062 | Self-Diagnosis Is Valid
Hi there, this episode makes me a bit nervous to post because it's definitely more controversial, but this is what I believe: self-diagnosis is valid. 038 | How to Be Your Neurodivergent Self in a Neurotypical World
Being your true self is always hard, but when you're neurodivergent, it's often even harder. We're told, over and over, not to be ourselves. To act "normal," to stop being so "weird." Neurodivergent folks come up with all kinds of ways to hide who they really are, but at the end of the day, this only ends up hurting us. We will never be neurotypical, no matter how hard we pretend. But many of us struggle to really be ourselves after years or even decades of hiding. In today's episode, we talk about three key strategies for being your true self in a world that doesn't always welcome it. Check it out and start being yourself today. 027 | Riding the Wave (With a Surfboard, If Needed)
I used to hate the advice to "ride the waves" of my emotions because it felt like my emotions weren't cute little waves, they were tidal waves and I didn't know how to ride that kind of wave. But now I realize that, no matter how big my emotions are, it never helps to fight them. Accepting my emotions (and myself) is the key to surviving those huge tidal waves. Well, that and the emotional equivalent of a surfboard.
