Ep47 Runar Jonsson, PRS International Director
The PRS is growing daily and if you follow them on social media you have probably noticed the new international additions to the PRS. One of the faces behind the new additions is, Runar Jonsson. Runar is from Norway and a great ambassador to the sport, this is evident by his hard work to grow the PRS in Europe and across the world. Ken Wheeler along with Runar Johnson have big plans for the future of our sport. This episode we get to know who he is and what is going on inside the PRS.
Ep46 Who is Chris Kutalek? The end got cut off, but it was time to get one out...
Chris and I discuss the world championships and then finally get to some strategy. Sorry the last few minutes got cut off, but I wanted to get this one out there anyway.
Ep45 Austin Orgain
Austin and I talk about what makes him so good at this game and discuss strategies to run different stages. We get into what makes Oklahoma so special in the development of top level shooters. We talk practice routines, combating burn-out, trooplines, and more. Hope you enjoy it!
Ep44 Ruger PRC With Chad Heckler
Chad Heckler and I discuss our recent experiences shooting the Koenig-Ruger Precision Rifle Challenge in Cameo, CO. We talk about what made the match difficult for each of us individually and discuss possible solutions. We talk mental mistakes, organization, mindset and more. For those of you who don't know, Chad is the co-host of the Miles to Matches podcast and a great human. If you haven't had a chance to listen in on their podcast you are missing out.
Ep43 Snake River Outdoorsman Day 1 With Brady Allinson
Brady and I talk about our struggles on day one and what we think makes these matches hard. NRL Hunter matches offer a completely different set of challenges that are super fun to handle when you are used to shooting standard PRS matches, but they can be discouraging if you not familiar with their format. We chat about that and how things went.
Ep42 Wind and Target Card Solo
I get a bunch of questions on how to handle a lot of wind and I think target card is a step in the right direction.
Ep41 Update on the last episode
I am not sure what happened to the last episode's audio, but Brian and I will redo it and get it back up.
Ep39 Trigger Control With Brian Neace
This is a follow up to the last episode with Brady Allinson. I have Brian on to talk about some recent matches and our practice sessions that have shed some light on the psychology of making a good shot and separating the shot process from the mechanics of a stage.
Ep38 Trigger Control With Brady Allinson
Brady and I talk about what I consider to be one of the hardest fundamentals to put into practice. It is a discussion that I feel has not been given enough face time in the precision rifle community and one that I hope to draw some attention to. In this episode we dive into what makes it difficult, why I think it can never be mastered and is therefore inherently perishable, and we discuss some of the ways that we have tried to improve our implementation of this fundamental.
Ep37 Tips On Flying With Guns With Brady Allinson
This episode Brady and I give our experiences on flying with guns. Hopefully this helps on your next flight to a match.
Ep36 "The Perfect Day" With The Reigning AG Cup Champ Ben Gossett
Ben Gossett has been one of the best shooters in the PRS for the last several years and in December he won the 2022 AG Cup in phenomenal fashion. When the largest purse in our sport, $30,000 dollars, was on the line he not only won, but he didn't miss a shot the entire day. It was a pretty epic feat that will live on in infamy for many years as one of the most clutch moments in our sport.
Ep35 Strike Without Warning!
BJ DeGroot, the owner of Strike Without Warning, and I discuss his recent move to the states. We talk about what he has seen in the similarities and differences in the precision rifle sport in the US vs Australia. We also resurrect the give away that was supposed to take place last fall and are going to try and make good on our promise to get a brake into the hands of a listener.
Ep34 Snake River Standoff PRS Match Preshow
Ep33 Austin Buschman, how does he do it? Part 2
Second of a two part series, where Austin Buschman and I talk about how he approaches the game. He has a lot of great insides and techniques. I hope y'all get a lot out of these episodes.
Ep32 Austin Buschman, how does he do it? Part 1
First of a two part series where Austin Buschman and I discuss how he plays the game and what makes him so good.
Ep31 Talking Troop Lines with Tate Streater
On this episode I talk with Tate Streater, owner of Impact Precision and cofounder of JTAC Precision. He is one of the best shooters and PRS shooting instructors in the world. We take some time to unpack how he goes about shooting a troop line and the skills it takes to be successful at it. We talk about brackets, making corrections, reading plates, etc... You may need a notepad for this episode, I know I did. I hope you enjoy the sneak peak into one of the greatest minds our sport has to offer.
Ep30 PRS Classifications, Our Predictions, and Stock/Chassis Fit
Paul and I BS about a few different subjects. Hope you enjoy the episode. Sorry about the delay, life has been crazy the last few weeks.
Ep29 Troubleshooting zero issues and how much do you have to pay for a good setup?
Brady and I discuss various topics and hit a couple good topics that I think y'all will be interested in. Zero issues and shifts will drive a guy crazy if you don't know what things can and do effect it. I see a lot of guys changing their zero when their gun may actually be zeroed, but other things are making it appear to be off. We talk about things that we watch for and when we will or won't change our zero. We also discuss the price tag of high-end setups and if they are worth it. We answer the question, "can you get something better for less money?"
Ep28 Pre-Match Wind and Load Development with Paul Higley
Paul and I discuss our process for preparing for wind before a match and the differences in wind at different locations. Then we get into the science of accuracy and load development.
Ep26 Mansplaining: Becoming Unconsciously Competent
This episode I talk about a topic that has been on my mind for quite a while; unconscious competence and processing capacity. This is a pretty cerebral topic, but I feel like it is one that explains a lot of issues shooters have and sheds light on where we should focus our efforts in practice in order to improve.
Thanks for listening!

Ep24 Q/A: Kestrels-Wind, AJ, and Data

Thanks for listening!

Ep13 Caliber selection and Short Action Customs Blue Ridge Rumble PRS match recap with Brady and Paul.
We discuss the hot topic of caliber selection. When people learn that I am shooting 6.5 Creedmoor it catches many people's attention in the precision rifle competition community. While the 6.5 Creed is a wildly popular cartridge, it has become less popular among PRS/NRL competitors in favor of lower recoiling cases like the 6 Dasher, 6 BR, and 6 BRA. I personally have shot the 6 Dasher for several years and love the round. It allowed competitors to shoot the same BC bullet the same speed as a 6.5 creed or 6.5x47L with significantly less recoil. With the advent of 153-156 class of bullets from Berger and Hornady, the extra BC has made the 6.5s look more and more appealing. The question is the bang worth the buck?
We recorded this podcast on the drive home from the SAC Blue Ridge Rumble PRS match, that was held in Benge, Washington. We discuss the match and how we felt about it. It was a great match, with several unique stages that challenged everyone.
Ep12 Two-day vs one-day matches, training, and pre-stage processes, with Paul Higley and Brady Allinson.
In this episode Paul Higley, Brady Allinson, and I, discuss a listener question about transferring local match performance to a two-day match.
