100 - The Simple Secrets of the Successful
We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our supporters, listeners, and followers out there. Thank you for being with us on this podcast journey. 100 anything is quite a feat. What happens when you have 100 conversations about success principles? This week’s episode is about reflecting on the things we already know… and the dangers of taking them for granted because of how well we know them! We coaches find ourselves in a special setting for this week’s episode… on Lake Norman during our mid-year coaching retreat. We reflect on our 100-episode journey so far… and where we see this podcast going in the future. Again, we hope you enjoy these conversations, and we thank you for being here!

99 _ Crucial Conversations (Gun Control & Abortion) w/ Coach Z
Why is it that when we have highly emotional, high-stakes conversations, we perform at our worst? This week, Coach Jon Z and I tackle the most controversial topics we could come up with to prove that our approach to CRUCIAL CONVERSATIONS works! There are 3 ingredients to crucial conversations: High emotions High stakes Opposing opinions We were unscripted and uncensored during this week’s #truthseekers conversation talking about gun control and abortion – 2 of the most highly charged topics in the forefront of our worlds today. The Fool’s Choice is feeling like you have to choose between being honest and keeping a friend. That just simply isn’t good enough for us. We want a better way. Watch as we create safety in the conversation before debating the finer points of each topic. What do I want? What do I want for the other person? What do I want for the relationship? Let’s dive in…

98 - Dive Into Growth More Fearlessly
Can growth feel good? Might you be associating growth with uncomfortability? If yes, then this conversation is for you! Growth and comfort are 2 sides of the same coin - yin and yang. We cycle back and forth like a pendulum, enjoying brief moments of equilibrium, only to swing further towards one direction vs. the other (growth vs. comfort). What is that phenomena? How can we hack it so that we make more progress, more smoothly? What is dynamic equilibrium? The coaches have their analogies on point during this week's #truthseekers conversation as they walk through what exactly goes on during our path to achievement in business and in life.

97 - What is the Coaching Path - Part II
This week’s #truthseekers conversation is a continuation of last week’s conversation about the coaching path. Whether or not you have decided to invest in coaching, this episode is for anyone who feels like they are leaving something on the table. What we mean by that is: there is more. You are capable of more. There is more to achieve, more quickly. There is another level you have yet to unlock. You have reached your potential only to discover there is more potential beyond that. There is no outcome without the journey. There are no shortcuts. Check out Part II of this conversation to see what we mean…

96 _ What is the Coaching Path - Part 1
Are you willing to take the next step? That’s really what success is, isn’t it? Progress. Our journey to achievement is made up of dozens and hundreds of tiny steps. The difference between extremely successful people and people who accomplish very little is miniscule! Highlight those things. Make them important. Since they are so simple, we are at risk of breezing right over them and taking them for granted. On this week’s episode of #truthseekers, Coach Nick walks us through the Exploratory Phase of the coaching process. The importance of slowing down and directing our focus towards the things we achieve not only creates the space to achieve more, but it affirms the path we are on. It clarifies where we are headed. “Clear is kind. Unclear is unkind.” See what else you pick up from this week’s episode of #truthseekers

95 - Simplify to Optimize
As your success grows, the models you must adopt to achieve more must become simpler. Think about it... leverage trumps effort every time. Your efforts are only needed to establish enough momentum until you can reverse the flow... have your work, work for you. You must do more more more more more, then all of a sudden, you must figure out a way to do less! This is just part of what we talk about on this week's episode of #truthseekers. How unstoppable might you become if you slowed down and actually DEFINED what success meant to you? Let's discuss...

94 - Pay It Forward - Share the Wealth
"The more reps you put in, the less you can see the impact of the reps you put in." "Even with my certain things, I am still open to a blue blade of grass." "If you're not convicted to lead with the beliefs that you have, what you're saying is that I'm trusting a future version of me more than now; and that version will be better so I can't be who I am until I'm the next version of who I am, and tomorrow never comes." 4 levels of learning: 1. Unconscious Incompetence 2. Conscious Incompetence 3. Conscious Competence 4. Unconscious Competence "Nothing surprises me anymore; but also, everything surprises me." We let this week's episode of #truthseekers speak for itself. Please enjoy some of our favorite quote, quips, and takeaways above, and dare to immerse yourself in the REAL thing by watching the full conversation!

93 - The Story You're Telling Yourself
What's the story you're telling yourself? Sometimes we find ourselves having lousy days, or days that we're low energy, or days that we're not getting results that we want. It is inherent upon us to reflect when we have those days, and think about the story we are telling ourselves. Where are we playing the character in those stories? What are our attributes? And how much influence and control do we have over our stories into the future? On this episode of #truthseekers, we talk about metabolic, emotional, and energetic flexibility, and we talk about the control and the power we have over creating what winning looks like. If we don't define what winning is, do we even have a chance? We hope this special episode of #truthseekers Coach's Corner w/ Coach Nick Davies, and myself, Coach Josh Greco.

92 - More Yes's to Get Started; More No's Once You Get Going
Coach Nick and I break down the science of expansion on this week's episode of #truthseekers. We break down the shift in consciousness when we experience "crazy" on a consistent basis... or when we experience "busy" on a consistent basis. For example, when we experience something crazy for 10 days in a row, is it still crazy? Likewise, if we are busy for 10 days in a row, are we still busy? We break it down in this week's conversation!

91 - Setting the Stage w/ Coach Nick Davies
"The more that we achieve - the more that we accomplish - so, too, expands our capacity... our potential." Stretching what we are capable of is like blowing up a balloon... sure, the air could go out. But the balloon will never go back to the way it was. The same is true with what we are capable of. As we sit here today, we are as capable as our past experiences allow us to be. Therefore, we must conclude that more experience expands our capacity and potential - especially the ones that stretch us. Embrace the stretch. On today's special edition of #truthseekers Coach's Corner, Coach Nick and I offer a different perspective when it comes to manifesting your future life. How far into the future can you see? We challenge you to see farther!

90 - Living in the Era of Great Disruptions
"Continuous improvement is in my DNA" ~ #truthseekers guest Tamar Nelson. Drawing from the industrial and systems knowledge she accumulated in Japan, Tamar now makes it a point to always go to “Gemba” or the shop floor, enlisting and empowering those who work within the system/organization to improve operations continually. Using this knowledge at an organization in Jamaica, this group was able to raise 2.5 million USD of savings in one year through a handcrafted improvement methodology. She now aims to recreate this achievement within every organization she is involved by building frameworks that yield results. She remains committed to reengineering any problem by way of converting complexity into simple solutions for clients, and having fun while doing it. To further explore her passion, Tamar has founded and host The COO’s Corner Podcast, the podcast exploring success factors in the world of business operations. 87 - The Worst Thing You Can Do is Nothing w/ Coach Nick Davies
How intentional are you about the objects in our environment? When does Coach Nick lean towards action over structure (*hint: always)? What does the drive look like from Charlotte to San Diego (and why would we even be talking about that)? And finally, how important is it to be precise in your actions when it comes to BIG HAIRY AUDACIOUS GOALS we are shooting for 10 years down the road? Watch this...

