14. 10 Elements of Good Work
In this solocast, Chad talks about the value of a good day's work.  Here are some takeaways from the show.  Aim for purpose not success. If you hit purpose you get both. “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.” Genesis 2:15, NIV84 THREE primary questions to consider: Is God glorified? Is this bringing good into the world? How is it showing love for neighbor? PROBLEMS to Overcome Chasing Success Chasing what success brings Being a workaholic. Laziness Working to avoid responsibilities at home. Changing jobs. (Starting over) 10 Elements of Good Work Pursue mastery of your work. (gain more skill, education, etc.) Work as you are working for God, not men. Don’t compartmentalize your work. Be happy that you get to work. Don’t settle for less than your best. (Excellence in Everything) Work ethically, morally, and be generous with your earnings. Make yourself indispensable. Don’t be afraid to give knowledge away. Don’t judge another generations work patterns. Passion follows mastery. 11. Fatherhood Hacks with Patrick Antonucci
Patrick and Chad have been friends for a while and you can tell. Their conversation flows very well and they give several things to apply as men and as dads. Patrick's work with dads is vast and his passion for honoring God in his efforts personally and with Dad Hackers is obvious.  In this discussion you will find:  Generous, Kind, and Family Man are admirable qualities. 10. The Good Life
In this episode, the third pillar, spiritual maturity (growth) is on the docket. This is the Good Life. The Good Life is found in a walk with Jesus Christ. Chad talks about his failures, his upbringing and how he is living the Good Life now.  He discusses that the good life exists when we spend time with Jesus, become like Jesus and do what Jesus did.  He, also, connects with four different points from Dallas Willard in his book, The Great Omission.  There is absolutely nothing in what Jesus himself or his early followers taught that suggests you can decide just expense and have nothing more to do with him. If you don’t become an apprentice of Jesus you will not be about the Kingdom, you will remain locked in defeat MORALLY AS FAR AS intentions are concerned. Only avid discipleship to Christ through the Spirit brings the inward transformation of thought, feeling, and character that “cleans the inside of the cup” (Matthew 23:25) and “makes the tree good” (Matthew 12:33). For the one who makes sure to walk as close to Jesus as possible there comes the reliable exercise of a power that is beyond them in dealing with the problems and evils that afflict earthly existence. 6. Intellectual Ability
Intellectual ability is the first podcast where Chad drills down into the pillars of A New Kind of Man.  The Albert Einstein quote that was mentioned, "One should not pursue goals that are easily achieved. One must develop an instinct for what one can just barely achieve through one's greatest effort." Chad mentioned Thomas Aquinas and a more full explanation of his take can be found here.   An ordinary mind, well disciplined, will accomplish more and higher work than will the most highly educated mind and the greatest talents without self control.
