Hello!  It's been a couple weeks since our last Meditation Monday...thank you for being here.  Today's meditation is about going deep into the ground and rooting ourselves to other through the Earth.  Allow your self to feel connected to the Earth, to each other and to your center.

This week, we take a look at each part of us: the different roles we play and how to acknowledge the challenges and the positives from each of those roles and how they work to create the larger whole of who we are.  This meditation is an adaptation from a few other meditations that I have used in my practice.

In an effort to highlight some local Kansas City gems this episode is one of the first in a series I hope to sprinkle in throughout the year!  

Roy Harryman is the publisher of Kansas City Hiker - website, FB & IG page.  He is a lifelong resident and hiker of the Kansas City area.  Roy was introduced to trails and hiking as a preschooler. That’s when his dad took him on frequent outings to keep him from annoying the rest of the household with hyperactivity and general mayhem. Through the years Roy has hiked in and visited many national parks and forests. But he never left KC, raised his family here and has undertaken many hiking adventures with them. Roy still finds it thrilling to discover wonders of nature right outside his front door. The goal of Kansas City Hiker is to help you do the same. All the hikes and trails on the website have been personally trekked by him and with his daughter often times.

Ana Dorotea is a numerologist and teacher.  Her hope is "to share the great love and respect I have for numbers and for the messages they convey to us."

Book recommendation: Numerology: The Complete Guide by Matthew Oliver Goodwin

The Loving-Kindness Meditation can be found in various forms of adaptation originally stemming from the Buddhist technique of "metta."  Continue to use this meditation over and again.  And, as you become comfortable with the feelings of compassion and gratitude attached to each phrase begin directing the compassion and gratitude toward those you love.  Finally, when you feel comfortable with directing meditations to others consider including those people in your life who you may struggle to find compassion for.  It's a wonderful practice in love and compassion for ourselves and others.  

This is the final meditation for 2020!  We made it...now, let's take a moment to reflect on the highs and the lows of this year and it all brought us to this moment.  Happy New Year to all you magical and powerful beings!! Thank you for taking the time to share space with me.