86 - Building Bridges of Belief w/ Coach Nick Davies
Are you playing your own game? Or are you playing someone else’s? On today’s episode of #truthseekers we talk about how to achieve great things. We ask better questions to get better answers. We talk about the dangers of bad affirmations… and the power of good ones. And we talk about the bridge of beliefs – the journey of doing the extraordinary is built upon the consistent actions of doing the routine. “Don’t give your future self your current beliefs” is a great quote from Coach Nick I am taking from today’s episode. And how about that famouse quote from Conor McGregor: "we're not here just to take part, we're here to take over!" Have your ears perked up for this one… it was a good one - enjoy

85 - Get Your Mind Right w/ Todd McCullough
We are sponges in the morning. And we seem to be at our lowest point of stress right when we wake up (our problems haven't manifested yet!)... So why not stack a few good habits and get a BOOST to the rest of your day? This week's conversation with #truthseekers guest Todd McCullough was that, and so much more. "There has to be a deeper why, and a deeper meaning to what we do," says Todd, a former D1 football player at the University of Florida. What this has turned out to be is "giving people a daily connection to working out, and to God each day". Of course we're referring to Todd's TMAC 20: 20 minute workouts. No equipment. No excuses. Where each workout ends with a brief meditation, AKA the MIND RIGHT MEDITATION. We discuss frequently on #truthseekers the importance of integrating the body with the mind throughout our lives. Perhaps no one embodies this more than Todd McCullough, who has helped more than 20,000 people get in shape and get their mind right from home. Needless to say, our conversation was enlightening - enjoy! Find out more about Todd and TMAC FITNESS at https://www.tmacfitness.com/

84 - The $50 Gas Card & The Private Jet Owner
WOW'ing people - what does that mean? How would you do it? What is the reasoning and how might it benefit you? And what would you give someone as a gift who owns a private jet - is it still possible to WOW someone who seems to already have everything? Today's #truthseekers is all about going above and beyond for your clients. This is something more than just servicing your client to the best of your abilities. It's standing out from the crowd so that your competition remains in the background. Listen for a great reminder along the way from Coach Nick about the importance of self care, and the principle that we can't do for other that which we do not do for ourselves. We must fill our own cup before we can think about extending abundance to others. Oh - and make sure you stick around for some outtakes at the end (another #truthseekers first!)...

83 - Holding the Standard w/ Coach Nick Davies
When you're feeling lousy, are you focused on the person you are now, or are you acting in favor of the person you want to be in the future? Holding the standard = not letting yourself off the hook. And the question above is a great reminder that we not only live in the present moment, but our actions in the present are continually sculpting our future. This might seem a little heavy to grasp, "if you hold the standard when you don't want to, that's where you get the most value", so that's why Coach Nick and I have an entire conversation around this subject. So many of our #truthseekers topics focus on how to achieve success. This week's conversation is a good shake up for how to handle feeling lousy... and feeling lousy is something that no one is immune to!

82 - The $30,000 Gateway w/ Richard Kirby
Richard draws upon a 25+ year corporate career that included management positions in sales, HR/training, and engineering management. 81 - How Good Can Life Get? (If you argue for your limitations, you get to keep them)
What's the BIGGEST vision of your future self you can think of? What's the absolute BEST version? What do you do? Who are you? Do you have more money? Are you physically stronger? Are you more loving? Less resentful? Travel more? Are you healthier? It gets to a certain point where you must pick between being a thinker or a doer. You can be both, but once should calibrate the other; because if you're thinking prevents your doing, you've got problems... or rather, your problems will remain the same. See, what happens is when you allow the doing to drive the thinking (and not the other way around), miracles happen. You begin to capitalize on opportunities more swiftly. Your friend hesitation isn't allowed to rear its ugly head. You become a creator of the events, the people, and the world around you. And you move in a state of flow. So how can this be? What happened? When you're a doer, you're only a step away. And if your mentality combines with your instinct and your gut, there's no stopping you. Obstacles are merely stepping stones to what turns out to be what you would have desired more greatly anyway. And then the VISION. When you're in that state, and you've got a good bit of proof behind you that the doer is a rewarding space to be, you can begin to conjure up bigger and better things to take full advantage of the doer mentality. Used in unison together, well... check out this week's episode for our deeper dive into just this!

80 - No More Bad Days w/ Coach Nick Davies
Have you ever had a bad day? Silly question? Maybe not... What if you had no more bad days? Would that immediately improve your life? We know that mindset is important. But perhaps you feel like a fraud... or like you're faking it... or that you're not being your genuine self. Well consider this: What if the bad was part of the good? What if the bad was the last lesson you had to learn before expanding your capacity to receive more goodness in your life...? And upon realizing this, you started to embrace the bad. Dive into. Head first. Celebrate its presence. Talk about life changing... If we lost you a little bit, our #truthseekers conversation this week provides context to this concept. And if you are with us, you'll enjoy the depth we go to in explaining this phenomena!

79 - Expanding the Culturescape - Coach's Corner
It's much more valuable to think outside your current belief systems than it is to be the best at your current ones. When we talk about "expanding the culturescape", we are referring to transcending the belief systems that exist today - pushing the limits of what we know, perceive, and do. All that exists today is because we agree upon its nature. In order to go past that, we must challenge that which we have already accepted to be true. And when we do this, we see MORE! More of what we're capable of. More of what's possible. More of what we previously perceived lay beyond our limits... all now visible before our very eyes. On this week's episode of #truthseekers, see if you can spot the moment where each of our perceptions expanded... and we'd like to hear from you when that moment was for you, too!

78 - Who You Are & What You Do w/ Samantha Morris
So often we define ourselves by "what we do". But is this the same as "who we are"? Who are we??? I navigated this topic with this week's #truthseekers guest Samantha Morris. Samantha is a woman on a mission to inspire women to become entrepreneurs, business leaders and successful business owners in their own right. But this mission didn't happen overnight. Samantha sits here today with experience in a wide variety of things, starting with a stint in the Navy. Listen for what she says about her journey over the past decades, following rules, and how she changed her story of her own identity. It's another reminder that there's no substitute for experience. Samantha has a great foundation with which to coach other female entrepreneurs because not only has she talked the talk, but she has walked the walk... Come talk the talk with us on this week's episode; and please enjoy my conversation with Samantha Morris!

74 - Grieving the Old You - Coach's Corner
Is grief good? Coach Nick Davies may actually agree with Charlie Brown on this one... let me explain. When we level up - in business, life, etc. - we must say goodbye to older, worn out versions of ourselves. We must shed our skin. We must trade our old models of reality for upgraded versions so we can expand. We know this... and yet it seems so very, very hard! Why?! For one thing, we have worked HARD to get to where we are! Why should we stop doing what has gotten us to this point? Embracing this concept might feel like taking instruction from Charlie Brown's teacher - just noise! But maybe not. When we level up from a bad situation to a good one, we are READY to shed our own skin. But when we level up from good to great, we may not be as accepting to give up our old lifestyle, especially if it is producing results. So what is that? Could we level up more quickly if we learn to shed our skin more easily? How can we navigate that process and make it more efficient? You have come to the right place! Pop into this week's #truthseekers episode to start leveling up more quickly... and listen to a message clearer than Miss Othmar's!

73 - Be Your Radiant Self w/ Randa Hoffman
When I say the word "money", what's the first thing that comes to mind? Our beliefs about money come from a number of different sources: what we've been taught, what we've experienced, what we've been exposed to within our social circles, families, friends, etc etc etc. Just curious: have your beliefs around money ever changed? I'll bet they have, and I'll take the liberty of saying they can change again. And it's bound to change once you hear our conversation with this week's #truthseeker's guest Randa Hoffman, owner of Radiant Wealth Planning, LLC. I challenge you to think about what new empowering belief system around money could improve your life as you listen to our conversation with Randa. Randa is the first person I have spoken with that has expressed money has its own frequency. After allowing this concept to swirl around and settle amongst my other beliefs about money, I realized something: she's right! And wait until you hear how she weaves this new belief into an exercise called Mind Mapping.... We, as humans, are verbs - not nouns. We are forever on the go, forever changing. And therefore, our beliefs change the more we see, hear, and experience. So why not adopt a belief system around money that is in alignment with your life's mission - how POWERFUL would that be?! Please enjoy contemplating these concepts with this week's #truthseekers guest Randa Hoffman! And don't forget to check her out on these platforms below - she's worth it! 72 - Passion Doesn't Retire w/ Michelle Fritsch
If you do nothing, your life doesn’t stay the same. It gets worse. To stay sharp, we must always be growing, learning, and in pursuit of something greater than ourselves. That’s what #truthseekers is all about! When you think of SIMPLE SECRETS OF THE SUCCESSFUL, there’s nothing new we don’t already know! This podcast is a reminder of the principles from which we tend to stray when life gets busy or when we get too hard on ourselves. Today’s #truthseekers discussion talks about the importance of staying sharp, even as we enter the latter stages of our professional career, and into retirement. Though Coach Nick mentions he sees himself as retired RIGHT NOW, it’s a great reminder that without a plan… without a meaningful existence… our physical, mental, and emotional health is liable to disintegrate. The driver of today’s topic of WELLNESS is Dr. Michelle Fritsch – a board certified, doctoral trained health professional who has developed a process to help create a clear, rock-solid plan for long-term health, function, and fulfillment. She is a specialist in medication use in people over 60. She is founder of Retirement Wellness Strategies and cofounder of Propel Comprehensive Wellness supporting a transition to health in retirement and beyond. She works with a broad definition of health – physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social. She is also co-founder of Medipreneurs providing support, innovation, and a place to thrive for healthcare innovators. We enjoyed this one! Come engage with us in this week’s discussion with Dr. Michelle Fritsch.

