#034 - The Myth Of Toning Up
Muscles don't tone and there is no one specific training method or nutrition plan to "tone up" or "get toned". It's a myth and a marketing buzzword used by companies to get around the fear a lot of people have of getting "too big" from strength training. But you shouldn't fear getting strong, you shouldn't fear working your muscles. You should fear (and avoid) the horrible made-up science which the fitness industry seems to keep repeating about toning up. It doesn't happen and this short episode busts all the myths around it. #033 - Dealing With Gym Intimidation
One of the things which held me back and may do the same to you is the idea of how intimidating the gym can feel. I've been going to the gym for years now and if I go to a new gym, I STILL feel it too. Remember there is a difference between the idea of gym intimidation in our heads and actually being intimidated by someone at the gym, which is a very serious topic. Here's my own thoughts on it, and the how a lot of the time it is in our own heads and coming from our own self talk. And a few thoughts on how to overcome it too. #032 - Not The Most Important Meal of The Day
Most of us have been brought up on the idea that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. As someone who has seen huge benefits from intermittent fasting, I can vouch for the fact that it's not true for everyone. So I'm going to dive into where the idea started from, why breakfast is still commonly seen as the most important meal of the day and dive a little bit deeper into the truth as well. As an added bonus, we'll touch on one of the surprising reasons Corn Flakes were invented by John Harvey Kellogg too! Website | Instagram | Facebook | Tiktok

#031 - Myths About Sweating
For some reason we tend to link a good workout with how much we sweat. This can be true in some cases but it can also be a misleading, and kind of toxic way of looking at things.  Let's dive into some truths and some myth-busting, all about getting sweaty. PS: Sweat is not fat crying. Any comments, questions or feedback? Hit me up below: Website | Instagram | Facebook | Tiktok

#030 - Show Appreciation Daily
I have been struggling a little bit recently. Mentally and physically I have felt low, frustrated, and just generally stuck. It can be hard to get yourself out of that kind of situation when you don't know what the root cause is.  And I don't know what the root cause is. But one of the things which helps me manage it is to remind myself of what I do have which I know is going well, and showing appreciation for it daily. It might be something someone else did for me, it might be someone else just being in my life, it might be something I did for myself. But I have realised how important it is to appreciate these things, especially when times are tough. In this episode we're diving into the kind of dark and ominous reasons why you should show appreciation and gratitude daily, and some ways to actually practice this too. When times are tough, sometimes the best way we can lift ourselves is by lifting others. And this is as good a starting point as any. Any comments, questions or feedback? #029 - Where Did The Keto Diet Come From?
No diet has become as prominent on social media in recent years as the ketogenic diet, AKA the keto diet.  While almost all trendy or new diets end up being divisive, it feels like the keto diet has taken that to more of an extreme with plenty of criticism, but also some incredibly loyal, fanatical followers of it. I'm not here to pass judgement on anyone or their lifestyle and dietary preferences but I thought it would be interesting to trace back the history of the keto diet, with its foundation actually coming from Ancient Greece, to being a treatment for epilepsy, to the Atkins diet, to where it is today. I hope you enjoy this adventure through the history of the keto diet! Any comments, questions or feedback? Hit me up below: Website | Instagram | Facebook | Tiktok

#028 - 3 Easy Ways To Make Someone's Day Better
I recorded this episode towards the end of 2020, when I was feeling near my lowest point in the whole of this Covid pandemic. We're all tired of Zoom, and WhatsApp, and masks, and that ominous phrase "the new normal". There is a mental and physical fatigue which can drive us all down. But that means it's even more important that we learn to dig deeper and look after each other. One of the best ways to do that is in small daily acts which can spread some positivity and make someone's day brighter. Here are 3 ways which you can action in literally a few seconds to spread some positive energy and someone else's day (and by the same token, your own day), better and brighter. Let me know what you think and if you're able to make someone else smile today! Website | Instagram | Facebook | Tiktok

#027 - Some Simple Facts About Apple Cider Vinegar
Short and sweet (or vinegar-y) episode on one of the most prominent "trendy" super foods in recent years - apple cider vinegar. I hate the taste of it. Social media and blogs seem to tout it as a solution for virtually any and every health problem. Want to lose weight? Just get some ACV down you. Acne? Smear your face with it. Diabetic? You guessed it. It's far too easy for anyone to make claims about a health food and for people to take it as fact without doing their own homework. Fortunately, I did that homework for you. In this episode I'll explain which health claims have and haven't been proven in studies on humans so you can decide for yourself if you want to subject your taste buds to this. Enjoy! #026 - Fitness Is NOT A Punishment
Taking a moment to address one of the most toxic elements of the diet and fitness industry - the idea that fitness is a punishment or that food is a reward. It starts to add morality to 2 things that we're lucky to be able to appreciate, which can both play their part in your mental and physical health. Hopefully you'll come away from this episode with the attitude that you get to workout, instead of you HAVE to workout!  As always, you know where to find me: Website | Instagram | Facebook | Tiktok

