Don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it—well, Lisa and Jack tried. Taylor Swift’s landmark pivot to pop album has a lot of iconic songs, but none of them connect. Swifties would do well to avoid, though the preamble highlight her many admirable qualities. Come for the de rigeur Billy Corgan invocation and French word jokes, stay for Jack saying “articulation” and Lisa saying “Jake Gyllenhaal” roughly fifty times a piece.

What is this? We are back for more! We are coming at you with a new episode where we cover one of Lisa’s favorite artists of all time, Tame Impala, and his third studio release “Currents.” This album has some of his most touching songs as well as some fo the most catchy that Tame Impala has ever released. Join us for a good time. It’s good to be back.

We are tackling Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black" for our 40th (and final?) episode! The album is an absolute treat from start to finish. Give it a listen! Lisa begs not to do a full hour, but they nearly do anyway. This week brings appreciations for a six year old album already rightly considered a masterpiece: To Pimp A Butterfly, by Kendrick Lamar. George Clinton, The Isley Brothers, Flying Lotus, Thundercat, and Tupac: we’re gonna be alright.

Lisa and Jack don’t like this album, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth talking about Madonna’s legacy. Consider: mermaids, button-down dresses at the beach, and dating David Fincher.

It’s 1980, and Lisa and Jack have ten songs full of stunning guitar riffs and stultifying innuendo to talk about, or possibly lose their minds over. That’s right, we’re Back in Black with AC/DC. Tent theory and satanic panic.

Lisa and Jack take a trip to the five boroughs with the 1989 sampling masterwork, Paul’s Boutique. Everything and the kitchen sink. Jack remembers their instrumental album’s title is “The In Sound From Way Out!” but is too sheepish to say it with conviction while recording.

This week we take a look at the album that catapulted U2 to superstardom: 1987's The Joshua Tree. Both Lisa and Jack are surprised to find out what certain songs on the album are really about; Jack still manages to mention The Pogues. What's your Rockstar Name?

This week we are covering “Close to the Edge” by Yes. Released in 1972 by a British prog rock band - so yes, of course Lisa loved it. But it’s worth a listen as it’s a near and dear album.

We are covering Notorious B.I.G.’s 1994 debut album “Ready to Die” this week, and it’s absolutely killer. Without a doubt one of the best albums we’ve covered on this show. Listen now!

Up this week is TV on the Radio's incredible second album, "Return to Cookie Mountain." The album has "Wolf Like Me" and "I Was a Lover," but there's so much more to this entire album. Definitely give it a listen! There are plenty of hidden gems. 

On the docket this week is Simon and Garfunkel's final studio album, "Bridge Over Troubled Water." A short play at 36 minutes, but full of some ultra-memorable tracks. Give it a listen! 

This week we are covering the big beat monster that is “Exit Planet Dust” by The Chemical Brothers. It dropped in 1995 and laid the framework for electronic music for decades to come. Give this killer album a listen along with us.

We are discussing Queen’s 1975 behemoth album “A Night at the Opera.” This is the album that features the GOAT that is “Bohemian Rhapsody,” but do the rest of the songs hold a candle to that massive single? Listen and find out.

We cover the 1994 release of “The Downward Spiral” from Nine Inch Nails this week. A dark, grimy, loud, angry album, but a masterpiece in and of itself. A difficult listen, but one worth a go if you can make it to the end.

For Lisa's birthday week we are tackling her favorite album of all time, "White Pony" by Deftones. Dropped in 2000 and two decades later is still as strong as it was when it first came out. Definitely an album all fans of rock should know. Listen now! 

We are covering the 2000 wonder that was OutKast’s “Stankonia” this week. An absolutely massive album full of some huge hits like Ms. Jackson B.O.B., and So Fresh, So Clean. An enormously huge album even without those singles. Give it a listen! 

This week we are discussing Beyonce’s incredible 2016 drop of “Lemonade.” An album with many heartbreaking themes, but a beautiful and dynamic masterpiece that hits hard. Not a perfect album, but an incredible one that's absolutely worth your time. Listen now! 

Up this week is David Bowie’s “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.” Some of Bowie’s greatest hits are on this album, and it’s the record that set him on the path to becoming one of the most iconic musicians of all time. But does it land for Lisa? Spoiler alert: it does not.

Up this week is Big Brother and the Holding Company featuring Janis Joplin’s “Cheap Thrills.” A big title for a big album. The intensity of this band paired with Janis’ vocals is incredible and absolutely worth giving an in-depth listen to. Listen to this episode to hear our hot takes on this absolutely raucous album.

The Beatles had an amazing run chock full of incredible albums and songs, and this week we are covering their iconic “Abbey Road” album. With several mega hits like "Come Together" and "Here Comes the Sun," this album is one everybody should know (whether or not Lisa likes it). 

We are covering a quieter but still unique album this week - Air's debut album "Moon Safari." It dropped in 1998 and helped lead the way for other downtempo artists, as well. Full of quirky and unique melodies, definitely worth listening to. 

This week we are covering Led Zeppelin's monster of a fourth album. With songs like "Stairway to Heaven" and "Black Dog," this album is undeniably incredible. If you didn't go through a Led Zeppelin phase, the time is now!

We are covering one of the most influential hip hop albums of the 90s (and of all time) this week on No Skips! Wu-Tang Clan's 1993 debut album "Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)" was on repeat this past week. Listen now to hear how this amazing lineup of rappers paved the way for rap to take over in the 90s. 

We cover one of the most amazing jazz singers on this week's episode - Billie Holiday's "Lady in Satin." A heart-breaking but beautiful album at the end of her career and life. An absolutely amazing album by a truly one-of-a-kind musician. Give it a listen!