71 - Our Body Communicates Our Truth w/ Coach Jon Zieve
"The more we suppress our feelings, the more we lose ourselves... you become a stranger to yourself - you try to please others. And you are training others to not pay attention to how you feel because you don't pay attention to how you feel, because you suppress how you feel." This is how we live as our "authentic self". It starts with becoming aware when the above situations are occurring, and since over 50% of our communication comes from our body, it always knows when we are betraying our authentic self. During this week's #truthseekers Coach's Corner with Jon Zieve, we get into very specific detail about how to navigate this process. What a difference it makes to know how to live authentically!

70 - Selling Like It's (Not) 1899 w/ Peter Strokorb
The world is changing. So why are you still selling like it's 1899? ...or 1898 to be more precise. As this week's #truthseekers guest Peter Strokorb says, the traditional sales funnel was developed in 1898, and many people still use it today! But perhaps there is a better way... Are you ready to hear a new approach? Are you ready to not only make more sales, but to connect on a deeper level with your clients? Are you ready to be treated as a Subject Matter Expert in what you are most passionate about? And most importantly, are you ready to STOP feeling like you are trying to convince people to buy from you? Ok good - we have a guest on this week's episode to show you how. Let's do this - please enjoy the many nuggets in this week's conversation with sales professional Peter Strokorb!

69 - Finding the Alignment w/ Leniece Lane
We think we want control, but is that really true? Control over what? All the things that happen to us? This doesn't sound like a very winnable game to me. In my experience, life is at its best when I take on the form of water - molding myself into whatever is happening around me. That way, I can choose to enjoy my life, no matter the circumstances. As you listen to this week's #truthseekers guest Leniece Lane, you'll notice she has 2 great endeavors she is equally passionate about. However, as she tells her story, see what you notice about how it started out and how she got to where she is today. Our journeys are never linear. We think we know what we want, but as we try to fit life into this box of how we see things for ourselves, it just doesn't seem to fit. Something amazing happens, however, when we take on a new perspective of what is happening around us to "let it be easy" - we take ourselves out of the equation. And since we have given up control, all of a sudden we have it! Watch this week's episode and you'll see what I mean...

68 - Systematize to Optimize w/ Trinity Furtick
How do you measure opportunity cost with your actions? Have you ever analyzed the return? What if there was a more efficient way to spend your time? Would it be worth it to slow down and check in if it resulted in you spending more time on the things you love to do? Whether you are a business owner, a salesperson, a leader, or a boss, we all have our limits with DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY DIY. At what point do we take that abundance and narrow our focus? This conversation is so important because we achieve different levels in our success. At each new level, we are required to change the things we focus on in order to LEVEL UP again. This week's #truthseekers guest Trinity Furtick talks about leveling up in business in congruence with systematizing things that no longer require us to DIY. Automating parts of the business allow us to spend time doing other things that bring a greater return. You may already be doing some of these things, but listen to what Trinity has to say about what unexpected opportunities can pop up once time is spent on more focused things. The return is not 1:1 - it is exponential!

67 - To the Moon w/ Jeff Krukin
Do you wonder...? That's it, that's the question. When was the last time you took pause to marvel at something? To think about ALLLLLL the things that had to fall perfectly into place for something to exist... to thrive... to "be"? The further we get from childhood, the less it seems socially acceptable to realize all the miracles - all the beauty - happening around us. Of course, if you are an avid listener of #truthseekers, you know this is unacceptable! To play like a kid is a major success principle of the most successful people in the world, especially the ones who are in alignment with their passions. Speaking of which... we #truthseekers are so excited to introduce Jeff Krukin to our listeners this week! When Jeff Krukin was a child, he would lay on the grass in the back yard at night and gaze at the Moon, so wanting to be there. Space exploration, settlement, and development are in his DNA. This is the fire in his soul, the passion in his heart, and the impetus for a wide-ranging professional journey. We have had a number of entrepreneurs on the show over the past 18 months, but this is our first "space entrepreneur". We invite you to listen to what Jeff says about the one thing it takes to get through tough times, how our domestic space programs are doing, and of course, what sort of contact has humanity made with extraterrestrial life (ha!). And so much more... We enjoyed this convo and know you will too...

66 - Building Bad-Ass Teams w/ Garret Harrell
Ahhhhh life is tough, ain't it? The 2nd Law of Thermodynamics (the Law of Entropy) states that the general tendency of the universe is to move from order and structure to lack of order and lack of structure, and downright chaos. It is only our individual EFFORT that makes it possible to reverse this flow. Taking ACTION can improve our lives. A lack of ACTION does not mean our lives will stay the same... according to the Law of Entropy, they will indeed get worse. People spend a lifetime trying to get their own shit together! So how can we even talk about high-performance teams? It's hard enough to identify the effort required of individuals to improve their own state. Where do we even start to talk about how to turn a group of people/employees/teammates into a high-performance team?! Well it's a good thing we have Garret Harrell! This week's #truthseekers guest lays out the principles. Isn't that a funny thing?! People are vastly different, we can agree - but the principles remain the same. What does it look like when everyone is bought in to a common mission? What's the difference between unengaged and disengaged? How do we know a team is "high-performing"... and what sort of things can a high-performing team produce that are even greater than what one individual is capable of? You'll just have to tune into this week's episode to find out!

65 - It's Not About the Money w/ Brian Esposito
"For the first time I feel like I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing." Before you even meet this week's #truthseekers guest, Brian Esposito, you can already feel the purposeful conviction in his language. Now, hopefully you don't have to go through the trauma of a head-on car crash in order to make drastic changes in your life like Brian did, but there is something Brian's story can teach us about our most difficult challenges, in particular how we can use them to stop accepting a life less than what we truly, truly want and less than what we truly, truly deserve! "I needed a near-death car accident to shake me enough to make a move and change things. Life is precious, and if you're not doing what you love... you need to start making some really tough decisions to prepare yourself to be on a path that makes you happy... that makes you want to jump out of bed in the morning... that makes you want to go out and attack the day with a smile on your face!" So what the heck does that look like? "I built this wonderful ecosystem of all these companies working with each other, sharing resources, sharing IP, building real value, and it's.... GREAT!" You don't say! Brian now maintains over 75 entities in his holdings across 25 different industries, and is involved in over 150 joint ventures around the world. With all that access, with all those resources, with all those connections... imagine knowing yourself so well that you know exactly who you will and won't work with. "If someone called me today and they promised to bring in another $1 billion and I don't like them, I'm not doing business with them. It's not about the money." Money seems to drive a lot of what we do, even who we are. So what the heck drives Brian Esposito? Come check out this week's conversation, and see if you can collect all the nuggets of wisdom and life lessons along the way!

