Not Many of You Should Become Teachers

By Riley Dueck and Dave McFarland
Welcome to Not Many of You Should Become Teachers. We exist to engage ideas and practices around K-12 Faith and Learning through discourse and professional development.
19 - Tristan Weiss, Student Teacher
In this episode we interact with Tristan Weiss, a student teacher from Trinity Western University's School of Education who worked with Dave this semester in a high school context. Not only does Tristan work in multiple disciplines (physics and history!), he is also a graduate from a K-12 Christian schooling experience. Join Riley & Dave as they learn from Tristan about faith in the classroom and beyond and as they reflect on the "school they teach at" from someone who observed over the span of the past ten weeks.  Music by Josh Woodward (www.joshwoodward.com). 18 - Rachel Held Evans Tribute
Not Many of You Should Become Teachers,' is a podcast that explores the world of K-12 education as it intersects with Christian faith. In this episode we tribute the life and work of Rachel Held Evans. Rachel Held Evans was an author, mother, and co-creator of the Evolving Faith Conference. Her voice and work have been incredibly influential in both of Dave and Riley's lives. In addition, her books have heavily influenced the way both Dave and Riley teach Bible to students. Rachel was a skeptic, but never a cynic. She was fierce but filled with grace. We are grateful that her words in print will continue to resonate with more and more people. Check out her works "Searching for Sunday" or "Inspired." Continue to #prayforRHE, specifically for her family as they mourn. A lot of who we are as educators has been formed #becauseofRHE.
