Seed Plot (Part 2) The Royal Offer to Wed

Seed Plot (Part 2) The Royal Offer to Wed

As far back as I can remember, people have enjoyed fictional characters who would save the day. Who doesn't like a hero? When I consider world events nowadays, I think humanity could benefit from improved leadership. I am sure many around the globe share this feeling. Here's the thing: Humanity already does have its Super Hero. But since He's not a dictator. He invites individuals into His kingdom; He doesn't force His leadership on anyone.

Still, we have choices; the most important one we face is who we recognize as the ultimate authority over our lives. It's a question of headship; its impact is of paramount importance. Regardless of our choices, He is Preeminent and reigns above it all. Do you want to benefit from His Shepherding? Please join me in this 2 part study of Romans 5:12-21.

This is part 2.

Healing?

Healing?

Healing is part of salvation in the name of Jesus. Why has it become a difficult thing to understand for so many? Has God promised to heal all of His children? Why do life experiences differ from believer to believer? Does my level of faith affect God's desire to heal me? There are so many questions and so many great teachings out there! What is someone to believe? There are books on this topic by some great scholars, some with differing views from each other.

Let me share a perspective that I hope encourages those waiting for healing, those who can't think it's all about their level of faith, or those who are enduring long-term challenges. Can I suggest that there may be an eternal weight of glory that you have been trusted with? Is there something yet unseen that the Godhead is doing? I don't pretend to understand your situation, but I know God is good. His mercies are new every morning, and His love endures forever. So, friends, there is something more to come! You can trust His Word, so let's take a fresh look at it together. What do you say?

Can You Stand to Be Blessed?

Can You Stand to Be Blessed?

It seems everyone has their unique definition of what it means to be "blessed". While one's desires, perspective and attitude have much to do with a person's view of a blessing, the follower of Christ is to acquire definitions primarily from God's Word. In continuing the study of Romans, we find ourselves in Chapter 5 where the benefits of justification (or salvation) are listed. When deliberated, we recognize that God's intentions for our earthly lives have more to do with His eternal purposes than we readily perceive as we interact in time.

So, can you stand to be blessed the way the LORD wants to bless you? Are you willing to celebrate His eternal purposes? If you have a personal relationship with Christ, do you know why He called you?

My sincerest hope is that you will be both encouraged and challenged by this study. But as always, don't take my word for it. Please open your Bible and scrutinize this content. Pray that the Holy Spirit confirms His truth in your heart. Humans error, but He does not.

The Benevolent Covenant of Grace is His Binding Commitment (Part 2)

The Benevolent Covenant of Grace is His Binding Commitment (Part 2)

Do you know what falling from God's grace means?  Depending on how you have heard this term used, you might be really surprised!  In continuing with the study of Romans 4, we see how David was justified, and we understand why we are to sincerely repent when we sin.

This is a timely message for people who are struggling with faith, forgiveness, and devotion to the God of the Bible versus society's call to navigate away from Him.  Friends, in this study I found myself loving the persons of the Godhead even more and I pray we will all learn to trust the LORD more.

The Benevolent Covenant of Grace is His Binding Commitment

The Benevolent Covenant of Grace is His Binding Commitment

Have you ever worried about not measuring up to Heaven's entrance requirements?  Do you sometimes think God will turn you away?  Friends, you can never be good enough to secure your place in the Kingdom of God!  Father God has one requirement to be pardoned from sin, and that is faith alone!  Good news, isn't it?  But wait, define faith.  You might ask, "What do I have to have faith in?  Can I do something to have the right kind of faith?"

I'd like to share the best news ever!  God does all of the heavy lifting.  Listen up!  In this first half of this study on Romans 4,  I'll prove it from Genesis and back it up with New Testament Scripture

Then, you'll want to listen to the second half of the study in the next podcast because it just gets better. Forgiveness is available when you fail.  And, you will fail God's Holiness because no one living on the planet is perfect.  It's absolutely liberating! (If you answer God's call.)

Husbandry in the Vineyard

Husbandry in the Vineyard

The Husbandry of Jesus Christ is loving, caring, faithful, and trying.  In every growing relationship, there are times of deepening, stretching, rejoicing, and hopefully great conversations.  But what happens when things become stagnant?  Can a relationship with Jesus remain status quo?  What's the danger of being content with remaining where you are in your faith?

In this episode, we will consider the words of Jesus Christ from Luke 12 and 13.    I am so thankful the LORD provides His people with cautionary parables to help us understand how the Godhead sees our development.

Faithful are the Oracles of God

Faithful are the Oracles of God

How can a holy God dwell with sinful man?  If He must remain true to His righteousness, how can He forgive sin?  Since people who trust Him still experience trouble, is there a benefit to serving Him?  And, if most Jews don't believe Jesus was the Messiah, why should anyone?

