Welcome back!

This week the bois are back and are more than happy to share their thoughts on some very different movies. Noah talks about Superman II and how Superman gives up his power and responsibility just to figure out that in actuality he is not able to and he must go back to his father and beg to be forgiven and to accept the role that is his. Elias talks about the much more recent film Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and how in that movie we see the protagonist, Edgin, as he tries to go and rescue his daughter as well as create a new found family and repair the broken relationships he has left behind him, just as how we hurt the people we care about with our own sin and hurt them even further by denying that sin in the first place.

This week Noah and Elias are back at their regular tomfoolery and have some interesting presentations for this week. Noah wants to talk about orphans, just in general; our culture has an obsession with them and from a religious perspective it makes sense when you consider that while not many people are orphans we do have a severed relationship with our heavenly father that we are all trying to restore. Elias talks about something a bit targeted and discusses Tangled and how just like her we are held captive by evil and are taught to shun the light and stay away from the truth of our own divine birthright.

This week is much like our others, but tomorrow is Halloween! We're not doing anything too crazy to celebrate, but we do have some good movies to talk about! Elias starts off this week with a classic, E.T., and how it shows many of Christ's traits and characteristics in the main character and their journey. Noah then jumps into talking about the year round classic of Harry Potter, specifically the Chamber of Secrets and how Harry has to accept that inherent to his nature he is a true Gryffindor, and nothing can change that.

This week Elias and Noah are once again silly as all get out, but when we are silly for all the right reasons it's ok. Elias talks about Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro and how one of the prevailing themes is that kindness always wins and prevails over evil. Noah on the other hand talks about The Goo Goo Dolls hit song Iris and how the lyrics in the song illustrate how we have pushed away from God and the peace that He has offered us just so we can actively choose sin so as to avoid being vulnerable with Him.

This week Elias and Noah get together and discuss Jesus with their trademark silliness. Elias talks about Charlotte's Web and how Charlotte saves Wilbur when, by his very nature, he is destined to die. Noah goes in an opposite direction though and talks about how in Sinbad, Proteus was willing to sacrifice himself to save his friend Sinbad and how in doing this Sinbad now has a moral obligation towards living a better life.

This week the bois are here to talk about, once again, vastly different movies. Elias is talking about Legally Blonde and how the pain of the sudden breakup and rejection despite her expectation for a proposal puts her on a really good life path and helps her to find her calling, similar to how Peter and the rest of the Disciples were expecting Jesus to be a Messiah on their terms and were able to serve him in spite of that. Noah on the other hand is talking about the Haunted Mansion movie and how Satan's lies are easy to see through once you can accept that you sometimes need to set aside your emotions and look at the situation you are placed in in an objective sense.

This week the bois are back and somehow they are both talking about anime! Elias starts us off and talks about the film The Wind Rises and how important it is to pursue your passions as you have been put here on earth for a reason. Noah on the other hand talks about Star Wars: Visions Season 2 Episode 6 and how the dancer in that episode is similar to God in that she throws away all possible safety in order to pursue her son and provide a way for them to be reunited.

This week, Noah and Elias once again discuss very different movies and endeavor to highlight their similarities in how they both point to Christ. It is a timeless tale, and you may wonder, how do they approach this task? Well, Noah talks about how throughout the film Indiana grows and changes not just by suffering, but by also witnessing suffering. Elias talks about the Korean film Parasite and how in that movie it shows that sin taints all of us equally, even as the characters worship other things and try to climb their social ladders that do not end up mattering by the end of the film.

Noah talks about the AI The Entity and how in order for it to be right about what you will do you have to believe that it has that power, just like the false gods we worship whereas God has power no matter what you believe. Elias on the other hand talks about Polar Express and how each of the main characters are each a different type of skeptic that culminates in them all truly believing when they can see Santa Claus.

Noah talks about the song Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Tears for Fears and how we have to step into the light and be cleansed by it instead of hiding from it. Elias on the other hand talks about Soul and how Joe Gardner has to learn the difference between a passion and a purpose, just like how we have a purpose in Christ but different passions.

Noah talks about Star Wars: Episode IX and how the contrast between General Hux and Rey are trying to defeat Kylo Ren highlights the difference between how the ways that the world and God tell us to deal with our enemies are completely different. Elias on the other hand talks about Hozier and how he has deified women in many of his songs because he is a human being and we all deify things in our lives.

This time Noah is talking about Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and how Indy's acceptance of him suddenly being made aware that he is a dad is like how we become made aware that we are children of God and assume that role. Elias on the other hand talks about Watchmen and how each character is trying to find God in their own way through the perceived moral greyness of their own world.

