Sia, "Puppies Are Forever"

Sia, "Puppies Are Forever"

Have you ever recorded a podcast episode dunking on someone who maybe doesn't deserve it, but then before the episode is released they come under fire for the casting in their new movie, so it becomes good to dunk on them? In our second Christmas episode of 2020, the hell boys are talking Sia and her out-of-character Christmas album from 2018. Our ears bleed as we discuss the put-upon vocal style of the music, whether Sia has ever performed on Ellen, pig carcasses, how weird and hilarious it is to love dogs, and if Sia is still alive. All of the answers you have been waiting for are revealed, plus a special Christmas edition of Jam Of The Week!

Thank you to Rachel for the great request this week! If you have a request for Music Hell, email us at MusicHellPod@gmail.com, or send us a DM on Instagram @MusicHellPod (where we post bonus content every week).

Paul McCartney, "Wonderful Christmastime"

Paul McCartney, "Wonderful Christmastime"

Rock it man! In the first of our two Christmas episodes, the hell boys take on a classic holiday hit by one of those bumbling Beatles. We talk the maddening repetitiveness and simplicity, the time Ringo ate too many jelly beans, just how much money Paul made from this song, Johnny Depp, and "Temporary Secretary."

Korn, "Way Too Far" (feat. 12th Planet & Flinch)

This week, thanks to a wonderful listener request, the hell boys are filling their ears with Korn. - specifically, Korn's oft-ridiculed dubstep album. Topics include Korn Koffee, Korn's history with Toys 'R Us and Mike Huckabee, Jonathan Davis' bagpipe performance, and possibly the single worst piece of music played on the show so far!

If you want us to cover one of YOUR requests like we did for a listener this week, DM us @MusicHellPod on Instagram or email us at MusicHellPod@gmail.com!

Shawn Mullins, "Lullaby"

Shawn Mullins, "Lullaby"

THIS one'll put ya to sleep alright. Or make you mad I guess. That's what it did for us. Mack and August journey into one hit wonder Shawn Mullin's college rock staple "Lullaby." The hell boys talk bullshit lyrics and made up words, Shawn's mumbly voice, the celebrity couples they would invite to their parties, and their one sentence reviews of the song. Plus, August calls Steve Carrell "Dan."

HELL-py Thanksgiving everyone! To give thanks, the hell boys listen through Nicole Westbrook's viral sensation "It's Thanksgiving," from the same creative team that made Rebecca Black's "Friday." AKA “the Seth Rogen Episode.” The hell boys make their first (but certainly not final) foray into the world of new metal as they take on Saliva. Topics include the “quintessential Saliva sound,” their dream guests for a smoke sesh, and news documentaries about robbery and car theft that FINALLY get around to sex. Plus, Mack forgets to turn his A/C off.

Stay tuned through the end to hear a special announcement from Music Hell regarding the results of the 2020 U.S. presidential election.

It's our first ever listener request episode in Music Hell! Mack and August explore uncharted territory (for them) as they sift through the numerous controversies of Jake Paul. The hell boys discuss the doomed future of our civilization, catalogue Jake and Logan Paul's most heinous (and famous) moments, and imagine what it would be like if Obama had amnesia.

Thirty Seconds To Mars, "Walk On Water"

Hollywood Month ends with a bang as we take on the crown prince of actors-turned-musicians Jared Leto! Perhaps the most self-righteous villain Mack and August have encountered thus far, the Hell Boys examine Leto's sex-strike, his god complex, the band's egregious pretentiousness, and their latest album's blatant attempt at a cash grab. Plus, the final installment of beloved segment Celebrity Weights as well as the boys' Ellen Degeneres impressions.

Bruce Willis, "Can't Leave Her Alone"

Hollywood Month continues it cruel wrath upon Music Hell as Mack and August take on the music of certified hunk Bruce Willis. Topics include the Seagrams commercial that started it all, vanity projects that thinly disguise themselves as comedy, Tom Brady's COVID serum, and the differences between hunks, beefcakes, cuties, and studs. Robert Downey Jr, "Little Clownz"

Robert Downey Jr, "Little Clownz"

Oh no. The long-requested return of Robert Downey Jr.'s songwriting career makes its return with the silliest song title so far. August and Mack discuss misguided music made for an acceptable reason, the nature of vanity projects, and return to fan-favorite segment Celebrity Weights. Some people who are famous for one thing should maybe not always do another thing as well.