64 - Somewhere Between Order and Chaos w/ Rich Levert
Humor me here... We all remember the story of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. The one where Goldilocks went through the bears' house trying porridge, sitting in chairs, and sleeping in beds. The term "Goldilocks" has been adopted over the years to describe the perfect version of something - when conditions are juuuuust right. I wonder if that's ever the case? Are situations ever perfect? So often, we wait for CERTAINTY when we want to make a change. We don't leave our current situation, even if it's killing us, because it's predictable... we know what to expect. This week's #truthseekers guest Rich Levert shares his story about taking the leap to start his own company when his wife was 8 months pregnant! Starting as 1 guy in a truck, we welcome you to listen to Rich's story of growth, embracing the balance between order and chaos to to get his company to where it is today. Enjoy!

63 - Condition Your Intuition w/ Coach Jon Zieve
Intuition = the ability to understand something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning; an inner knowing. We all have intuition, but not all of us know how to use it. We first must quiet our outside world so we can hear what our inside world is telling us. Intuition is truth whispered to us every second of the day, which only registers in our mind when we quiet our outside world enough to receive it. Our truth can't come through if there's too much interference... so it is our duty to remove it when we can. We share some techniques during our discussion... Shouldn't we learn to listen more to what is never wrong? We discuss further on this week's episode with Coach Jon Zieve during a special Coach's Corner!

62 - Pivoting Into the Future w/ Brian Rivers
What will business look like in the future? What about trips into the office vs. working remotely? What does that mean for collaboration? For hiring? This week's #truthseekers guest Brian Rivers has been a CEO for 16 years. We thought it'd be prudent to navigate some of these questions with Brian who currently runs a company of 23 employees. The conversation was a great reminder of what we have control over... in business and in life. External factors are constantly making their presence known in our lives... some more than others - but we always have a choice. Where are focus goes, our energy flows. There are 2 sides to every coin so whenever we face a challenge, there is always an equal opportunity to rise to the occasion - to see something that was not there before - and make it better. It's interesting to get the perspective of employees asking about in-person requirements. There are plenty of small businesses that allow and promote remote working, which has its positives and negatives, so it's interesting to hear where Brian strikes the balance. What are the positives? What are the pitfalls? How can we inspire emotion and leadership from behind a screen?! All this and more on this week's episode with Brian Rivers!

61 - FAM First w/ Jason Tierney
Imagine having a company culture where everyone has bought in. Employees are committed. Goals are clear. Communication is great. And people have fun. This week's #truthseekers guest, Jason Tierney, has an approach that just might be the secret sauce to foster this environment... and his company Forced Air Mechanical, appropriately acronym'd "FAM", takes an employee-first approach to ensure everyone owns their work-life balance. Part of the responsibility that comes with building this ideal culture is eliminating its threats. As Coach Nick says, "it's easy when things are bad to make things better, because what have you got to lose?... In order to get to great, you've got to sacrifice good sometimes." As Jason discusses in this week's episode, sometimes that means firing an employee. "If you're not in, if you're not understanding the 'why' we are here - 'why' we are doing everything we're doing, and it's for the benefit of everyone here - then this isn't the place for you." How powerful is that! You don't just wake up one day and have that approach in business. We welcome you to come get to know Jason a little better on this week's episode, and hear his powerful story why he decided to take the leap to start his own business, and how he continues his mission today. Visit any of Jason's links below and you'll see he doesn't just want you to see what FAM does, he wants you to know who they are. Is there any question Jason's business is already successful? 60 - 3 Hours of Reading & The 3 Martini Lunch w/ Chip Venters
Where does creativity come from? Are the ideas that pop into your head your ideas? If you were creative once, surely you could be intentional about being creative again, right? We had some fun with this week's conversation as Chip Venters joins #truthseekers to talk about his insatiable reading habits, and a concept encapsulated in the 1960's Mad Men-era businessman, the 3-martini lunch! Both strategies seem to promote creativity (in different ways), but the approaches are actually quite similar if you strip it all away. Let me explain what they have in common... We cannot be creative when we are stressed. We cannot be creative when we are hyper focused. We cannot be creative when we are worried about events from our past or in our future. These 2 strategies promote relaxation... a way to shake things up and see things from a different angle. #truthseekers promotes drinking responsibly (of course) if you are drinking at all, but you get the point. Sometimes stepping away or taking our mind off things creates the space we need to come up with a solution we just could not have seen before. We have much more stored away in our brains, information waiting for a place to land, than we give ourselves credit for... So pull up with a martini, come hear Chip's reading recommendations (they are good ones), and join us on a jovial episode of #truthseekers with serial entrepreneur Chip Venters! ~ Coach Josh

59 - Emotional Intelligence is the New Self-Care w/ Leslie Cunningham
Neurologists have found that the physiological lifespan of an emotion in the body is 90 seconds. Wait, what?! That's crazy to think about! But it's true - we can be the observer of our emotions. This has huge upside potential if you can remain aware of this fact in the moment you experience negative emotions. Negative emotions include unworthiness, fear, anger, shame, self-doubt, guilt just to name a few - we are all painfully too familiar! So what can we do when we notice these emotions? How can we regulate ourselves? How can we use these emotions to grow our emotional intelligence? Welp, that's just something you'll have to find out by tuning into this week's episode of #truthseekers with Leslie Cunningham. Also included is a very special and serendipitous interaction between Leslie and guest co-host Coach Jon Zieve, who we discovered right before recording both experienced the same form of tongue cancer, and subsequent (partial) tongue removal surgery, and recovery. Though Leslie's experience (2020) was a lot more recent than Jon's (1984), we wish she spoke even more! What a great conversation about a topic that is increasingly capturing our attention in today's changing world! And what a great message to share that our repeated awareness and regulation is our path to becoming more whole, more pure, more loving beings. ~ Coach Josh

58 - Decisions Decisions Decisions w/ Tim Szczygiel
Just because we aren't conscious of them all doesn't mean we don't make hundreds, if not thousands, of decisions every single day. We are all creators of our lives - our actions shape our future. In its most simplistic form, some of our daily actions include the clothes we choose to wear; the hygiene routines we choose to engage in; the people we choose to surround ourselves with... this is the power of choice! The more conscious we become of the world we are creating, the more intentional we can be about the world we want to create. We are 100% responsible for our own lives. As we become more intentional about creating the life and the world around us, it's as if we take on greater responsibility for the choices we make. We begin to recognize the importance of everything we do. And just how much is this concept magnified when you are the CEO of a company...?! This week, we have the privilege of tapping into the mind of a CEO who has been making decisions for his company for more than 18 years. Tim Szczygiel joins #truthseekers to give us insight into his approach to making decisions and what he has become intentional about as he chooses to mold the culture of his company. When Tim make decisions as the CEO, his actions have a ripple affect that influences a heck of a lot more than just himself. This magnifies the importance of Tim's choices, and causes him to be very intentional about the environment he is creating. Perhaps that's why Tim chooses to interview leadership candidates 4 times. Perhaps that's why Tim chooses to make fun a pillar of his company, SalesChain, LLC. Perhaps that's why Tim chooses to prioritize communication skills and embrace passion in all that his company represents. We welcome you to enjoy our full conversation with this week's #truthseekers guest, Tim Szczygiel. ~ Coach Josh