Hello friends, it's us again, the podcast that you are tuning into! The bois are back this week with their trademark silly take on everything that they see around them. Noah this week talks about the song The Impression that I Get and how the songwriter is talking about how he has not had to go through any hard trials in his life yet and how we are to face trials in order to glorify Christ to strengthen our faith. Elias on the other hand talks about Asteroid City and how simply being present with someone who is struggling is sometimes the best thing you can do for them.

Noah talks about Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and how Indy has learned how to approach the holy grail from the lessons in his father's journal, paralleling how our heavenly father has taught us through the Bible how to get closer to Him. Elias on the other hand talks about Super Mario Bros. (the game, not the movie) and how God always provides exactly what we need as we need it.

This week we are back with all the long winded shenanigans you have come to expect from us as we talk about pretty much anything that comes to our mind and tie it back to the gospel somehow. Both Noah and Elias talk about Spider-Man crossover events this time, but Noah talks about the finale to the 1994 Spider-Man show and Elias talks about Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Noah shows how the tribulations and hardships we face are necessary in making us the men or Spider-Men that we are supposed to be. Then Elias talks about how we often struggle against God and our own fate but still manage to find ourselves seemingly "stuck" in the exact plan that God always has for us because He is sovereign.

Noah this week talks about the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie and how the newly introduced character of the High Evolutionary is a very poor reflection of God because he does not know his creations or what their potential is. Elias on the other hand talks about Dead Space again and this time talks about how the character of Isaac Clarke is a good christian man who perseveres in the face of very overwhelming evil.

Hello everyone! This week Noah and Elias are back and have all kinds of fun talking chatting and getting the ball rolling on their respective feature presentations, normal stuff in this corner of the Podcast-Verse. Noah is excited to talk about Kingpin and Miles Morales' stories where he builds highlights how they contrast one another to talk about what it's like to be a grieving Christian in the face of losing a loved one. On the other hand we have Elias who is talking about Dead Space and what it looks like for us to all be unique as Christians even though we are also united by a common savior and have the Holy Spirit within all of us.

Elias talks about the world of the Last of Us and how the main characters reflect to us a much more self centered love than the one that Christ presents to us, while Jesus is willing to lose everything for us, Joel is too scared of that loss for it to mean anything. Noah on the other hand is presenting on the much sillier world of the Muppets and talks about how Walter must choose his priorities and turn away from the life he had known as a person to become the Muppet that he was always meant to be.

This week the bois are talking about two big budget action films and have a good time tying the word of God into it. That is, after all, our normal thing. Noah talks about Top Gun: Maverick and how God's primary goal is saving us, not defeating the Devil, sure that will happen, but just like with Maverick and Rooster, God's love is sacrificial. Elias on the other hand talks about the John Wick series and highlights how John is really not doing too great for himself. He gave up everything trying to leave his life of sin behind him, but when he gets pulled back into it he finds himself unable to truly escape its grasp, just like how we are unable to escape our lives of sin without the help of a loving God.

This week we have the bois engaging in their normal tomfoolery and shenanigans, but then again realistically that is part of the reason you are listening to us to begin with. Noah starts us off and is talking about Interstellar and how by God's own design we always have an open line of communication with Him just as Cooper left an open line of communication with his daughter to make sure that they can always talk and find one another. For a little juxtaposition, Elias chose a much goofier movie and decided to talk about Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and how we are all created with specific gifts to fit a specific role that God has laid out in advance for each and every one of us.

This week we have the bois back and as ready as they have ever been to dive into their wild silly times. Elias has been sick and ya know what, he is not in the mood to explain himself thank you very much. Alas, we are here though to dive right onto into our Feature Presentation and this week Noah is talking about The Mask of Zorro and how Zorro's (Antonio Banderas) relationship with his daughter mirrors our own relationship with God since we were both effectively stolen away from our true family and now instead of being forced back into the love our true Father has for us we are slowly shown how much He loves us and brought back into the family that way. Elias on the other hand talks about a much less profound film and discusses The Man from Toronto and how the profound hitman in the film (Woody Harrelson) has to teach Teddy (Kevin Hart) that his pride is misplaced and that really and truly he is a screw up and needs to learn to put his pride aside and just be honest about how he can never finish what he sets out to do just like how we must set aside our own pride to be able to start growing the fruits of the spirit and truly live out the lives Christ has laid out before us.

This week, like any other week, the bois are talking about some pretty weird stuff. The ice breaker lets them think about games they wish they never played, and from there they get into a book that spawned one of the greatest games of all time and a movie Elias wishes he had never seen.

