Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes - MOVIE REVIEW

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes - MOVIE REVIEW

Hey everyone, "what a wonderful day!" Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, one of my most anticipated movies of the year, has now hit theaters! So, is Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes a worthy continuation of one of the best reboots in film history? Find out in this SPOILER-FREE review!

In this episode, I break down some details in the suit that have been HEAVILY debated among fans, my thoughts on them and how the suit stacks up against previous theatrical interpretations!

The Fall Guy (2024) - MOVIE REVIEW

The Fall Guy (2024) - MOVIE REVIEW

Hello everybody, welcome to a (for those of you in the US, slightly early) review of the new Ryan Gosling & Emily Blunt film: The Fall Guy. This was easily one of my most anticipated films of the year; not because I watched the original 80s TV show but because I just loved the concept of creating a love letter to stuntmen, the unsung heroes of Hollywood, in an action comedy that's also being directed by a former stuntman. Plus, Ryan Gosling, maybe the most charismatic actor of this generation, was set to star! So... did The Fall Guy meet my lofty expectations or is this a bit of a generic action flick? Find out in this review! The Fall Guy: Directed by: David Leitch Screenplay by: Drew Pearce Based on the television series created by: Glen A. Larson Produced by: Kelly McCormick, David Leitch, Ryan Gosling, Guymon Casady Executive Producers: Drew Pearce, Geoff Shaevitz, Glen A. Larson Music by: Dominic Lewis Cinematography by: Jonathan Sela Editing by: Elísabet Ronaldsdóttir Casting by: Lindsay Graham, Mary Vernieu Production Design by: David Scheunemann Costume Design by: Sarah Evelyn Cast: Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, Winston Duke, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Hannah Waddingham, Stephanie Hsu Synopsis: Fresh off an almost career-ending accident, stuntman Colt Seavers has to track down a missing movie star, solve a conspiracy and try to win back the love of his life while still doing his day job.

Abigail - MOVIE REVIEW

Hey everyone, Radio Silence's latest film Abigail has hit theaters! Joker: Folie à Deux | Official Teaser Trailer REACTION

Hey everyone, welcome back to MOVIE Morning. The trailer for the sequel to one of the first movies I ever reviewed on the show, Joker, has now hit the internet. Invincible - Season 2 Part 2 REVIEW (SPOILERS)

Invincible - Season 2 Part 2 REVIEW (SPOILERS)

Hey everyone, the greatest superhero (show) in the universe - INVINCIBLE - has finally wrapped up the second half of season 2 on Amazon Prime Video. It has been a long wait to see season 2 and an even longer wait to see season 2 wrap up (obviously), including an almost 4-month long break in between parts. I have LOVED both the comic book series as well as the show for years now and the first half of season 2 was a banger. I went into this really hoping that part 2 could cement season 2 of Invincible as one of the greatest seasons of superhero TV ever. Does it succeed or is it this show's first set of misfires? Find out in this SPOILER-FILLED review, where I also break down the ending and where the story could be going!

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire - MOVIE REVIEW

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire - MOVIE REVIEW

Hey everyone, the next installment of Legendary's MonsterVerse - Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire - has hit theaters globally. I've never been huge into Kaijus and Godzilla films but I surprisingly enjoyed Godzilla vs. Kong (or at least the 30% of it that had epic monster action that was awesome). With Adam Wingard returning to direct I was hopeful that GxK would lean harder into the stuff that worked about the last one. So, does Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire TOP GvK or is it one of the weaker installments in this universe? Find out in this SPOILER-FREE review!

X-Men '97 - Premiere REVIEW (Spoiler-Free)

X-Men '97 - Premiere REVIEW (Spoiler-Free)

Hey everyone, welcome back to MOVIE Morning. X-Men '97, the Marvel Studios revival of the original X-Men Animated Series has now begun on Disney+ with its first two episodes. I LOVE the X-Men and they've been out of the limelight for a few too many years so it's great to see iconic versions of these characters back on the small screen again. I also grew up watching the original 90's show which is still a blast and told some great stories but I was fascinated as to how that show would translate to modern day. So, does X-Men '97 continue the great social commentary and epic action of the original series... or is it yet another show on the pile of Disney+ disappointments? Find out in this SPOILER-FREE review.

Synopsis: X-Men '97 revisits the iconic era of the 1990s as The X-Men, a band of mutants who use their uncanny gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them, are challenged like never before, forced to face a dangerous and unexpected new future. - Marvel Animation

Teen Titans Movie in Development at DC Studios!

