Odd Birds & Outcasts: A podcast for and about teens
By Saleena Davidson
Teens are in a weird space; not adult, not child; lots of pressure with little power. School and society seem to push for everyone to march to the same beat, but many teens relish dancing to their own drummer. This podcast is for teens, to learn, to explore, to listen and speak about what matters to them. Saleena, YA Librarian at South Brunswick Public Library will lead/moderate/suggest discussions as needed.
I am not a therapist, but everyone goes through sad times, and quarantine isolation is getting to everyone. This is just some advice that I hope helps. Remember, it's ok to ask for help (going to a therapist isn't the end of the world or a shameful thing to do); and also that yes, you do matter. People care about you. I care about you (even if we've never met, because I'm sure you are an amazing person). Hang in there, it will get better.
The beginning of a conversation; the purpose of this podcast is to talk, to discuss things that are important to teens and how they feel about what is going on in their lives. Hard to do that alone in a house, and not being a teen; but I tried. Enjoy! Saleena
