51 - The History of Hermeneutics - Jewish Hermeneutics: Ezra to Hillel
On this episode, I continue the new series on the history of hermeneutics. I begin with Ezra and show how Ezra's ministry launched a new concept of oral interpretation and translation, which would eventually become the Talmud. From Ezra to Hillel, the oral tradition continued to grow. It was Hillel who instituted the rules of hermeneutics used in the rabbinic system.