Hey everyone, it's finally happening! A Teen Titans movie is finally in the works at Warner Bros., and specifically DC Studios courtesy of James Gunn. The Hollywood Reporter revealed a couple of hours ago that Ana Noguiera (writer of the upcoming 'Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow') has been tapped to write the screenplay. The Teen Titans have featured some of my favorite DC heroes ever since I was a kid and I talk about the HUGE potential of this film, as well as the characters I'd like to see on the team, in this episode right here... as well as how they might fit into James Gunn's 10-year, 2-chapter plan for the DCU!

This most anticipated list is one of the hardest ones I've done in a while, partially because the slate does feel a little lighter on the comic book and action movie side but that just means that more movies will get represented here which is always great. Hey everyone, here we are... the end of the 10-year long, tumultuous journey that was the DCEU that initially started with Man of Steel. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom - MOVIE REVIEW

Hey everyone, the sequel to the 2018 $1B-dollar grossing Aquaman has now released and apparently, it is the final film of the DCEU and the current era of DC films... before James Gunn's DCU kicks off with Max's Creature Commandos in 2024. The first film in the DCU will be Gunn's Superman: Legacy. Getting back to Aquaman, I highly enjoyed the first movie and have really dug the trailers for this sequel but the rumors of extensive plot reworking and poor test screenings over the past two years have had me concerned. So, does James Wan deliver yet another over the top, bombastic blockbuster or does the DCEU end on a ginormous fizzle? Find out in this NON-SPOILER review. Wonka - MOVIE REVIEW

Wonka - MOVIE REVIEW

Hey everyone, what some are calling the cinematic family event of the holiday season - Wonka - has hit theaters. From the director of the two Paddington films comes a Willy Wonka prequel that (apparently) is meant to precede the events of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, starring Gene Wilder. I was interested in this movie based on the director alone, despite being a huge fan of the Roald Dahl story when I was younger. I went in hoping for a big and light-hearted fun time. Is that what I got? Find out in this review. Wonka: Directed by: Paul King Screenplay by: Simon Barnaby & Paul King Story by: Paul King Based on characters created by: Roald Dahl Produced by: Alexandra Derbyshire, David Herman, Luke Kelly Executive Producers: Cate Adams, Rosie Alison, Michael Siegel, Tim Wellspring Music by: Joby Talbot Production Design by: Nathan Crowley Cinematography by: Chung-hoon Chung Editing by: Mark Everson Casting by: Nina Gold Costume Design by: Linda Hemming Cast: Timothée Chalamet, Calah Lane, Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Colman, Rowan Atkinson, Hugh Grant, Sally Hawkins, Matt Lucas, Mathew Boynton, Jim Carter, Tom Davis, Paterson Joseph Synopsis: Willy Wonka – chock-full of ideas and determined to change the world one delectable bite at a time – is proof that the best things in life begin with a dream, and if you’re lucky enough to meet Willy Wonka, anything is possible.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (PS5) - GAME REVIEW

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (PS5) - GAME REVIEW

Hey everyone, better late than never! I, at long last, have finally 100% completed Sony's, Marvel's, Insomniac's Spider-Man 2. After a highly successful and astonishingly fantastic first game, they definitely took their time in getting this sequel out to us (of course, with Miles Morales coming in between). The game released on October 20 but because of a holiday and exams, I wasn't able to complete the story of the game 'till a couple of weeks ago and I finally completed EVERYTHING. Now, I can give you my full review of this game. The hype and excitement for this game from me and the Internet was through the roof... so, as a MASSIVE, lifelong Spider-Man fan, was I satisfied? Find out in this review.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes - MOVIE REVIEW

Hey everyone, the Hunger Games prequel - The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes - released in theaters a week ago. I had the chance to see it last week but did not have time to review until today so I thought I'd share my thoughts, especially considering I am not really a fan of these movies and might give a unique perspective. So, does the latest Hunger Games film feel like more of the same or does this origin tale telling the story of the rise of Snow in Panem reinvigorate the franchise? Find out in this review. The Marvels - MOVIE REVIEW (Spoiler-Free)

The Marvels - MOVIE REVIEW (Spoiler-Free)

Hey everyone, Marvel Studios' final film of 2023 - The Marvels - has now released in theaters. This was, by no means, my most anticipated comic book movie of the year because I don't think the first Captain Marvel is great and the trailers seemed like Thor: Love and Thunder 2.0. The lack of confidence from Marvel and Disney to screen this film in advance also made me nervous going on. I don't remember the last time I was as unenthused with an MCU movie going in, not helped by numerous articles and scoops about the messiness of the future of it right now. But alas, I have seen the film. Was it good? Find out in this review.