There are so many questions out there AND the good news is God has answered them in Scripture!  Check out what God explained to a Jewish Roman Citizen who fully embraced the mysteries of God and lived an eternally rewarding life serving Jesus Christ.  This study of Romans 3 is rich with history and a good reminder of the faithfulness of God!

The Outcomes

The Outcomes

Why do so many people fear death?  Why do millions of people perform religious deeds?  Why are people conflicted over their desires?  Do we innately know that we will be held accountable for our actions (even the ones we thought were unseen)?  This study reviews the biblical text surrounding a moral person in light of God's perfection.  Can anyone be good enough?  Does the good outweigh the bad? Certainly, deeds count for something, don't they?

Let's dig into Romans 2 together and examine the cross-references to see what we can uncover.  There is always something the LORD wants to teach us as we grow from faith to faith.  There's good news ahead!

The Just

The Just

Have you ever struggled with your faith?  Have you been concerned with living a righteous life?  Do you sometimes doubt your salvation?

This study helps the person who has a deep desire to live a holy life and recognizes that they are incapable of living perfectly.  There is comfort in knowing that God's just declaration stands!  There is also a need to increase in righteousness.  For the person who has difficulty with the wrath of God, this study may help gain a new perspective.  For the person who sees this world is getting out of control, know that the just will live by faith to faith!

Ultimately, we are who God says we are.  Praise God!

Every believer should test what they hear and read against the Word of God, so I encourage you to grab your bible and examine Scripture for yourself.  You'd be amazed how effective reading it for yourself is!

Hope Again!

Hope Again!

It is time for whatever has been discouraging, that which has caused you to question, or held you back from pressing forward to be diminished in your sight.   Put on the lens of eternal love and see things differently!

Voices can be hushed, darkness can be pushed back.  Friends, don't let anyone or anything take your hope!  In fact, when someone tells you that it is over, this is precisely the believer's indicator that our future is getting closer!  So, don't just sit there and take it.  Complete whatever Divinely inspired goal has been impressed upon your heart.  Time is short and you must work while it is the day!  Come on; get up; shake it off!  It is time to HOPE AGAIN!

Freedom in Surrendering Accurate Accusations

Freedom in Surrendering Accurate Accusations

Forgiving those who offend is a sign of the Holy Spirit within a Christ follower.  As difficult as it may be, submitting the Holy Spirit's conviction and His illumination of God's love and redemptive plan through Christ will produce the fruit our Vinedresser expects to see.

The question is, do you feel you have a right to hold on to anger over those who have wronged you, the body of Christ, or even our Saviour?

Perhaps you want to move on and have peace with all of it but you struggle as I had.  This message is to help you think through it; to help you allow the healing Word of God to germinate in your heart and allow His love, grace, and mercy to blossom.  God bless you, dear heart.

Dress Code in Effect

Dress Code in Effect

Many venues and businesses have accommodated our desire for casual and comfortable by modifying their dress codes; others have no standard.  Did you know there is a strict dress code for Heaven?

We absolutely come as we are to receive Jesus!  We certainly don't need to dress to impress other believers.  But, believe the Scripture when it says, that we must have clean garments to be received by Him.  What does that mean?  Let's see what Scripture says.

The Plumbline

The Plumbline

What is truth?  Without being everywhere at all times, all-knowing, perfectly righteous, can anyone know what is true?  We pursue knowledge to make the best decisions we can; and sometimes, we don't care if something is the best, right or true.  Sometimes human beings just want what they want because of how it makes them feel.  If that is the case, are feeling right and true?  Can feelings lie to you?  How do you know what is true?

Friends, I have found the plumbline that has never failed me.  Have a listen to see if this also can apply to you.  If you have ears to hear, hear what the Word has to say.

His Way Is Truth and Humbles Me

His Way Is Truth and Humbles Me

Why are Christians saying there are multiple paths to God?  Can someone be a Christian and disagree with Christ? Or, can you believe what Christ taught but disagree with Scripture?  These questions are key for a believer so let's dig into the Word!   In the end, you'll have either confirmed your belief or will be in a better position to articulate whatever your belief is with clarity.

We may disagree with each other, but we should be able to explain why and be able to support it.  You see, I believe words matter.  Do you?

Scripture describes a cosmic struggle that has been going on since before earth's time began.  The war continues daily through battles in our lives. This podcast will explain the authority that a believer has through faith in Jesus Christ; and, how we can be assured of victory!  I found taking another look at Ephesians 6 refreshing especially when I viewed the Scripture from the balconies of eternity.  It helped me remember that we have already overcome.  We are merely walking it out in this thing that we call time.  I pray that you will be likewise encouraged.

Relationship Test

Relationship Test

What does it mean to imitate God?  What does God expect from us?  What on earth was God thinking when He created human relationships?