57 - Tapping into Awe w/ Andrew Larson
"The quality of your life is the quality of your communication" ~ Tony Robbins We live in a material 3-dimensional world, yet our communication is quite often flat and 1-dimensional. It's been said that 55% of our communication is our body language, 38% is our tonality, and just 7% is our words. 7%! If most of the communication we engage in throughout our day is text message and email, our messages are at such a risk of being miscommunicated because only 7% of it is being conveyed! Even a phone call lacks up to 55% of the intended message! Humans have known this for some time... which is where the dawning of visual media comes in. How can we convey messages better? Better yet, what's a way we can instill a targeted emotion? How can images or video influence our thoughts and actions? This week's #truthseekers guest, Andrew Larson, Animator/Producer at The Production Group and Owner/Animator at Spirit Studios, talks about what it's been like to live in this space for decades. What's it like to be a creative? How important is digital marketing in today's day and age? Where does Andrew draw his inspiration from? What does he do when he's in a rut? And perhaps most importantly, how can we communicate more effectively? We decided to bring Andrew to #truthseekers to get inside the mind of somebody who contemplates these things every day. 56 - Man the Ship and Bring Her to Life w/ Jon Rennie
People first. Always. I once had a sales job where the leadership only cared about my production. What results did I get for the company? What actions was I taking to produce those results? How could I drive more business? I was pushed, and ended up doing very well converting many new clients and earning a great commission and income. The questions above were necessary to achieve more success, no doubt. In fact, I learned quite a bit about the importance of metrics and performance evaluation at that company. However, I am no longer an employee there. I didn't feel valued and fell out of alignment with the direction of the company, and so I sought employment elsewhere. I had all the success in the world at that company. I earned a 6-figure income. I was respected by my peers as a top performer, and I helped others around my achieve success, too. What does that say? What went wrong? Why did I leave? This week's #truthseekers guest, Jon Rennie, shares his views on leadership. A former U.S. Navy Nuclear Submarine Officer, Jon operated in a very cramped space where he got to know his peers intimately. His experience in the Navy has shaped his approach to running companies - prior to starting Peak Demand, a premier manufacturer of critical components for electrical utilities, he led eight manufacturing businesses for three global companies. Today he hosts his own podcast called, "The Deep Leadership Podcast". If anyone knows anything about leadership, it's Jon! During our conversation, Jon references a recent moment in history when the granddaughter of President Gerald Ford commissions the USS Gerald Ford Navy ship by concluding her speech with, "Man the ship and bring her to life!" How powerful. The ship is merely "a cold hunk of steel sitting in the harbor". What brings it to life? The people. Listen as Jon draws the analogy of the best ways to bring a company to life. Do you consider yourself a leader? How do you know? What might be some ways you can gauge if you're a good one? Jon has some ideas. 55 - Leveling Up by Shifting Down w/ Dr. Kimberly Wilson
I used to think that living in a state of bliss was dependent upon me solving all my problems. "If I could only get rid of this problem, I'll be happy." But by the time I would solve one of my problems, 10 more would show up. As I kept going in this merry-go-round of problem->solution->problem->solution->problem->solution, I had a big a-ha moment: my problems were not going anywhere. My state of mind had nothing to do with the amount of problems I was facing or the speed at which I solved them. My state of mind was determined by the way I saw my problems. "Happiness with conditions is not happiness" is one of my favorite quotes. "Fall in love with the journey, not the destination" is another powerful quote with the same meaning. But what does that mean? Why do we read these words, and then fall into the same patterns once another problem pops up? This is what we discussed in this week's episode of #truthseekers with Dr. Kimberly Wilson. She makes an extremely important distinction between stress and BURNOUT. Listen as she addresses these 2 terms, and provides fantastic advice to navigate the difference between them. Dr. Wilson also touches upon her triggers... the things she has trained herself to recognize before the stress consumes her and she succumbs to burnout. I welcome you to share your triggers in the Comments. Sharing can be very powerful - you never know who else is going through the same thing! Take it from someone who has been there multiple times, and refuses to go back! Dr. Wilson is on a mission to help people cure burnout, and her tips, tricks, and classes could be just what the doctor ordered. ~ Coach Josh

54 - Why Celebrate? Coach's Corner w/ Josh and Nick
I read somewhere recently that success is who you are, not what you do. Many episodes of #truthseekers focus on states of mind. When we feel good, we do better. We show up stronger. We play above the rim, so to speak. We are constantly seeking to feel good in our lives. And when we slow down to acknowledge our accomplishments, it perpetuates even more of it. This is how I frame celebration. Celebrating an accomplishment is a 2nd chance to feel good about something we already felt good about in the past. Or perhaps we only now are allowing ourselves to slow down enough to enjoy it for the 1st time. Either way, we have an opportunity to improve how we feel. And it doesn't mean there isn't more work to be done... if anything, it prepares us for that work. I believe I am doing myself a disservice when I don't reflect on something I have done well. After all, there were several moments of anger and frustration on my way to achievement. All I wanted while I was in those states of mind was to feel good (better). Now that I have overcome those moments, I have earned the right to improve my state of mind! "But it's been no bed of roses... no pleasure cruise..." Freddie Mercury acknowledges this concept as he belts out the lyric to "We are the Champions". Successes are always fraught with challenges and frustrations. That's what makes success so great. And when we limit our celebrations, aren't we limiting the extent to which we allow ourselves to feel good? Now THAT'S something we have control over! Check out this week's Coach's Corner where Coach Nick and I discuss the concept of celebration. This week, we ask you to slow down. Acknowledge a win you've had this week. Bask in it. How does it make you feel? How does your body feel? Do you get a buzz from it? What if you ended every evening acknowledging something you accomplished that day? What if celebrating life becomes who you are? ~ Coach Josh

53 - Beat Your Body To It! Coach's Corner w/ Josh and Nick
"If you are thirsty, you are already dehydrated" ~ Coach Nick Our body doesn't lie. When we neglect certain things in our life, our body is forced to give us signals to tell us so. If we over-exert ourselves, our body tells us we are sick. If we don't drink enough water, our body tells us we are thirsty. If we don't get enough sleep, our body tells us we are tired. Don't "yea yea Coach Josh" me! These are important things to pay attention to! We have covered a number of success principles in our 50+ #truthseekers episodes, and one thing shines through for me... these principles are simple! They are nothing new... nothing we don't know. It just so happens that we can fall out of practice of the simple things from time to time. The things we know that work... This is why coaching is so powerful! Another perspective can help you catch things before it's too late. If you are sick, it's too late. If you are thirsty, it's too late. If you are tired, it's too late. When your body finds itself in these states, it means it's not running at optimal performance and it needs YOU to do something about it. Don't wait until your body tells you things (and for Heaven's sake, don't not listen when it does!). Today's challenge as you watch this week's episode: tune into your body. What is it telling you it needs? What are you neglecting? And of course, what action is the obvious one to get back on track? Slow down and tune in. Please share any breakthroughs in the Comments section. Happy seeking! ~ Coach Josh

52 - Understanding How to Fail w/ Adam Fineberg
"The wound is the place through which the light enters" ~ Rumi Resist nothing. Accept everything. It will all be revealed, in due time. The concept that there is a grand purpose - a greater "thing" at work - makes more sense to me the more life I live. An uncomfortable situation, a frustrating experience, an emotional interaction - they are always fleeting... temporary. Inevitably there is a lesson I walk away with or knowledge that I gain. Always. It happens every time. You'd figure I would learn. You'd figure it would be easy to separate myself while in the moment. But it's not... which is the fun part! It is never easy to do. It is always a challenge! That's what makes it great! Each experience is a new opportunity to approach failure or disappointment with a renewed perspective. This week's episode of #truthseekers features Adam Fineberg, a man who has made a habit out of reframing failure. In 2021, Adam has set company production records month after month after month. Check out this week's conversation to see how Adam attributes his failures of the past to his successes of the now. Don't trip on all the other nuggets discussed along the way including but not limited to incremental progress, self awareness, dealing with uncertainty, and much much more. Enjoy! ~ Coach Josh

