One this weeks episode of N2M I chat with Dr. Jeremy Tubbs. Jeremy is the Director of Music and Entertainment at The University of Memphis, Lambuth Campus. Dr. Tubbs teaches music history and theory, music technology, performance practices, and music business. He also provides academic advising to all Music and Entertainment majors. He and I chat about music business academia, what makes a student successful in the world, and how working from home is becoming the norm.

This week I chat with producer/engineer extraordinaire Kevin Houston. Kevin has worked with the likes of Robert Plant, North Mississippi All Stars, Patty Griffin, Buddy Guy, Walter Trout, Lucero, etc. Kevin and I talk about his journey in the business, how the industry has changed and what it takes to not only thrive but survive in the long haul. She then went on to pursue a degree in the field at Visible Music College, where she managed a summer tour with Visible Worship, worked under Boo Mitchell of Royal Studios in Memphis and went on to hold various Los Angeles internships in the summers before graduating in 2016. She now lives in Los Angeles and works for Faculty Management and Productions, running day-to-day operations for major worship band, Mosaic MSC and rising indie-pop star, Riah. With 25 years of international touring experience, 5 gold records and 2 Grammy Awards, Jonathan JP Parker has had a thriving career in the music business.  Working with such bands as Wilco, The Fray, Liz Phair and Brandi Carlile just to name a few,  he has enjoyed success in both the studio and on the road.  Currently JP enjoys raising his family, leading worship and producing Christian music and voice overs at his recording studio 7 Spin Music nestled quietly in the suburbs of Chicago. This week I talk with my old classmate, Dr. Tim Drinkwine. Tim spent years as an educator, administrator and leader and then….and then…he had a Jerry McGuire moment and left it all.