We can read Ephesians 5 quickly and miss the eternal love story that began for humanity back in the Garden of Eden.  Have you ever considered that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit initiated a plan to get a bride for Jesus and then sent then her to bridal boot camp to prepare herself? While she was preparing, the Groom was praying for her and preparing a place for her to dwell with him forever!  The best things are worth waiting for and working for.

While I have used modern colloquialism, I'd like to suggest to you that this is part of the unfolding story of the Bride of Christ.  Why not listen and consider what God's Word has told us.

Born to Run Against Horses

Born to Run Against Horses

It's a time of celebration across the world and people are busy making preparations.  Some will find themselves alone, and others will be gathering with others.  Regardless of what this season holds for a person, we are all taking part in an unfolding plan whether it's perceived or not.  Although many were waiting for this King's birth, only a few found Him at His birth.

We are told to stand fast while waiting for His return, but some are getting weary with well-doing.  Some are distracted; others are doing their best but are having trouble with the Church, religion, and loving people.  Here is the question:  "If racing against mere men makes you tired, how will you race against horses? If you stumble and fall on open ground, what will you do in the thickets …?

This podcast offers great hope while posing some sobering questions.  Will you be ready?  I pray we are!

What’s the Difference? (17 – 20 min)

What’s the Difference? (17 – 20 min)

After enjoying a study on the mystery of the dispensation of grace for the creation of the Church described by Paul in Ephesians 3, and having my imagination tickled by distinctions made by Christ concerning the kingdom of Heaven, it was a worthwhile endeavour to study further about these distinctions.  We see things only partially now; and, we experience life in four dimensions (length, width, depth, and time).  Yet, we know there are more dimensions that impact us. Physics (at this point) indicates more than 10 dimensions of our reality exist.

What if supernatural forces are influencing us?  What if this life is all about a power struggle? What if time is just a localized constraint for humanity to sort out kingdom allegiances?  Join me to find out what Scripture states about the kingdoms.  Perhaps, you will be inspired to go mining in God's Word about your future.

Most people enjoy solving a mystery, especially if it has some extraordinary surprises.  The Church, as defined by Christ and revealed to Paul in Ephesians 3, is really "out of this world!"  There may be a few eye-openers in this message, but it is only for those who will listen.

Ephesians 2 is wonderful to read.  Let me tell you; it's even more powerful when digging deeper to understand the historical context of the letter and hear Christ's impression of this Church.  The letter reaffirms the liberty believers have in Christ; and, causes us to reflect on what Christ might say about our faithfulness to the Holy Spirit.  If you want to be encouraged during these very challenging times, and you want to draw closer to the LORD, I believe God's Word to us in this message will accomplish what is needed!

The Fear of the LORD Manifests His Presence

The Fear of the LORD Manifests His Presence

The fear of the LORD is such a delightful pleasure!  It is the very quality that creates intimacy with the One who loves us the most.  Yet so many believers do not understand that the fear of the LORD produces the highest level of love and devotion.  It is one of the means to live a life of victory through the Holy Spirit.

What evidence exists to prove this is necessary for an intimate relationship with God?  What is your thoughtful estimation of God? So how does one develop the fear of the LORD?  Can one know God without it?

Family of God, perhaps after considering this topic, you will long to fear Him more than you enjoy His benefits.

Finishing Faithful & Fruitful

Finishing Faithful & Fruitful

It seems as though truth, justice, love and values are viewed differently by so many people.  It can be very challenging to know how to properly stand firm for the Christian faith while demonstrating love and compassion to those who do not share the same biblical values.  An outpouring of God's love from within us coupled with respect for all people is of paramount importance to our witness.  So is righteousness!  To cross the finish line faithfully and fruitfully, we cannot compromise what the Word of God says.

This blog will address all of this based on Scripture. It is better to be found acceptable of the LORD; our eternity depends on it!  Also, it is impossible to please all individuals.

Covenant Love Overcomes All

Covenant Love Overcomes All

Sometimes we can focus on the wrong questions.  Throughout Scripture, we are reminded to keep our eyes on the LORD.  This podcast is dedicated to any person who wrestles with fear over losing their salvation; or to the one who believes their free will can lead them into permanent destruction even if they have entered a covenant relationship with Him.  The question is not about the strength of a human being's free will.  The question is not whether the LORD permits choices (because He does).  The question is not about where you are in your development with Him (although we should be ever-growing).  The question is whether God has the power to keep His elect from falling.  The answer to this is in His character.

Let's take a look at both the Old and New Testaments to comprehend what His vow means.  It just wants to make me worship more!

This period of time has its challenges, and for the follower of Jesus Christ, this is the age of great opportunity.  The word "no" seems to be prevalent in this season of quick solutions, 30-character sound bites, abundant limitations, and pleasing the most vocal.  Scripture provides clear evidence that God, the unchanging Sovereign, has ordained a "Yes and Amen" over His purposes for our lives!  It's just a matter of time and trust.  So, who told you no?