51 - Managing Things Outside Your Control
Stress on your muscles makes them bigger. That's why you work out. So why do we resist stress emotionally? Isn't that our opportunity to strengthen our resolve? In this week's Coach's Corner, Coach Nick and I discuss the difference between the "automatic" way we assign meaning to the events that occur to us vs. the act of being "intentional" about the meaning we assign. Like Nick says, "if we're not intentional about the meaning we're giving things, we will tend to give it meaning that's not helpful to us". We know that growth comes from uncomfortable situations. So when things happen to us that are outside our control, what's the best way to manage them? How do we become proficient at being more intentional with the meaning we assign things outside of our control? Like martial arts, using energy against your opponent can do wonders for you. Much like using the energy of an errant punch can leverage your counter-attack against an opponent, the same is true for managing stressful situations. As you sit here today (hopefully with no stress), we can infer that you've overcome every stressful situation in your life. When we are experiencing stress, it feels like the stress will never go away - that it's here to stay forever. That's not true! We always get on the other side of it... and we are always stronger for it having gone through it. So isn't it time to embrace stress? To enjoy that it's here? To stop resisting it? This is a simple secret of the successful... they understand this principle. They practice it every day. The most successful people in the world have stress. The difference is in how they handle it. If you want to accelerate your success more quickly, start managing your stress differently. Happy stressing! ~ Coach Josh

50 - Papercraft Miracles with Janna Willoughby-Lohr
Life is a funny thing. A collection of stressors and celebrations. I have learned to appreciate them all - in their own little ways. Appreciating everything not only makes it a little easier to manage the times that used to send me into a downward spiral, but it allows me to appreciate the peaceful times even more deeply. It is often darkest before the dawn. When we so badly desire new results, we attract the challenges that make us worthy of reaping the rewards we have asked for. For whatever reason, these challenges rarely show up how we expect. We often reject them and think they keep us from getting what we want. I wonder if we would treat them differently if we knew what was on the other side... that the challenges were the first part of the success we've been asking for...? What if we took the approach that every time something bad happened, that something good was about to happen right after? Would that make the challenges easier to deal with? Would we be able to recover from the 'unexpected' more quickly? What if our pain was part of our pleasure? Coach Nick and I are excited to share this week's conversation with our guest, Janna Willoughby-Lohr. Janna has used the trauma she experienced in her 20's to create a business whose purpose is built into the very fabric of its existence. Her company, Papercraft Miracles, specializes in handcrafted paper art and gifts that bring meaning to people's lives. Janna founded Papercraft Miracles while still in college in 2003 and has been building the brand ever since. She was awarded a $25,000 Ignite Buffalo Small Business Grant in 2018 and was named 40 Under 40 for Stationery & Gifts from Stationery Trends Magazine in 2019. Papercraft Miracles thrived in 2020, despite the pandemic and they have done custom projects for major brands such as Twitter and Capital One. In 2021, the comany landed a contract to create half a million seed bombs to be included in Lowe’s Spring Garden Giveaway event across the country. Janna is also very involved in the entrepreneurial space. She is a board member and chairs the membership committee of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Buffalo/Niagara Chapter and is a founding member of the chapter's Diversity & Inclusion Task Force, working to promote equity and representation for all women business owners. She is also the host of Reach the Stars Podcast-- a collection of conversations with cool people who do cool things. Each week, she brings inspiring stories of persistence, passion and purpose. Be sure to check her out! And we hope you enjoy our #truthseekers conversation this week. Enjoy! ~ Coach Josh

This week's #truthseekers guest, Diane Bogino, is a highly decorated coach with an illustrious professional career. We coaches thoroughly enjoyed this conversation - thank you Diane!

43 - Cups and Ice with Stephanie Bingham
This week's #truthseekers guest, Stephanie Bingham, is a Marketing Strategist and a Reiki Master... supporting both brands AND people in uncovering their own unique perspective. Stephanie's vision for the future of the workplace is one where "people can truly bring their own unique gifts to the surface". As Stephanie says, the entire world shifted this year. We all have a bright light and need to turn it on... everyone has gifts they need to be sharing! It is natural to be bothered by the suffering that occurs in the workplace - and it can feel overwhelming when we think about how to fix what's wrong. Leave it to a "Friend's" reference to show us how being great at something seemingly small can pay huge dividends to our success, happiness, and fulfillment. And, although our niche can feel small and insignificant, Stephanie reminds us that if it's aligned with what we are truly passionate about and it improves the lives of others, that is how we change the world

42 - The Vaguery Will Kill You
This week's #truthseekers guest, Sasha Sadri, who currently lives in Belgium, spent over 10 years looking for direction and purpose in life until he hit rock bottom in 2019 and decided he had to finally confront the man in the mirror. He was able to conquer his self-victimization, adopt a growth mindset, and has been pursuing his unstoppable vision ever since. Sick of the dollar-centric culture of the corporate world, he decided to leave the digital marketing rat-race and started his own coaching business in late 2020. He now lives to serve and inspire other high-performing individuals to create healthier habits to push their success to a higher level. All while putting people first, not dollars. "When there's intent behind your decisions and your actions, it makes things so much easier." So true - thanks Sasha!

39 - Applying What You've Learned with Larry Sanger
Larry was born and raised in Buffalo, NY, and got into real estate in the early 2000’s. Growing up learning carpentry, he fostered foundational skills to build houses. After realizing college wasn’t for him, he faced a series of monumental life events that altered the trajectory of his life! He acquired his first real estate property, had his first-born daughter, and was in a car accident that had him out of work, all in the same month! During that time, Larry learned one of his "WHYs" regarding owning property: it’s not just about collecting rents. It was about connecting with people, too. Everything changed. The way he thought, the way he listened, and the way he responded to his surroundings. Fast forward to today and many years later, Larry has acquired his fair share of ups and downs. Major lesson learned: "NO Bad Days, Just Challenging Days''. This perspective helps him keep his perspective on what’s truly important, while learning from life along the way. This hard-knocks MBA has now opened a new chapter in his professional career and Larry is looking to apply what he’s learned while teaching others along the way.

38 - Success Leaves Clues
Our 2nd Coach's Corner of the month is chock full of success principles. We challenge you to try to identify them all as you listen. This week's #truthseekers episode is a bit of a freestyle conversation on wanting more, rigging the game to win, and recognizing that the success we currently enjoy (or don't enjoy) is due to our own self-fulfilling prophecy. At a time when the world is most chaotic and the future can be perceived to be in a state of flux or unknown, we challenge you to CHOOSE to nourish your mind with only things that serve you to allow you to become the best version of yourself. This episode may count as 1 example, but what else? What sort of people are you surrounding yourself with? What sort of other content are you subjecting your mind to? What sort of actions are you taking to match the desires you have? One thing we will always have is the power of CHOICE. As long as we have our wits about us, we can find peace.

37 - Evaluate Your Values with Alex Cledaras
Evaluate your values! "My identity... I did a complete evaluation," says 19 year-old foreign-exchange- and crypto-currency- trader and investor Alex Cledaras, after a knee surgery and 4 concussions forced him to remove himself from soccer, a sport he loved dearly. Now Alex, who is of Austrian and Greek descent, travels the world frequently because that's what he truly enjoys doing. Alex tells us that this lifestyle did not come without excruciating self-reflection... something happened when he could no longer participate in something he loved so much - it forced him to go back to the drawing board... to start from scratch. We don't think you can listen to this conversation without getting fired up about actively pursuing all you wish to enjoy in this beautiful life. Alex embodies perhaps the most number of principles a #truthseekers episode has encountered so far and we think you'll enjoy this one. Congrats on the success Alex!

36 - Coach's Corner - Finding Passion When Your Identity is Questioned
We have days where the fire rages and days where it gets reduced to a light flicker. That’s life. We all have ups and downs because others are living their lives in our vicinity – it’s not possible to control all our circumstances. Our responsibility is to manage the fire when it’s raging by staying within our means… and compassionately tending to the embers when circumstances overwhelm us. This week’s #truthseekers Coach’s Corner centers around real life experiences and applications for how to manage the fire when it’s running low or when others try to steal our flame… Coach Josh talks about his experience getting cut from 2 collegiate baseball programs before earning All-Region honors the following year. Check out our full conversation to hear about an even bigger lesson he walked away with…

35 - Entrepreneurship with Tim Dodd
Massive action is the cure-all! "Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm" is a great quote from Winston Churchill that embodies our conversation with #truthseekers guest Tim Dodd. "I learned lots of ways not to build a company," says Tim. It's a principle we've heard over and over again. You need information to become successful. How do you get information? By DOING! Even if it means failing. Tim has started a number of companies, gaining valuable lessons along the way. His hardest lesson perhaps came when he stopped doing the things that made him successful when he started earning $6,000 per week. In the matter of 2 weeks, he lost it all to the point of not knowing how he was going to pay his rent! Now he runs a thriving company, PEMA, with a culture that attracts top talent. Tim shares stories about his life lessons culminating into where he is today - we hope you enjoy this as much as we did!

