27. N.Y.Resolutions: What to Do Instead of Getting Back on Track

Dear listeners, Happy New Year! I'm back from the holiday season with an episode that I believe is very relevant, especially after the celebrations. Today, we are exploring the concept of getting back on track and what it actually means. Is it effective or destructive to our mental health? We will discover why it is not necessarily beneficial to harry and place yourself back in the routine after a short or long pause and festivities. Instead, we will explore a different mentality when it comes to routine, and I call it mindfulness and presence. We will dive into some hacks that you can apply to nutrition, physical activity, and mental state in order to help this stressful transition. Let's remove the herd mentality of rushing to return to reality and actually explore how we can allow our minds and bodies to feel their best. Enjoy!

1. LOVE and HORMONES

1. LOVE and HORMONES

“I am in love” - a phrase we all said at least once in our lives. It's an extraordinary yet trembling feeling, and let's dive into the scientific aspects of this extraordinary phenomenon. Love is often portrayed as magical in movies and books, and those fortunate enough to experience it are deemed gifted, even if the journey ends in tears. But what exactly happens to us when we fall in love? Let's explore this process from a scientific standpoint, focusing on the role of hormones. Research in the field of psychology supports the notion that love is indeed influenced by hormones. Studies have shown that dopamine, serotonin, testosterone, and oxytocin play significant roles in the experience of love and romantic attraction (Fisher, Aron, & Brown, 2006). These hormones contribute to the euphoria, desire, bonding, and overall emotional state associated with being in love. Stay tuned for more short episodes like that. With love, Nicole.