#025 - One Thing To Make Any Health or Fitness Goal MUCH Easier

Instead of me rambling on about a random topic, we'll be keeping things simple with one action and explanation which you can focus on improving in your own health journey. To kick us off, it's the number one thing you can do to help with literally any health or fitness goal.  It's not a big reveal or any kind of revolutionary secret. It is so much simpler than that and something you can start doing right away! If you have any topics you'd like me to cover, you know where to find me: Website | Instagram | Facebook | Tiktok

#024 - Battling Binge Eating Disorder
I've been through a few periods of disordered eating in my life including bouts of eating habits that overlap with anorexia, bulimia, orthorexia, and the most prominent one - binge eating disorder. In this episode I talk specifically about my experience with binge eating disorder - what causes it, what triggers binges, how it actually FEELS in a binge, and a bit more on what I am doing to handle my own case. I wrote a blog post on this as well for some more reading. Let me know if you have any comments or questions: Website | Instagram | Facebook | Tiktok

#023 - How To Use A Treadmill PROPERLY!
I am one of those few people that likes the treadmill. I can combine walking with my downtime Netflix binges. I can run without worrying about people or traffic or uneven pavements. For me, it's awesome. It's one of the most common and one of the most popular machines in gyms around the world. It is also where one of the most reckless versions of cardio exercise happens. In this episode I'll cover why I'm such a treadmill fan, the worst exercise you can possible do on it, and some common mistakes to avoid. Let me know if you have any comments or questions: Website | Instagram | Facebook | Tiktok

#022 - How To Start Squatting Properly
The absolute GOAT exercise - the squat. Great for strength, conditioning, fat loss, power, endurance, aerobic conditioning, and more. It's a movement pattern that we often lose a handle on without regular practice and something we should all be including in our training in some form (except for in cases of any health/physical/medical conditions which make it unadvisable). But a lot of people hate squats because... leg day. And a lot of people get them wrong. In this episode, we're doing a whistle-stop tour of squatting, including: why it's so great, every squat variation you can think of, how I got started with squats and went from bodyweight squats to a solid load on my back, common technique errors and how to fix them. Enjoy! Website | Instagram | Facebook | Tiktok

#021 - Meditation For Busy Minds
As someone whose mind seems to constantly run at a million miles an hour, trying to get it to slow down a little bit for a second, let alone for a few minutes has always been a challenge. It's why I've never been able to really meditate before. But after a few months of practice, I can channel my thoughts much better and have started to feel the benefits of a little bit of daily calmness that comes from meditating. I'll walk you through how I started meditating, why I started and how it has worked for me. I'm not an expert by any means but if you're also someone who struggles to get their brain to slow down for a bit, my own venture in meditation may help. Website | Instagram | Facebook | Tiktok

#020 - Dealing With Self Sabotage
For all the good intentions in the world, we all sometimes fall prey to some habits or behaviour that give us a short term boost but de-rail our long term goals. That is self sabotage. One of my first business coaches once said self sabotage doesn't actually exist. In this episode I talk more about identifying self-sabotaging behaviours and habits, understanding more about the thought process behind it, and some practical tips you can try following to break these patterns. As always, any comments or questions - you can reach me in the usual places. Website | Instagram | Facebook | Tiktok

#019 - Getting Fit At Christmas
We're in a slightly weird time in the UK with gyms opening again in the first week of December, when most people would usually start to drift away from fitness, as Christmas approaches. So how do you balance it? Getting into or getting back into a fitness routine to make up for when gyms were closed... the same time, allowing yourself to enjoy and indulge over Christmas... the same time as not waking up on a January morning and feeling full of regret. In this episode I'm diving into getting into or back into a fitness routine, why taking a break again over Christmas could set you back massively, why not listening to your body's hunger signals is damaging and why waiting until January to start is a silly idea. #018 - Eating For Health Vs Eating For Weight Loss
There is a tendency to assume that healthy automatically means thin or skinny and eating to be healthy also means eating to lose weight. The two can overlap – and often eating to improve health will also result in weight loss. But they are not technically the same thing. In this episode I dive into what the difference is and why it's important to recognise the difference. It's something that has affected me hugely before so hopefully this will help you with some mythbusting too. #017 - Common Side Effects Of Body Dysmorphia
Body dysmorphic disorder (or body dysmorphia as it's also known) is a mental health condition that can be a huge source of anxiety for many, where we often perceive our own flaws to be a lot worse or more significant than they actually are or where we fixate on specific physical features. It's more than just vanity or self esteem. It can be a deeply disruptive and debilitating mental health issue. Here are 5 common behaviours and habits I've noticed in myself a lot that are side effects of living with body dysmorphia. They can seem completely innocent and innocuous on thier own but they can lead to obsessive tendencies and compulsive behaviour. #016 - Changing The People Around You
Changing your social circle or the people surround yourself with can be difficult, especially when you're an introvert. Especially in lockdown. Especially when you don't have a big social circle to begin with and don't really know how to reach out to other people. I've struggled with this a lot in lockdown and have felt isolated and disconnected from the outside world quite a lot. This is what I've done to try to open up my eyes and ears a bit more, and bring more people into my circle. They say you're the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with - this is how I'm changing my average. If you want to get in touch: Website | Instagram | Tiktok

