal Society York Region Chapter), and has been a paranormal investigator for five years. He’s lived in a haunted home for over a decade and was even featured on Paranormal Survivor. Glenn talks about some of his most chilling investigations, what it’s like to be on TV, the backstory behind his haunted house, ghost hunting equipment and why graveyards are not the best place to seek the paranormal. 

Are you ready to rock? This week we welcome our buddy Mike Carlon on the show to reminisce about some of our favorite songs featured in horror movies. It’s a fun and nostalgic ride down the Highway to Hell. Mike is an author, podcaster and stand-up comic. He also knows a lot about 80s hair metal. Don’t mess with him when it comes to Dokken. The Monster Men welcome back the man himself, author Terry M West, to the show. Some people say that we are living in the new golden age of horror movies. It’s Halloween time again, but times have changed and so must we. Thanks to the pandemic, Halloween will look a little different this year, and so does our Halloween episode. We have done it remotely, as is the case with most things in 2020… but that does not stop us from having fun.

This time we discuss and celebrate the horror movies 1978, the year the John Carpenter’s Halloween came out. It was quite a year for the genre. Plus, throughout the conversation we talk about some of the ways you can enjoy Halloween while still staying safe.

Beware the moon! This week we welcome Michelle Garza to the podcast. Michelle alongside her twin sister, Melissa Lason, are better known as The Sisters of Slaughter, authors of some great horror, science fiction and dark fantasy. This week we discuss a subject that’s near and dear to Michelle; werewolves. Naturally we cover many of the staples of the genre including The Wolfman, An American Werewolf in London, The Howling, Dog Soldiers, Ginger Snaps and more. You’ll be howling at the moon by the end of this one.
