Episode 1: Intro to Mid-Career Transitions with Dr Jo Hamilton

Episode 1: Intro to Mid-Career Transitions with Dr Jo Hamilton

In this inaugural episode, Nancy Governor talks with Jo Hamilton, PhD MBA about mid-career transitions.

Nancy is a business process expert with 14 years of experience in higher education, helping universities design, improve and implement organizational transformation across all aspects of the integrated student lifecycle, prospect to graduate. Her career has been about taking an idea, a new strategic initiative, and bringing it to life and continuing to improve it. Today, she's in the middle of her own mid-career transition.

Jo has 20+ years as a leader in higher ed and ed tech in both the US and around the globe. She has developed universities from the ground up, and launched hundreds of educational programs in North and South America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Today, Jo (with her husband Joe!) owns and operates a company that connects job seekers and employers and helps build a more inclusive workplace.

Topics in Part I include:

  • Jo's own mid-career transition (and smaller ones along the way)
  • The work Jo does today to help mid-career job seekers find new jobs, including those with disabilities and/or have gaps in their resumes
  • The types of clients Jo works with and how she helps them
  • How Jo has utilized her education background to help clients identify training opportunities

These topics are especially relevant in this COVID-19 environment, where many people are out of work and may need to start looking outside of the comfort of their existing profession to find a new job.

Please join the introductory conversation and we'll be posting Parts 2 and 3 soon!
