Amanda started skiing whilst serving the military in 2007 and began competing internationally a year later. She underwent a knee operation in April 2013 before making her Olympic Winter Games debut at Sochi 2014. She is the second British female biathlete to compete at Olympic level following Emma Fowler at Turin 2006. "I’ve had a lot of injuries over the past years. One that springs to mind would be my Achilles in the summer.
