Opeyemi is an amazing storyteller, he has helped a good number of African brands tell amazing stories about their products and services. Today we hear a part of his own story. Basically, a peek into the life of our storyteller.

P.S, I am sorry this is coming late, life has thrown a lot on my plate and I had to find balance before returning to podcasting.

So I know it has been a while, life has been a rollercoaster of events these past few months and I am learning to navigate new emotions. Then again it is not a good enough excuse to stop creating yeah? So I plan to upload the rest of my recorded episodes and also work on a new long-form style of podcast similar to what we have on Hidden Brain's podcast.

On this episode, I speak with Mercy Markus, who started out with the community in Colab and has worked as a data scientist in PayLater (now carbon) and is now a software engineer at Microsoft working with the mixed reality team as a software engineer, building the Metaverse for work.

Opeyemi and I get together to have a podcast about some of the things we care deeply about. Family, community, relationships and society.

I'd love to write a lengthy description of this, but I think you'd get more value just listening to it. One thing is evident, his guiding principle and life philosophy is deeply rooted in this saying—"We are all we have".

I have known Atti for a few years, my first introduction to him was to help out in building an edu-tech startup for him (Tertfinder). We jumped on a few calls and I and a dev started some work on the product, a few weeks down the line we are having a conversation and he casually mentions that he is in the airforce. I honestly found it had to believe it completely until I had drinks with him and a few of his air force friends at the base. 

He is a retired major now, and is giving his full and undivided attention to the world of tech—oh I should mention that he is also a front end developer, lol.

Olusegun Aribido is one of the people I love to call learning machines, the man upskills like crazy and studies a lot so he can advance his craft and have a better understanding of the world, he is a super-focused soul (a little too focused), but also extremely playful and kind. He also happens to be a pretty good tailor and an amazing product designer, hear his journey from the world of fashion into digital product design.

Kaizen is a Japanese word and principle that is heavy on the concept of improvement, while commonly used in management and assembly lines, it can also be taken as a personal life principle, my friend Kola Ojo is one of the few people I have met who live by this principle. In this episode, he would be talking about how he improved on himself over time.

One of the effects of the pandemic was making the talent market become global.
Now people have the opportunity to work multiple jobs remotely if they can manage their time effectively.
Then again working multiple jobs pre-dates the talent boom, even when people did not have the luxury of working remotely. We want to talk about it and see if we can figure out why.

It would have been great if we touched on burnout in this episode but we did not, I have that planned out for a separate episode.

I love having conversations, I am intrigued with the thought process of people and how they can vary on the same topic.

I am a Product Designer but I do not plan to make this podcast all about design, we are going to talk about a ton of things. Tech, design(duh), marriage, movies, learning and societal issues.
