Nurses Against Violence Unite, Inc.

By Dr. Sandy
Violence is at an all-time high among nurses according to studies and many incidents are not reported. The issues begin from the foundation of the nursing curriculum and the lack of resources not given to those on the front line of this opioid epidemic or adequate mental health education. Compounding this issue is the lack of reporting of incidents due to the fear of organizational retaliation.
Nurses and all of those on the front line are suffering and it is time to make the change that healthcare needs, otherwise we will continue to lose nurses and nursing staff.

This week we have a wonderful guest and moderator for NAVUnite that has committed herself to help other individuals that have been sexually assaulted and degraded while doing her job.  Who could Candie talk to when nobody will listen? We are proud to have her as she truly cares and discusses her truth to help others in her similar situation.   If you or someone that you know is a first responder, yes nurses too, please come join our free support group on Facebook!

Slow down & smell the roses
In the rush of the hustle and bustle, it tends to overshadow the importance of relationships and how sometimes we just have to stop or slow down a minute. Life passes us by in an instant but for those left behind, a simple warm smile and a friendly face changes the whole experience of another. I say this with all heart, Dr. Sandy