This week Elias and Noah get together to discuss two very different movies, one we suggest watching and one we... uhhh, not so much. Either way though, we have a great time talking with one another and we hope you enjoy hearing our perspective on these things. Noah talks about Bruce Almighty and how very, very tiny we are compared to God and while we think we know what we need in truth we are called to submit our will and faithfully understand that God has our best interests at heart. Elias on the other hand talks about Love Actually and what love actually is, the film goes through many ideas and perspectives on love and the bois have fun breaking down where the movie points in the right direction and the many ways it points in the wrong way.

This week the bois are together to enjoy one another's company and tell you all about these cinematic masterpieces. One being the more recent and critically acclaimed Andor, the other being the older and much less critically acclaimed 2006 film Barnyard. Elias starts off by talking about Barnyard and how the main character's father models perfectly what it is to be a man and live a Christian life of self sacrifice. Noah on the other hand talks about Andor and how Kino parallels Christ in that neither of them survive the experience of encouraging us to escape our own "prisons" and rise to the occasion of making it even when there is only "one way out."

We get through an interesting ice breaker talking about the plagues of Egypt, but getting into the Feature Presentation Noah discusses how Miles Morales becomes Spider-Man and has to find his own way to be Spider-Man, similar to how we become Christians and still have to find our own way in the faith even as we grow closer to Christ. Elias on the other hand talks about How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days because he forgot when Valentine's Day was and talked about a rom com where a dude becomes a better person because he is trying to act like a better man than he actually is, just like how we imitate Christ and grow closer to Him in that way.

Hey everyone, glad you are still here and listening through all of our crazy shenanigans into 2023. Case in point, this week features two wacky movies. Noah talks about Groundhog Day and how Phil shows a progression from being kind of the worst to becoming a really good person who (like a Christian) realizes his own smallness and how important it is to be a good person not just to better himself, but to better the lives of others through genuine kindness. Then Elias talks about Curious George and how we have a true family in our brothers and sisters in Christ as in the film Mr. Bloomsbery is shown as closer to Ted (The Man in the Yellow Hat) than he is to his only son, Junior.

It's that time of the week yet again, so hello and we hope that you have a wonderful day! Elias and Noah are continuing to struggle to think of ice breakers, so please, if you have any ideas, send us a suggestion or two. With that being said though, after the ice breakers Noah jumps right into talking about his topic today and shows how the overarching story of the book, one of a king returning to defeat an attempted usurper, is a wonderful parallel that apparently Tolkien never intended to happen. Then Elias brings up the new Puss in Boots movie and how it doesn't matter when you find happiness because it is still just as valuable, just like how our salvation is just as valuable no matter when we find our way to Christ.

We are continuing into the new year by continuing with our content stream. Noah starts off by making the very important point that you are not the main character, just like Link in The Legend of Zelda, sure you are the protagonist of your own life, but God is the main character of every story. Elias then jumps in to talk about the new Avatar film and how it shows that while obviously every film and every parallel is going to fall short the family of the Sullys is still a wonderful picture of what a strong biblical family can look like.

It's a new year so of course we have to take a little break to get all caught up with life, but here we are and now we should be good to go to keep releasing content in 2023! To kick things off Elias goes first and jumps right into talking about Tenet, a fun time travel movie that really emphasizes how seeing the same thing through a different lens can reveal new information just like how God meets us where we are and radically changes our lives with new information. Then Noah talks about one last Christmas film with Violent Night and talks about the importance of believing what you can even if you just are not  able to make yourself believe in the entirety of Christianity... just like with christmas magic :)

We dive deeper into the Christmas season and we see that Noah is swinging full force and talking about Spirited, a modern retelling of A Christmas Carol and how Ryan Reynolds' character shows that true change is a daily struggle and not just a one time decision. Elias on the other hand is not quite so festive and talks about The Gilmore Girls and how Rory and Lorelai's relationship parallels our relationship to God and how we are always striving to be more like Him even in a broken world.

We are officially starting celebrate Christmas in Podcast Land all because Christmas is not necessarily in the air, but it is around the corner. Today Noah talks about The Little Drummer Boy, pulling out a cute message about how what we bring before God will always be enough to please Him. Elias on the other hand talks about feelings of isolation with your family and how Christ was also isolated but welcomes you into His heavenly family.

This week however we are getting together just to talk about normal non-holiday themed movies. Noah starts off the Feature Presentation talking about K-2SO and what free will actually means instead of just doing what your programming dictates. Then Elias talks about the new Knives Out movie and points out how it is foolish to surround yourself with bad people.

