New Season, October 5, 2023

New Season, October 5, 2023

Season 4 of NCHV’s The Road Home podcast is coming soon! In previous seasons, we explored traditional affordable housing development projects, innovative short-term approaches, and housing justice as the means to ending veteran homelessness. This season we’ll take a turn and examine solidarity as a critical piece of the effort and identify how collective action can impact an individual veteran’s ability to access affordable housing.

Ending veteran homelessness requires all hands on deck. We need to partner to create a path forward that works for the most vulnerable veterans and resists the obstacles they face. And that is what we’ll talk about this season. We’ll discuss how collective action and working together impact affordable housing and delve into practices that help realize this goal.

Joins us for this vital conversation...

Season 3 is Coming Soon!

Season 3 is Coming Soon!

Season 3 of NCHV’s The Road Home podcast is coming soon! In Seasons 1 and 2 we explored traditional affordable housing development projects, and innovative short-term approaches, respectively, as the means to ending veteran homelessness. In Season 3 our focus will shift to examine housing justice as an integral piece of the effort to end veteran homelessness. Using an equity lens, we’ll explore how specific demographic characteristics impact an individual veteran’s ability to access affordable housing.  If we want to end homelessness for veterans, we need to create a path forward that works for the most vulnerable and repairs the harmful impacts of systemic inequities and institutional racism. And that is what we'll talk about this season. We’ll discuss how specific demographic characteristics impact affordable housing access and delve into strategies and projects that mitigate those impacts. We hope you enjoy this important conversation.
