I had the privilege of learning from Kyle Gatchalian today. He currently works as someone who helps bring new technology innovations to other educators, and was a former special educator. He has a long of thoughts, We discuss meeting each learner where they are at, and how having a more comprehensively open school can robustly meet the needs of kids who need more attention. He uses an analogy of how in sports we place kids in their developmental cohort (varsity / junior varsity) but we arbitrarily keep kids in age cohorts.