But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau.

Marvel FIRES Daredevil: Born Again Writers & Directors! Series Getting a Creative Reboot!

Marvel FIRES Daredevil: Born Again Writers & Directors! Series Getting a Creative Reboot!

Hey everyone... oh my god. Marvel Studios has officially made the decision to FIRE all the writers & remaining directors on Daredevil: Born Again, a pseudo-reboot of the Netflix show that was set to bring back Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Vincent D'onofrio as Kingpin, Jon Bernthal as the Punisher and potentially more people? Whether this series was going to function as a season 4 or be set in an entirely new continuity was very unclear. But with this news, we have learned that after filming just under half of its 18-episode season before the strikes, Kevin Feige and the Marvel executives have decided that the show just wasn't working... just like their current TV model. The series is now headed for a creative reset. In this breakdown of the shocking news, I give you my thoughts on this and why it could entail a promising future for Marvel TV on Disney+! Enjoy!

Ahsoka - Season 1 REVIEW (SPOILERS)

Hey everyone, Star Wars: Ahsoka - the latest show from Lucasfilm on Disney+ - has now wrapped up its first season (or entire show depending on how things go with the plans for the future of the Favreau/Filoni Star Wars universe). After really enjoying episodes 1 and 2, I put out a review but since then, 6 more episodes have aired and quite a lot has changed... This review will contain SPOILERS for season 1 of Ahsoka but will not be a play-by-play of everything that happens. So, is Ahsoka yet another nail in the coffin for Star Wars on Disney+ or is it one of the shining examples of how to do it right? OR a bit of both? Find out my thoughts in this review.

James Gunn CONFIRMS Returning DCEU Actors in His DCU! | Breakdown

James Gunn CONFIRMS Returning DCEU Actors in His DCU! | Breakdown

Hey everyone, the Writer's Strike is now officially and finally over with the writers getting a fair deal. Now, it's back to business for everyone in the entertainment and film industry, including James Gunn - director of the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy and now DC Studios Co-CEO. I have been absolutely pumped to see James Gunn's upcoming DCU, a soft reboot of the DCEU, that will kick off with the animated show 'Creature Commandos' in 2024. Gunn may possibly have the best track record out of any filmmaker working in this genre today and so far, nothing he's said or done has made me all that frustrated. The question is: will I start to understand the hesitation that some people have for his universe with this latest news? (No). Today, I'll be breaking down a couple of things James Gunn recently confirmed on Threads in regards to his DCU, including the return of a couple of familiar faces!

Top 10 BEST Comic Book Movies Since Avengers: Endgame!

Top 10 BEST Comic Book Movies Since Avengers: Endgame!

Hey everyone, Avengers: Endgame released in theaters over 4 years ago.... and we've had tons of good and BAD comic book movies since. It opened and after under 3 months in theaters, it held a short-lived title of the biggest box office hit of all-time. It really marked a turning point in comic book movies, with many claiming that not only the MCU but also the genre peaking there. Because of that, I thought it would be fitting to count down my 10 favorite comic book movies since Endgame, from good to my absolute favorite over the past 4 years. Make sure to let me know what your favorite since Endgame has been on the Q&A section on Spotify! Note: This episode was recorded right after the opening of DC's Blue Beetle.

Ahsoka - Episodes 1 & 2 REVIEW

Ahsoka - Episodes 1 & 2 REVIEW

Hey everyone, the first two episodes of Ahsoka have dropped on Disney+. As a lifelong Star Wars fan, I have just been completely burnt out by these streaming shows of the past 2-3 years so I definitely went into this show with much lowered expectations than I would have, say, five years ago. However, I am fan of Star Wars: Rebels and watched that show right from the pilot until its pretty satisfying series finale. I was hoping Ahsoka would do that show and those wonderful characters justice so I went in modestly hopeful, particularly since I also like what I've seen of Rosario Dawson as a much older version of this character. This is a NON-SPOILER review of the premiere of Ahsoka, meant to tell you whether or not this show is worth watching. Please enjoy!
