   In 1996 Hey Arnold! premiered on Nickelodeon. Running from 1996-2004, Hey Arnold! was a special Nicktoon which ended with 5 seasons and 2 movies. While Hey Arnold! is a legendary kid's cartoon (Nicktoon) from the 90s with many amazing episodes, one episode stands out as a true timeless classic. 

      On December 11, 1996 Hey Arnold! released a seemingly obligatory Christmas episode as most television series will do at least once. But the Hey Arnold Christmas episode is truly something special. The Hey Arnold Christmas episode, aptly named "Arnold's Christmas" takes many of the tropes and elements of a standard Christmas episode and, as Hey Arnold was fond of doing, giving meaning and depth by focusing on the inner struggles of its characters.   

     While Arnold is the main character, the story is really about background character Mr. Hyunh.   In today's LTA, Nerd Talk Dan will discuss not only why the Hey Arnold Christmas episode was a good story, but why it's on his list of Christmas must watches.  90s kids take a nostalgic trip down memory lane as we discuss 90s Nick holiday classic "Arnold's Christmas"

Star Trek Discovery Season 3 Episode 5 Review | Die Trying 

 Star Trek Discovery season 3 episode 5 "Die Trying" is out and Nerd Talk Dan is back in Star Trek mode and doing his Star Trek Discovery season 3 episode 5 review.  The Discovery and her crew have at long last arrived at Federation HQ. The Federation, the good guy interstellar alliance in Star Trek has all but collapsed but this small fragment of the grand idea of peace between worlds remains and continue to do their best in a post Burn galaxy.

Star Trek Discovery Season 3 Episode 4 Review | Forget Me Not  

Star Trek Discovery season 3 episode 4 "Forget Me Not" is out and Nerd Talk Dan is back in Star Trek mode and doing his Star Trek Discovery season 3 episode 4 review. 

After an eye-opening trip to Earth, former center of the Federation, the crew of the Discovery picks up Adira, a mysterious human who may hold the key to discovering the last remnants of the Federation.   Arriving on the planet Trill to help Adira, can these once loyal members of the Federation help the Discovery and her crew unlock Adira's memories?  Back on Discovery, the crew is on edge and we see the threads connecting Star Trek Discovery with the Star Trek Short Trek episode Calypso begin to take shape.  

How has a once valued member of the Federation adapted to a post Federation galaxy? Does the Discovery truly have any hope to reunite the galaxy under the banner of the Federation?  Along the way what kinds of people will we meet in this post Federation galaxy?

Anthony Bourdain was a rebel rock star who took us on wild adventures around the world on his various shows from A Cook's Tour, The Layover, No Reservations, and Parts Unknown. Parts Unknown with Anthony Bourdain was a great final culmination for Anthony Bourdain's vision. A look at not only the food of a region, but her culture and people. Anthony Bourdain's was great at his ability to humanize the people and nations he visited.

Star Trek Discovery Season 3 Episode 1 Review | That Hope Is You Part 1   

On October 16 Star Trek Discovery season 3 premiered with episode 1 "That Hope is You Part 1" and Nerd Talk Dan is back in Star Trek mode and doing his Star Trek Discovery season 3 episode 1 review.  After managing to stop the AI menace from season 2, Michael Burnham jumps to the 32nd century to stop another machine menace from threatening the Federation again.  Thrown into this new grim galaxy, Michael and the crew of the Discovery will face a time and place where Star Trek's perennial good guys the United Federation of Planets and their exploratory wing Starfleet has fallen following a catastrophic event called the Burn.  

How will Michael and her ragtag band of friends from a more innocent time in history deal with the harsh realities of the future and can they uncover the mystery of what caused the Burn as well as rekindle the light of the Federation?  Along the way what kinds of people will we meet in this post Federation galaxy? We encounter a new and immediately beloved character in the form of Sahil, who has been keeping a small spark of the Federation alive and embodying the best parts of Star Trek.
