Are you the same person on social media as you are in real life?

Are you the same person on social media as you are in real life?

In the first episode of my podcast I begin with an introduction of my podcast. Social media is a big part of our daily lives as we spend so much of our time on it. We share our personal information with the world and we see personal details that others also share. However, most of the time people only show the good side of themselves on their social media, making others think that they are perfect with a perfect life. But is that really true? I am going to interview my friends in this podcast where we will establish if they are the same person on social media as they are in real life. In my first interview, I interviewed Mrs. O’Brien and after the interview, I established that Mrs. O’Brien is the same person on social media as she is in real life. Mrs. O’Brien shared details on how she is on her social media and I saw all similarities to how she is in real life. My next interview was with Adriana Hernandez where she explained in the podcast why social media is so important to her because it helps her feel close to her family. I have established that Adriana shows the same side of herself on social media as she is in real life because for her social media is a way to stay connected by posting her pictures and statuses about her life here in the US while her friends and family are in Mexico. At the end of my interview I end with a summary of how I felt about my topic. From the interview, I have established that people choose what side of themselves they want to show on their social media, whether or not if that's who they really are in real life. But you can never know what a person is truly like based off of what they show on their social media.