Hollywood Vampires, "Git From Round Me"

Hollywood Vampires, "Git From Round Me"

Hollywood Month begins! In our month-long exploration of terrible music made by stars of the silver screen, Aug and Mack tackle Johnny Depp's supergroup Hollywood Vampires. I wish we could tackle them IRL because this music is terrible. We discuss the egregious, beer-soaked backstory of the band, skeletons smoking cigarettes, even more terrible patriotic music, and Hot Topic. Why WOULDN'T you listen?

Benny Mardones, "Into The Night"

Benny Mardones, "Into The Night"

No, you're not seeing double -  in this one we tackle our second song titled "Into The Night." The boys take on the problematic mega-hit and discuss the so-bad-it's-good music video, Santana collabs in 2020, a dance remix sung by a 71-year old man, and Charlie Puke. It's gonna be a good time (and by that, I mean it's gonna be a bad time).

Got another terrible song called "Into The Night" you want us to cover? Email us at MusicHellPod@gmail.com and let us know (as well as your favorite color).

Vinnie Vincent Invasion, "No Substitute"

Vinnie Vincent Invasion, "No Substitute"

YEEEAAAAAH! We're talking hair metal today and nothing is off limits, - not even Gene Simmons' taste in soup. Aug and Mack discuss the short shelf life of the genre, the limited themes hair metal is able to convey, and the subtle art of the hair metal song title metaphor.

The First Annual X-Games

The First Annual X-Games

In this monumental supersized episode, we torment each other beyond imagination with the first installment of the Music Hell X-Games! August and Mack are pitted against each other in a competition of bad taste, and only one man will walk away as the victor. We also debut a new fan-favorite segment - that's right, we're playing Kidz Bop Writer's Room. The gang's all here and drinking a little too much to make for a good episode, but you'll listen to it anyway!

Don't forget to subscribe and review us, and email us at MusicHellPod@gmail.com to recommend future X-Game contenders.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, "Spoons"

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, "Spoons"

By far the worst song we've covered and the maddest we've gotten on air! Today in Music Hell, we talk about Macklemore's twee cringefest "Spoons" and the corny rapper's history of diminishing his attempts to talk about serious issues by tripping over his own self-serving unawareness. Other topics include Macklemore hanging out with cops, his 9/11 conspiracy tweet, and how we wish he would "Mackle less." We had to hear this awful song so now you do too. Sorry!

Email us at MusicHellPod@gmail.com to request a song or send fan mail. Rate and review us, that also helps us out. Honestly I just edited this episode and after having to hear "Spoons" again I can't bring myself to write jokes for this.

Jeff Barry, "The Face From Outer Space"

Jeff Barry, "The Face From Outer Space"

"Hell"-o there everyone. Yeesh, who writes this stuff? Today in hell, we're listening to a terrible novelty song from a legendary songwriter. We discuss beeps and boops, the Cajun accent, and even deliver some our famous "presidential impressions."

Pitchfork's Review of "Kid A"

Pitchfork's Review of "Kid A"

In Music Hell's first "very special" episode and our first look at a non-music medium, Mack and August read the funniest segments from Pitchfork Media's review of the 2001 album "Kid A" by Radiohead, examine how the author's bizarre fixation on Radiohead led to his own falling out with the company, and dive into some of Pitchfork's lowest reviews that effectively ended the careers of some independent artists. Now that's edu-tainment!

EDIT: In the time between our recording of this episode and its release, it was been reported that Mark Kozelek of Sun Kil Moon has done some heinous things and is 100% deserving of being cancelled. He's a bad person who doesn't deserve to be defended at all.

Santana ft. Chad Kroeger, "Into The Night"

Santana ft. Chad Kroeger, "Into The Night"

They have "gone and done it" this time. We talk about some terrible music made by one icon and one guy known for making terrible music. Subjects include Santana's horrible taste in collaborators, the influence of Nelson Mandela on both of our musicians, and a stadium of people chanting "SEX!"

Oh no. Today August and Mack tackle big boy Steven Seagal, a bad man and notorious grifter who also released two albums of terrible blues music. We examine standout dub dance track "Strut" and also talk about Seagal's political beliefs, failed energy drink, and the president of Belarus gifting him a watermelon. It's all here baby!

Andrew Allen, "Loving You Tonight"

Yeesh. August and Mack talk through a song by pop wunderkind Andrew Allen as well as the phenomenon of bland, forgettable music being drilled into the heads of retail workers, Allen's parody song career, and deliver a new edition of fan favorite segment "Canadian Pop Quiz." This is the best episode of a podcast anyone has ever released!

Mack and August welcome you to Music Hell in our first look at the music of the damned. Today we examine what happens when an emo band goes country as we take a look at Boys Like Girls' album "Crazy World," which effectively ended their recording career. We talk about the disingenuousness of it all, the obvious cash grab, and Edward 40 Hands.
