This year, Northwood College for Girls is celebrating 130 years of educating at our wonderful site on Maxwell Road. In this week's podcast, Mrs Brown discusses the history of NWC with our Head Student Team, Elina, Resham, Anvi, and Ameeya.

As the Summer Term draws to a close, Mrs Brown reflects upon the academic year ahead of the holidays. 

This week Head of Northwood College for Girls, Rebecca Brown, sits down with Head of Junior School, Cecile Halliday, to discuss the legacy and leadership of Queen Elizabeth II and how NWC is celebrating Her Majesty's historical anniversary.

In this episode, Mrs Brown sits down with the brand new Student Leadership Team, comprising of Head Student Elina, and Deputy Head Students Anvi, Resham, and Ameeya.

As Spring Term draws to a close, Mrs Brown reflects upon Women's History Month and International Women's Day with History and Politics teacher Miss Guthrie, as well as some members of our Feminist Society.

Earlier this month, the Head of Ofqual suggested that specialist subject teaching should be suspended temporarily in order for schools to focus on the core subjects. This week, Mrs Brown discusses this reductionist and cold approach to education with Mrs Bailey, Director of Sixth Form and Leader of the Creative Arts Department, and NWC students Maya and Pari.

At NWC, we are so good  at pausing, reflecting and moving forward with purpose and vision. This podcast explores this with colleagues and students, and looks at the power of reflection and metacognition in recognising achievements and setting clear goals.

In the week of COP26, Mrs Brown discusses NWC's environmental responsibility with Y13 Eco Prefect Ammara and DFO Mr Brown. 

In this episode, Mrs Brown details NWC's mission statement, and the importance of encapsulating our values and encouraging a shared vision for our community.
