Ontario alt-rock band Locket has crafted a definitive statement with Superluminal, a creatively ambitious yet firmly focused effort. The band singer/guitarist Brad Garcia, guitarist Cory Bergeron and bassist Travis Morrison — formed in Markham in 2012 and was originally known as Safe to Say. They released their independent debut album With Everything in Between in 2013 and followed it with the Hiding Games EP (SideOneDummy) in 2015 and their second album Down in the Dark (New Damage) in 2016. Over a period of five years, the band toured across Canada, the U.S., Europe, and the U.K., including a summer on the Warped Tour. They went on hiatus in 2017, regrouped two years later under the new name Locket, and released All Out (Fearless) in late 2019. The record earned raves from Billboard, The Alternative, and New Noise, while the single “Hunnie” racked up more than 1.3 million Spotify streams.