It's been exactly one week since Halloween for you all, but for us it has only been a day so there are plenty of adventures to catch up on. Noah definitely has spooky things on his mind and talks about Corpse Bride for his portion of the Feature Presentation, delving into the parallels of how we are the dead brides of Christ who could not be married to Him while He is alive and we are dead. Then Elias goes back to his shorts and talks about Paperman so he can discuss different responses to when God has an obvious plan and you cannot escape from His will.

Noah talks about being unreasonably skeptical in both Scooby Doo as well as how people approach Christianity. Elias brings up Kitbull to then bring up a conversation about how we as a church need to provide better support for those who have experienced trauma and abuse.

Once they wrap that up though and jump into the Feature Presentation it is the same biblical conversation you have come to expect as Noah discusses debt forgiveness from Christ and uses the recent federal student loan forgiveness as a way to explain. Elias then jumps in with another Pixar short as he talks about Presto and in fighting in the body of the church.

Elias is continuing to talk about shorts and this week talks about Boundin' and how we are called to remain joyous. Then Noah discusses Disney World and how even though it is "the happiest place on Earth" it still falls short of the glory of heaven because what we find there is so much more fulfilling than just being entertained all of the time.

Then Elias talks about the Pixar short The Blue Umbrella and talks about how important it is to always be kind and work in service to those around you.

Well hey guys, it's another week and another episode coming to you all. This week we have Elias talking about The Thing because he loves horror movies while Noah brings Indiana Jones to the table. Answering the old question of whether or not Indy even had to be present for Raiders of the Lost Ark and whether it matters, Noah points out that it definitely does matter because it was the right thing to do to stand up to actual Nazis. Elias on the other hand discusses The Thing and how there are people who masquerade as Christians without ever bearing fruit while some people are Christians but need a massive shakeup to their lives to start bearing fruit; you never know who is or isn't Christian but you are still called to love everyone.

The bois are here and this week they have a lot to talk about. Noah brings up a really interesting idea in Kung Fu Panda by discussing how the dragon warrior has this whole mythos and all of these expectations that are heaped upon him as this savior and messiah figure to the people he protects, just as Jesus had untrue expectations that were put on him, even though in truth he is to them just a regular guy whose role was never to live up to those expectations. Then Elias is back to talking about movies he is not the largest fan of by bringing up The Secret Life of Pets and how in this film we get a  great example of how forgiveness not only conquers all obstacles but also shows healing in such an outward way that it starts to transform other people's lives.

This week we are back to bring you the good stuff, as always. So Noah brings in The Princess Bride to talk about how even though Princess Buttercup does love Westley she does not go through the effort to seek him out, even as he has proved through his service of her that he loves her and is deserving of her pursuit; much like how God loves us and is deserving of our pursuit of Him even as we fail to do so. Elias then talks about Nope and how in the film evil is given a foot hold in people's lives as they try and make it into something they can exploit.

This week the bois are back and we are both talking about movies that neither has seen. Elias jumps in with Porco Rosso to discuss how a strange pig man throwing aside his humanity is an example to us as Christians who are called to put to death our old selves to live into our new reality. Then Noah discusses how the characters of Tiana and Naveen have to work together and learn from one another to have a complete and healthy biblical understanding of where the intersection of hard work and reliance on the spiritual is.

It has been a full week and the boys are together again to figure out an ice breaker at the last second and more importantly talk about their faith for a bit. So Elias starts off strong with a movie that he wishes he had a stronger opinion of than just, "I don't like it." Either way though, he discusses how in Ron's Gone Wrong there is a very strong thread to show how even in broken relationships the sanctity of our relationship to our father shows through as well as how it is imperative that we get that message out to the world. Then Noah talks about a much better film with Thor Love and Thunder, and points out how Jane's arc mirrors Thor in the first film and better reflects Christ in the sacrifice that she makes at the end of the film by sacrificing herself to save others.

This week Elias finally brings up a song and discusses something other than a movie so he's talking about George Ezra's song Budapest and the sacrificial love of Christ. While Noah sticks to his guns and talks about a movie, so his Feature Presentation is about Captain Phillips and how some people will continue down the wrong path even when they know that it is the most destructive path to follow.

For episode 101 Noah is talking about 101 Dalmations and after he finishes gushing about the animation he gets into discussing how the dalmations in 101 Dalmatians are found to be complacent in their circumstances. They find themselves captured and have to wait until someone comes to rescue them instead of doing anything about it by themselves; exactly like how we find ourselves dead in our sins until Christ sets us free. Elias on the other hand talks about Everything Everywhere All at Once to illustrate how God had infinite choices in front of Him and yet still chose to pursue us and shower us with His grace and love.
