Mental Health Week at SIS
Along with our Producer Jennifer Shin, we interview members of SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) to discuss the vision behind the club's founding and the inaugural Mental Health Week at Seoul International School. Participating students describe their experiences in the structured activities which were designed to raise awareness around Mental Health issues and promote positive coping strategies. In this episode, we also learn from members about the upcoming events that SADD has planned for the future.
Humanite on Asian Hate
Humanite is a student-led publication that utilizes multiple mediums of expression to cover social and environmental issues impacting our world. In this episode of SIS Community Cast, we caught up with executive members Bryan Kim, Aimee Choi, Rachel Yoon, and Jihoon Kim to discuss their upcoming issue on the racial discrimination towards Asian Americans and how individuals can support the Asian community.
Breaking Down the Stigma
In this episode we are joined by executive members of SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) Korea. Ashley Seong, Sophia Eu, John Lee, and Yoon Seo Kim discuss the cultural factors in Korea that contribute to the stigma surrounding Mental Health and how they hope to break down barriers and create a more supportive community through their work at SADD.
Honor Earth Day with the student led organization ENVI-SION
On this episode of SIS Community Cast, we were able to catch up with 5 members of ENVI-SION (Environmental Vision). Sarah Yim, Triston Lee, Ian Kim, Minjae Chun, and Amber Cheun discuss the importance of youth taking action to protect the environment, projects they are initiating in the community, the purpose behind ENVI-SION, and simple ways that we can all make a positive impact on our natural world.
Discussion on Club Eighteen with founding members, Christine Yi and Eunice Yang
Club Eighteen is a student led organization which was created to help 'end of protection youth' and their transition out of government supported facilities. This has included fundraising efforts, extensive research on the issues affecting these youth, and the creation of a 'buddy' program to connect with younger children. Listen to the conversation with Eunice Yang and Christine Yi as they discuss the goals and evolution of the organization.
