Over the years, I've employed hundreds of cold DMs in hopes of landing guests with some level of celebrity status. Most of the time -- the silence is deafening. BUT Sometimes, the responses and conversations that follow are quite literally life changing. This was one of those interviews that altered my course. And I'm so thankful for it. Enjoy! The Power of Consistent Action
Perhaps the greatest lesson I have learned from showing up and publishing weekly podcasts for 3 years, is that consistency breeds authority. People look to an authority because they know they can count on them. They know they can count on them, because they can find them in the exact place, at the exact time -- CONSISTENTLY. How consistent are you? Need help with your consistency? Check out www.mylesbiggs.com for details on how I can help.

Why is this "one fun story" you might ask? Well, listen and find out! But, seriously, it's fun on so many levels. Fun because it happened pre-pandemic and could be done in person ( I miss those types of interviews! ) Fun because I squeezed it in on my way to audition for a TEDx Talk. Fun because Adam is a total badass and his story gets me pumped up. Happy St. Patrick's Day! I hope this episode reminds you that the only way to truly be "lucky" is to put yourself in the right place at the right time, surrounded by the right people. People tell me that I'm lucky. With the success of this podcast, my book, etc. They attribute some of it to luck. But, this episode is a piece of the hard work I've done and an example of how I have had to push myself out of my comfort zone, try new things, and meet new people. I hope it motivates you to try something new, too. Love this episode? Leave me a message telling me how much here: https://anchor.fm/myles-biggs/message

Jay Velar was the first person I interviewed for a podcast that I had never met or spoken to before. It was a big deal for me. Listening back to it, it was an interview I needed at the time, and needed to hear again now. Just Plain Silly
Over the years I have learned that podcasting does not have to be a completely serious endeavor. At the end of the day, it's just an audio experiment. We mix and match different variables until we find what feels right. This was a fun experiment I did with Claire in Season 1, Episode 25. I hope it makes you laugh as much as it makes me laugh! This is, by far, one of my favorite podcast episodes. Brandon Poliszuk gets fired up when he speaks, and that fires me up. Brandon's three words in Season 1, Episode 57 were I'm Not Done. In the years since this interview was first released, he's lived up to that mantra time and time again. If you like what Brandon had to say, you'll love his chapter in my book, Unseen Work: Why the best path to your goals is not always a straight line. Years ago, I called up Pat out of the blue and asked him if I could record our conversation for a podcast I was starting. The rest is history. The bulk of this episode originally appeared as Season 1, Episode 7 of Relish The Journey, where Pat said the three words he would use to describe his life/journey so far were "To The Summit." Years later, this conversation still holds up -- from Pat's outlook on life, to getting baby chickens delivered in the mail, there's plenty to enjoy. Claire is the most downloaded / streamed guest in Relish The Journey history. Originally airing as Season 1, Episode 6, this interview with Claire took place a few months after we came home from the hospital with our first son. And now, it's re-airing a month after welcoming our second son into the world. Claire and I reminisce on how we met and fell in love and she gets emotional over what it's been like to become a mother. Claire is awesome (I know I'm a little biased) , it's no wonder that after over 200 episodes, people still listen to her story the most. Enjoy! There are many sides to adoption and Hannah Eloge has formed a true community to acknowledge them all. Hannah is the founder of Kindred + Co, which stands for Kindred and Community. As Hannah and her husband started their adoption journey, they were hungry for stories of people just like them and stories from the other legs of the adoption triad. When she couldn’t really find a place she felt comfortable - she created one. Our conversation around starting the business and her personal adoption journey got incredibly deep. I’m grateful for Hannah’s willingness to be so open and vulnerable! Follow Kindred + Co. on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kindredand.co/

RTJ #48 - Big Tough Girl (featuring Ashley Mitchell)
Ashley Mitchell is the queen of "owning her shit." And I love it! This episode was incredibly fun to record. It's the first with a co-host - I was joined by Kate Williard from Episode 33, Love Over Fear. It was Kate's episode where I was first brought into the "Wild West" that seems to be the world of adoption. Kate mentioned that Big Tough Girl was an account she drew strength from on Instagram, and BOOM, fast forward a few months and we made the follow-up interview happen. I would never describe Ashley as big. But she is for sure one badass, tough girl. And her heart and her personality are most-definitely big. Larger than life. Ashley chose to give her first child up for adoption. At that point in her life, she was not ready to provide for another human being. Her mission now is to bring that side of the story to an adoption community seemingly dominated by the adoptive parent perspective instead of the birth parent perspective. Grab a cup of coffee, hunker down, and get ready for an emotional roller coaster, where most importantly, you will LEARN something. We never know what other people have battled or are going through. Extend grace. Always. Follow Ashley: http://www.bigtoughgirl.com/ Follow Kate: http://www.instagram.com/kateelisewill

Dan Woods and Adrian Bernard are two high school buds who have reconnected after college and are both navigating their way through their twenties and the Big Apple.