34 - Optimization with Peep Laja
This week's #truthseekers guest Peep Laja is a former champion of optimization and experimentation turned business builder. Peep is building a portfolio of companies, using the profits from existing businesses to build new ones - you could call him his own angel investor! Among other things, we asked Peep, a successful founder of 3 companies, why he does what he does. We look at what he has built so far, and how his work has prepared him for what he focuses on today - Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO). Most of us have everything we need - food, water, shelter, people who care for us.... Because our needs are met, we get to choose which "game" we want to play. Take a listen to the game that Peep has chosen to play, along with his plans to take Wynter, his most recent company, to $100mm. Enjoy!

33 - Special Sauce with Marcus Aurelius
What does it take to build real wealth? If this question grabs your attention, you'll love this week's #truthseekers guest Marco Capaldi, aka Marcus Aurelius of the Special Sauce Podcast. Coach Jon and I enjoyed our conversation with Marco about going beyond "left brain business", aka crunching numbers, understanding financial goals, calculating assets, etc. Generational wealth and longevity appear to be the evolution of the concept of simply "making money". During the time of Covid, many people are seeking ways to gain financial security and independence beyond the traditional retirement age. And many others are growing in their businesses and thinking of exit strategies. It's never too early - or too late - to have a plan!

32 - The Strangest Secret with Sean Stanley
Goal-oriented individuals succeed more frequently because they know where they’re going. It’s that simple. Sean first heard this concept on an audio book called The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale. Widely recognized as one of the greatest motivational books of all time, this audiobook would serve as the inspiration for Sean to establish his own company, EcoTwist Clean. Prior to developing EcoTwist, Sean served as Category Manager for Harris Teeter for 25+ years, with much of that time focused on the laundry detergent space. Sean recognized that many brands offered products without all the harmful chemicals, but they didn’t actually clean the clothes. Sean set out to change that. He developed a laundry detergent that not only cleans and gets rid of nasty odors, but does so without all of the toxic ingredients. Sean also developed a propriety formula for how he runs his business. Under his leadership, EcoTwist Clean places an intentional focus on people, not profits. “People were my motivation to start EcoTwist Clean,” Sean says. “To me, the center of every business is the people behind it. At EcoTwist Clean, we embrace our team members, help them, encourage them, and reward them. We challenge and push people to grow professionally and we empower them to grow mentally.” Keeping people at the forefront, EcoTwist Clean also strives to support the local community through charitable giving. Our conversation this week features guest-host Coach Matt Drinkhahn! We hope you enjoy our conversation with Sean Stanley as much as we did - enjoy!

Our discussion focuses on how to find your peak state - a resourceful state of mind where you can take on the day's tasks and live a meaningful, fulfilling life. So often throughout our day, we carry around the burden of the day's negative occurrences. Since we know we can only focus on one thing at a time, we could be missing opportunities to have powerful and positive experiences! We talk about creating an environment to be real with ourselves, telling better lies... and what a treat to be taken through a meditative body scan to find our own peak states! WARNING: Please don't try this while driving!

28 - The Year of Fears with Lynda Sunshine West
Imagine facing 1 fear every single day for a full year. That's exactly what #truthseekers guest Lynda Sunshine West did - 365 fears for 365 days in a row! Having 49 jobs over a span of 36 years will do that to you. Lynda woke up one day and realized all these years that she had been running away from what she DIDN'T want, instead of running TOWARDS what she did... and after 49 jobs she did not enjoy, enough was enough. 26 - Putting ACTION to Your Plan with Kareema Riddick
What good is a plan if we don't take action?! We find out a lot about ourselves when we intend to make a big life change or take a leap. Our fear, guilt, and shame throw up warning signals and tell us to throw on the brakes. Kareema Riddick joins #truthseekers to discuss how she navigated procrastination and self-doubt to found her own tea company, called "Yes Darling". After much self-exploration and some prodding from family and friends, she broke through and took MASSIVE ACTION. Kareema shares her experience and provides some usable advice for all of us experiencing similar things. Enjoy!

25 - Everyone Has a Plan Till They Get Punched in the Mouth with Erin Moody
You may be familiar with boxer Mike Tyson's famous quote in the title of this podcast. But what happens when we don't even start with a plan?! Career Coach Erin Moody joins #truthseekers to talk about the power of questions when it comes to making a plan. "What do I want" has to be answered before "how do I get there". Perhaps the most effective way to get what we want is to first identify the end result, and then reverse engineer the process to get it. So many people can't tell you what they want... so life happens TO them instead of FOR them. When you are clear about a desired end result, the universe tends to send people and experiences to help you get there. It's a beautiful thing. Enjoy!

24 - Understanding CONDITIONING with John Griveas
How much of our lives are conditioned? A heck of a lot more than I realized after discussing this week's topic with our guest John Griveas! Think about our daily routines, the number of times we check our phone, how we react to the same stimuli every single day. This is conditioning! Becoming aware is the first step. The next step is understanding whether or not our conditioning is serving us, and how we can leverage conditioning to get all the very best things out of life! Enjoy!

21 - Embodying Leadership with Chris Pope
We all know a leader when we see one. But what is it about that person that qualifies him/her as a leader? How does a person earn this tag? A leader forges through the murky waters of uncertainty. Decisive action is difficult to take for most people during uncertain times because they don't want to be wrong. The secret to being a leader is to be ok with being wrong. The decisiveness of cutting through murky waters creates the wake for others to follow. This week, #truthseekers follows Scott Pope, CEO of ROAMD - an international healthcare technology company - into a riveting discussion about what it means to embody the qualities of being a leader!

20 - Being Your Own Boss with Chris Davies
Business - a word we all use a lot. What do you associate with it? Is it about commoditizing relationships? Is it the way the world goes around? #truthseekers welcome Chris Davies, brother of co-host Nick Davies, to discuss what it means to him: FREEDOM! ...to be able to play the game he wants to play... to be in charge of his time... to make decisions the way he wants to make decisions... to answer to no one! A big thanks to Chris for joining #truthseekers to discuss getting over the FEAR of going out on his own. "How can you leave it to someone else's hand to make sure you get paid?" Maybe this is the biggest risk of all...

19 - Effective Communication with David Schaub
Communication. What? I said, COMMUNICATION! 7% of our communication is the words we use. The other 93% is tonality and physiology... which is why you should take a peak at our #truthseekers youtube channel! Exclamation marks can only do so much... Our communication is only as affective as the extent to which our message resonates with another. If we are not reading the non-verbal cues, we may never know if our message is resonating in the first place! As Stephen Covey says, seek first to understand, then to be understood. A big thanks to David Schaub for joining this week's conversation: Effective Communication.

#truthseekers RESILIENCE 18
More about our guest, Justin Ervin: Justin is Co-Founder and Executive Director of Habitual Roots and its lead contact in Charlotte, N.C. Habitual Roots is a nonprofit community based out of Charlotte, NC, promoting positive habits of self-care through means of mindfulness and emotional intelligence. Justin has spent 5+ years managing projects within the financial, nuclear, and service industries. Justin now pursues his lifelong passion of empowering others to transform their lives one day at a time. RESILIENCE Perhaps a word that gets thrown around a lot. But as with most clichés, it doesn't mean it's not valuable to dig into. So what does this mean for you? And is it important? Perhaps think of life as a never-ending path to walk, in which there are very many potholes to navigate. Some potholes are wide, some are deep (monumentally), and some are wide and deep... with varying frequency and structure. Your job is to be aware and KNOW this is the case. And importantly, to KNOW that it's not about avoiding the potholes but continuing with the journey. Sometimes the path is JUST potholes for a while. Resiliency is creating an emotional trampoline in which you are skilled in deploying, just at the right moment, bouncing your way out of the potholes. With each activation, your resiliency is made bigger and stronger to take on the next set of potholes. Sometimes your systems won't be big enough or strong enough... but that's the point. That's the reminder: build your resiliency. #truthseekers welcome Justin Ervin this week. Follow his honest and vivid examples and analogies as we dive into the potholes together!

