So the big question is how do we Entrepreneurs position ourselves in the right way to gain authority, display credibility and grow our businesses vertically? That's the question and the Operation BOLD Podcast is the answer. Hosted by entrepreneur, Ruth O'Neill, Operation BOLD's mission is to be transparent and provide actionable and tangible steps you can implement in your business today to grow forward and embrace your life BOLDLY.
As someone who craves organization and structure, believe it or not, when I started my podcast I had neither! I always came to each episode prepared and did a great interview but there was never any outline that I followed and that meant sometimes I never got around to making a certain point or asking a particular question.
After doing a bunch of off-the-cuff episodes I realized that in order to be the best host I can be and provide you with as much awesome content as possible, I needed to step up my game a bit.
I'd listened to many amazing podcasts and dissected what those hosts did in the episode to deliver a punch of great info, I watched YouTube videos and read blog posts. My goal was to learn as much as possible on what it takes to structure an EXCEPTIONAL podcast episode!
I created a process to help me stay organized and keep the episode on track during recording. It's really quite simple but so useful.
In this episode I explain my entire process and to help you become the best podcast host and episode planning BOSS I want to share my Trello board with you! Access it here: http://bit.ly/podcastepisodeplanner

Productivity has been a buzzword for a while. It’s a hot topic in business and entrepreneurship. But what is productivity exactly and how can we practice it?
The definition of productivity is “the effectiveness of productive effort, especially in industry, as measured in terms of the rate of output per unit of input.”
So in layman’s terms, being productive means having the ability to get more or better results without putting in more time or effort.
Many times as entrepreneurs, we get caught up in a vicious cycle where we think that the more we work the more progress we are going to make.
To learn more about productivity and how to implement it better in our own lives, I spoke with productivity expert Kris Ward.
In this interview we discussed all things pertaining to achieving a higher level or performance, getting more accomplished and having the life you love all while still growing your business and creating an impact.
Kris just released her new book, Win The Hour, Win The Day, and in this book she dives deep into helping you focus on the right things that move the needle forward in your business but without sacrificing your happiness or burning out.
I am all about finding more ways to be efficient and automate aspects in my business and as my team and business continues to grow there seems to be a never-ending list of things to do and projects that need my attention.
I know I am not alone in feeling like my to-do list governs my day! Kris cracked the code and told me to throw my to-do list out!
Here are three simple, yet effective steps you can take to produce more results while keeping your sanity:
- Choose only 3-4 (max) tasks that you need to accomplish that day.
- Block your time! Schedule your tasks in blocks of time.
- Do not attempt to multi-task. Eliminate distractions and focus on one task at a time.
Once you implement this simple system, watch as your results take off!

There is no magic pill for having success in your business. As entrepreneurs we know the importance of getting a coach, reading good books and studying successful people, surrounding ourselves with likeminded individuals and investing into our own education and all that good 'stuff'. But what actually moves the needle in YOUR business? No matter how much we study successful people, it comes down to implementing some of their advice in our own business and identifying if it works for us and our business model. We have to identify what works for us and sometimes it might not be something that works for someone else. If you find yourself plateauing in your business take a look at your habits and how you are showing up in your personal life and then look at your business habits. Is what you are doing right now working or not?
The way you view your failures will determine how successful you will be. Each time you fall short of a goal or don't make the progress that you want, use the lens of of growth and try to determine the lesson and learn that. You are not a failure when you fail, you are a learner!
I used to brag about being a great multitasker when in reality I was just great at being distracted and making tiny, itty bitty amounts progress. Focusing on ONE thing at a time has made so much difference in my business and enabled me to move the needle forward much faster.
Retired army surgeon and combat veteran, author, 2-time award-winning mobile app developer and mentor Janine Suvak joins me on the show as we discuss the importance of having systems and operations in place to grow forward and scale your business.

Yesterday, today, tomorrow - you are enough. As entrepreneurs we ride a rollercoaster every day; some days are great and we are powering ahead and other days we feel like we are literally free falling. It can be scary. It can be stressful. Every day is a struggle between feeling like a boss or experiencing limiting beliefs that we are not smart enough or worthy to take the next step in our business. We all have those days but just know YOU ARE ENOUGH right now as you are. You are worthy to take that next step.
JaLynn Prince is an American humanitarian, photographer, businesswoman and the president and founder of the Madison House Foundation. She joins me on the show as we discuss her mission to help adults with autism, families who have a loved one on the spectrum and to raise awareness concerning autism. "Lead with kindness", she says, "you never know what someone else is going through."
The more you focus on your mission and serving your audience the most your business will grow. So often we get caught up on trying to reach a certain revenue goal or attain a level of success that we lose sight of why we started and what our mission is. The more we focus on serving our audience the more our business will grow.
Are you the one holding yourself back? What stories are you telling yourself? Are they accurate or do they make you feel good and comfortable where you are? The words we use and the stories we tell ourselves are so important. Don't handicap yourself by telling yourself sugar-coated truths, own your life and BOSS up!
When babies start learning to walk we praise them immensely for the fact that they are trying whether or not they are succeeding. We praise them for the effort. Serial entrepreneur, Aaron Stewart, joins me on the show today to discuss the significance of praising the effort our employees and those around us are making. As we grow older, we get so caught up in reaching our goals that we forget to enjoy the journey and pat ourselves on the back for the continued effort we are putting in. While achieving certain outcomes are crucial to any business or in hitting any goal, we cannot disregard the fact that the effort being put in is more important. Constant effort results in an amazing outcome, just be patient!
Creating a good company culture goes much deeper than putting a few ping pong tables in the break room! Over the years, Claudio Toyama has helped countless businesses truly connect with their employees and create an environment where individuals are happy to get to work and feel their opinions are heard.
In life, business, relationships etc. we will go through seasons of growth and they will be painful and frustrating. It's unavoidable that we feel pain when we are growing. Have the right perspective and mindset will help us understand the negative triggers and help us create better outcomes. Embrace growth because that means something amazing is right around the corner.

Making money is great, but what is even better is making money with a purpose. After the initial excitement of financial freedom wears off, money looses it's charm. While some would argue that money makes you happy because you can buy whatever you want, money in general does not fulfill your soul. Aaron Cordovez, Amazon Selling King, talks about how making money is directly tied to your moral obligation to help your neighbor and make an impact in the lives of others.
Whether you are a full-blown entrepreneur, a wanna-be entrepreneur or an employee, we all want to feel like we have a purpose and are making a difference. These days the online world has glorified entrepreneurship and romanticized the idea of striking out on your own. The reality is that for some people that works but for others they don't have the freedom of "burning the boats". The question is, how do you find purpose as an employee when you have an entrepreneurial spirit? Andy Lin joins me in discussing how he helps individuals find their purpose and passion in their 9-5.

Have you ever been told you can't do something or achieve a particular goal? I think we all have and can relate to how that makes us feel. What's interesting though is that when we are told we can't do something we are not actually being told of our own limits but rather the limits of the person telling us. Whatever you want to achieve, the only limit you have is the limit in your mind-not the opinions or limits others put on you.
