Good news for adopted kids - like us. Drawing on a trio of texts - I John 3:1-3, John 1:12, and Ephesians 1:3-6, a special Father's Day message explores our relationship as adopted children to God the Father and Jesus Christ, the Father's only true son and our brother.
Pastor Mark Van Haitsma continues our series in 1 Peter on Being Peculiar People by drawing a through line to 1 Corinthians 13:13 - "And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love ... and the greatest of these is love.
For our message this Sunday, we return to our series on 1 Peter. In our passage for this week, Peter tells us that the Christian life is a mixture of great joy but also of grief. "In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials." How can we keep our joy from being overwhelmed by our grief?
Clarence Presley of Word of Truth Ministries International of Tukwilla returned to Olympia CRC to deliver a message on God's sovereign grace. Drawing from the text in 2 Samuel 9, Presley calls his message Dropped into Destiny.
In the first message of a new series Pastor Mark Van Haistma reminds us that 1 Peter provides a source of confidence and comfort for those who feel out of place. We can rest assured that God will Keep the church peculiar because that's who we are.