#truthseekers DEFINING SUCCESS 17
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? If you could accomplish anything you want, no holds barred, what would it be? A conclusion we can come to about accomplishing a monumental goal is that we must start moving in its direction. Any action is better than no action. For some reason, any specific action never feels perfect. We wait around for it to feel right and may end up never taking any. What’s wrong with this picture?! Patrick Lutz joins #truthseekers this week for a riveting discussion on self-reflection, celebration, and taking action when it comes to DEFINING SUCCESS. When we realize we have control over our lives and our destination, the world is our oyster. I believe this is what William Ernest Henley was referring to in the famous concluding lines of his poem Invictus, “I am the master of my fate. I am the captain of my soul.” How powerful is it to realize we are our own creators…

#truthseekers FLOOR OF SIMPLICITY 16
There’s a lot of noise in the world scrambling our entire nervous system with too much data, meetings, people, emails, texts, social media, projects, and stuff attacking us day in and day out. We have a terrible habit of filling our days to our absolute maximum capacity. Even when we find empty space in our busy schedules, we find a way to fill it up! No wonder we burn out every so often and turn to our vices to stay sane… only to start the process all over again. This week’s guest, Jacob Felts, talks with Coaches Nick and Josh about the potential answer to this problem: identifying and sticking to the Floor of Simplicity. The Floor of Simplicity is the arch rival of the Ceiling of Complexity which leads to stress, anxiety, and uncomfortability if we stray too far from what we value most.

#truthseekers INTENTIONALITY 15
Intention means purposefully applying your attention. Attention can’t really be turned off. It comes down to what direction you focus it in… and how much you turn it up or down. You can be aloof practicing Muay Thai… you can be totally focused on watching a movie. When we tap into our “why”, like our guest Giles Wiley talks about, our intention becomes very powerful. In today’s #truthseekers conversation, we discuss with Giles, who owns and runs a martial arts facility in Jacksonville, FL, the power of intentionality and what happens to our focus and our mission when we are lacking.

#truthseekers A NEW NORMAL 14
You may have heard the best way to learn a new language is to immerse yourself in that respective culture. You want to learn Spanish? Move to Spain. Do you want to learn Italian? Move to Italy. Polish? Poland. The same is true if you want to change your “normal”. If you want to create a New Normal, immerse yourself in an environment where the normal behavior is the behavior you desire. Rebecca Tisdale joins Coaches Nick and Josh to discuss this concept further… a topic that has massive implications during the time of Covid… and beyond!

#truthseekers CONTROL 13
Ahh, the paradox of control. When we give up trying to control things, we actually get more control over our situation. “Giving up control doesn’t mean you’re giving up control” according to our guest Drew Lewis. When we focus on the things we have control over within our Circle of Influence, the things we don’t have control over melt away from our consciousness. We no longer fret over the things outside our circle – they lose our attention. Letting go of trying to control these things can actually mean gaining more freedom.

#truthseekers SALES 12
The sleazy salesman vs. the family doctor… Perhaps the idea that a sales(wo)man has their own agenda creates an image in our mind of someone out to get our money. Well, what if we, as salespeople, were able to disarm that notion? What if we were able to create a comfort level with our prospects to the point where they were willing to share their pain? Wouldn’t our solution/our product/our offering be a much more natural remedy… like a doctor prescribing a cure? Karl Schaphorst from Sandler Sales joins Coaches Nick and Josh to realign Sales as a noble and honorable profession by offering a fresh perspective when it comes to approaching prospects!

#truthseekers IDENTITY 11
How do you identify yourself? Who are you? When we become aware of the nonalignment between the stories we tell about ourselves and our true Identity, what happens? Can we change? Anthony Caputi digs deep during this week’s #truthseekers conversation with Nick Davies and Josh Greco to navigate the concepts of Beliefs, Meaning, and perhaps most pointedly… Identity.

#truthseekers HEALTHY AWARENESS 10
The first step in any intentional process is Awareness. We can’t develop an Action Plan until we are aware of where we want to go. We can’t Achieve success until we are aware of how we measure it. Becoming Aware allows us to identify the gap between what we want and what we don’t have and is the first step towards closing that gap. Melissa joins Nick and Josh to discuss further… and to identify 3 Keys to Practicing Healthy Awareness!

#truthseekers MAXIMIZE YOUR TIME 9
Is “time” an asset you can invest in? Whether you are the most successful person or living on the street, there is one even playing field that has always existed: time. There are 60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour, 24 hours in a day, and 365 days in a year. This is the same for the CEO and the bum. Calvin Pinney joins Nick & Josh to establish: 3 Ways to Maximize Your Time!

#truthseekers SETTING INTENTIONAL STANDARDS 8
Whether our standards are set at a subconscious or an intentional level, we find ourselves living out the personal brands and stories we tell about ourselves. Knowing this, wouldn’t it make sense to reverse engineer how you want to be known and what you want to achieve… then figuring out the ways to get there? Executing consistently on these “ways to get there” will become your standard… your Motus Operandi. Christine Davies joins Coaches Nick Davies and Josh Greco this week to discuss the possibilities around: Setting Intentional Standards!

#truthseekers SCALABLE COMPLEXITY 7
Have you ever gotten to a point in your career or your life where you get frustrated and can't seem to break through an invisible glass ceiling? Christopher Best grabs a hammer with Coaches Nick Davies and Josh Greco to break through with this week's topic: Scalable Complexity! As we grow, whether that be in our careers, our personal lives, our relationships, etc., the processes that got us to where we are today are not sustainable when it comes to getting us to where we want to go. This video reveals real-life scenarios where Chris, Nick, and Josh discuss how to navigate the proverbial glass ceiling... and what it's like on the other side!

#truthseekers CONSISTENCY 5
We have anywhere between 12,000-65,000 thoughts on a daily basis! Of those thoughts, 95% are the same pattern from the day before: tying our shoes, brushing our teeth, getting dressed. Patterns, aka consistency, serve us in so many ways… thank the Lord we don’t have to learn how to tie our shoes every day! But, how can we use intentionality to make sure our consistencies are aligned with where we want to go? How do we know when it’s time to realign our goals and make sure we are being consistent with the right activities to increase our chances of achievement?

#truthseekers FOCUS 4
Have you ever had a knot in your shoe that you couldn’t get out until you really, REALLY focused on it? You push and you pull and you try to force the knot out while your attention is on something else nearby. Well… what happens in that moment when you get so frustrated that you finally drop everything you are doing and give 100% of your attention to it? Bye-bye knot. But wait… what is that moment called? This is called FOCUS...

#truthseekers BELIEF SYSTEMS 3
Chris Eglin and Josh Brown collaborate with ProAdvisorCoach's Nick Davies and Josh Greco to identify ways we can bust through the Belief Systems (BS) holding us back. Belief Systems exist because we believe them to be true. But are they really our truth, or are they just our indoctrinated patterns of behavior from which we are ready to break free? As we become aware of the inner voice telling us what we believe, we realize that voice can be changed to establish a new and improved Belief System - one that serves us in our journey to getting what we want. So the real question, what Belief System do you want? What do you want to believe to be true about yourself? Set it, then go and get it!

#truthseekers PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT 2
Dan Greco collaborates with Coach Nick and Coach Josh to establish ways we can work on ourselves. So often we accept a level of comfort in our lives - most likely to avoid pain.