#015 - What To Do If You Feel A Binge Coming On
I've been struggling with binge eating for a few months now. At least a couple of nights every week, I seem to end up with this unstoppable urge to empty my food cupboards and eat everything. I've found a few habits to manage when I feel a binge coming on that have helped me stabilise my eating habits a lot and have brought down my binge eating into a more manageable state (it still happens but I'm better with it now). Standard disclaimer that with eating disorders you should speak to a qualified medical professional or dietitan for specific advice and I am neither. But if you have any questions or comments or feedback on what I'm doing to manage my own binge eating, you know where to find me: Website | Instagram | Tiktok

#014 - Digital Decluttering So You Can Enjoy Social Media
This episode was prompted by watching The Social Dilemma on Netflix and starting to realise how much time I spend on social media without having purpose or getting any benefit from it. This is NOT a digital detox where I withdraw completely - this is just streamlining how I use social media so I can enjoy the benefits without the downsides or get pulled down any rabbit holes. I'm covering: Figuring out why you use social media and apps so you can get a grip on HOW you use it How to control your feeds for each platform to protect your mental wellbeing How to stop getting pulled into the 'recommendations rabbit hole' designed to keep you on the apps for hours This is a challenging and nuanced topic and I hope you find some value in this and get something you can apply to your own social media usage.

#013 - How To Create An Evening Routine
Setting up your evening routine is what gives you a good night's sleep and in turn gets you set up for your morning routine which in turn sets up your day, and allowed you to then follow an evening routine. #012 - How To Create A Morning Routine
My day sucks if I don't do a few basic habits in the morning. The morning routine can set you up for the day and start you on the right foot.  It's become more important as more of us work remotely and the lines between work and life get a bit blurred. I talk through my own morning routine, why I do what I do and some suggestions on how to create a morning routine that works for you. I also skim through what NOT to do.  If you have any questions or thoughts on starting your day the right way, hit me up! Website | Instagram | Tiktok

#011 - The Best Peanut Butter & Best Uses
One of my favourite foods in the world and I could've probably gone on for hours about this topic but I showed some restraint. Anyway I'm talking about peanut butter. The benefits of peanut butter. The negative effects of peanut butter. The best peanut butter brands. What does hi oleic peanut butter mean? What is powdered peanut butter? And the best peanut butter uses. #009 - I'm Not Ok
I don't notmally talk about myself much or what's going on in my life. But I've been feeling alone, isolated and a bit scared and it's not a great place to be mentally.  I just wanted to get it off my chest - what's happened to me, what I learned and what I'm doing about. It's awkward sharing stuff like this but if it even helps one person, its worth it. It's ok to not be ok.  And I'm not ok.  But I think I'm ok with that because I know I'll be ok again soon. #007 - All About Interval Training

I'm going to walk you through: Why HIIT does work Whether it's better than steady state training The 3 most common mistakes with HIIT How to do it the right way for you Also I do say HIIT Training twice in this episode.  I am fully aware saying HIIT Training is saying high intensity interval training training but it's just a habit now. #006 - 5 Ways To Keep Your Spirits Up This Winter
As it gets cold and dark and wet in the UK, it's normal for our moods to dip. #005 - Are Meal Replacement Shakes Worth It? Huel vs Myvegan Whole Fuel Blend vs Others
We all associate meal replacements with strict dieting and weight loss products. Not the best thing to be linked to. But the recent ones - that have more calories, a better balanced nutrition profile and don't promote themselves as a weight loss product - are a bit different. They promote themselves as a more convenient, cheaper, time saving way of still getting the fuel and nutrition your body need instead of as a way to starve yourself and end up losing weight. I look at some of the main ones in the UK (some I've tried and some I haven't) and whether they're worth it. Plus which is my favourite. Any questions, my inbox is always open: Instagram | Tiktok

#004 - Reviewing Fitness Apps - Peloton vs Centr vs Les Mills On Demand
Home fitness, on-demand fitness and apps have been getting bigger for a while. But with gyms forced to close internationally, we all had to adapt and it was time for these apps to shine. I've tried most of them and I've picked out 3 of the best known to compare. Peloton aren't just there for the expensive bike or treadmill. They have a pretty comprehensive app with all their classes on there too. Centr, founded by Chris Hemsworth has been hammering my Instagram feed too. And Les Mills On Demand - from the McDonald's of fitness, Les Mills. If you've ever done a class that starts with the word 'Body' like Bodypump, Bodycombat, Bodybalance, you've done their classes before. So I give you a run down of these 3 and what I like or dislike about each of them. Any questions, my inbox is always open: Instagram | Tiktok

#003 - Eating Disorders In Men & My Past Battles
Something super close to my own background and history that has shaped a lot of my life is eating disorders. It's not talked about in guys - it's usually seen as a "girls' thing" - but it happens. Some studies suggest as many as 20-25% of cases of eating disorders globally are in men. So I want to spend some time talking about it and this probably won't be the first time. I give you a brief overview of my own battles with bulimia, then orthorexia and then binge eating. I go through some specific stats on eating disorders in men and how under-reported it seems to be. And I finish off by recommending where you can get support if you're dealing with any of the issues discussed.
