Grab a cup of your favorite hot beverage and come listen to a bit of what I do for prepping to run DCC RPG.
My local group are helping out the Shudfolk in The Chained Coffin by Michael Curtis.
I'm prepping Brendan LaSalle's adventure, Came the Monsters of Midwinter.
What do you do to prep for running DCC RPG? Let me know at orderofshana@gmail.com
Episode #15 - Women want equality in RPGs - 1980
Judge HitMore and Judge JoanofArc Destroyer discuss an article from Dragon Magazine written in 1980. Women want equality and why not.
We give you our opinion on the article and what similarities we still see today in 2023.
Episode #14 RPG Coffee Time #1
What is on the wish list of ready for this DCC judge. Well, something that I've wanted to do for some time. If I don't start now, I will have more and more to come and the list will end up being too overwhelming for me. Just like Appendix N, the book list put together by Gary Gygax and what many of the modules published by Goodman Games take inspiration from.
Episode #13 Umerica "damn tasty" for Gary Con 2023
I talk about the 0-level funnel I will be running at Gary Con 2023 in March. It is an overview of the 0-level funnel and a few dice rolls for the random flavors one could encounter in a Go! Afterlife Bar. Play an undead and come to life at the end of the adventure.
Episode #12 A visit to Swordfish Island and Hot Springs Island using Dungeon Crawl Classic RPG
Judge JoanofArc Destroyer talks with Judge Marlene "HitMore" about her campaign setting using Swordfish Islands publication of The Dark of Hot Springs Island and A Field Guide to Hot Springs Island. Join us as we talk about what other DCC RPG rules we might use in the Swordfish Islands.
Episode #11: 3PP Thick Skull Adventures
This episode focuses on 3PP Thick Skull Adventures and the adventures of Stephen Newton. Grab your note pad and make note of all the works by this 3PP and those written for Goodman Games.

Episode 10: Table Manners
You will find that this episode needs better editing. I do all of it myself.
I do not want you to focus on that. What I want you to focus on is the passion I have for Inclusivity, Diversity, Stereotypes, and the "X" card.
I want you to hear my thoughts on how to include everyone in a TTRPG game. There are table manners, after all!
Use "being polite", "the Golden Rule", "please and thank you", etc. Just be kind.
It is never okay to poke fun at other players during the game. Don't be rude. Don't be cruel.
Episode #9 Interview with Judge Marlene "HitMore" after Gary Con 2022
Interview with Judge Marlene "HitMore" about her second Gary Con experience and first experience being a judge at an in-person gaming convention.

Episode 8.5 Part 2 Live Play of Who Lives in Grimsborough? Judge Jessica McDevitt
Our 'local' group gathers again on Zoom to play the second part of Judge Jessica McDevitt's "Who Lives in Grimsborough?" Jess then goes on to playtest it at Empire of the Cyclops Con hosted by Goodman Games. This was a virtual run con using a great platform - GatherTown. You will have a chance to gather in another Goodman Games online convention in 2022.
Using the Luck stat and the Deed die Episode 8
What is this about the use of the Luck stat that makes Dungeon Crawl Classics unique? Can the Luck stat be used in any way the player wants to use it? What about the Mighty Deeds of Arm and the Deed die? What is so confusing about when a Deed goes off and can using the Luck stat make the Mighty Deeds of Arm happen? Find out in this episode of Order of Shan(n)a Podcast.
Bonus episode! Who lives in Grimsborough? Part 1 Episode 7.5
Jessica McDevitt just doesn't judge this adventure, she is also the writer of this adventure!
Double the fun of women who run Dungeon Crawl Classics.
She judged our local group in a playtest prior to offering it as a game event at Goodman Games "Empire of the Cyclops Con".
I hear that the groups that played it at the online con had a great time.
I hope you enjoy this special bonus episode. And, now on to Part 2.
3PP Purple Pirate Games Episode 7
So, here we are with the fourth 3PP review and the third publisher with purple in its name. Learn why this publisher uses purple in the title. I contacted Purple Pirate Games to ask what they have published for DCC RPG and what may be coming in the future. You can contact Order of Shan(n)a Podcast at orderofshana@gmail.com or Twitter @of_shana
Bonus Episode! Your Special GO! Afterlife Bars - Umerican Level 1 adventure Episode 6.5
There have been several emails asking for live play. So, here is a sandboxed Umerican adventure as the Secret Door Games Tutu Parlor Players figure out the additional rules set for Dungeon Crawl Classis.
The adventurers are John as Cheese Whiz III; Greg as Solo; Jess as Coughing Hannibal; Jason as Henry Mortimer.
Having just come through the funnel Damn Tasty, the PCs now have a cargo truck full of Go! Afterlife Bars. Matter of fact, they have 20,706 Go! Bars. Solo, our petrol head has souped up the cargo truck with his undue knowledge of engines and scrap. With two scavengers on the team, there is always something to help fix things or build things. Cheese Whiz III and Coughing Hannibal are always looking around for items to pilfer. And Henry, well, he is our fossorian. Call him a varmint and he may just lick you hand. And then again, maybe not.
Enjoy this live play as we find out where the cargo truck loaded with Go! Afterlife Bars takes us. Visit City of Iow and enjoy some time at Sunken Flats Carnival.
Thanks for listening.
3PP Purple Duck Games Episode 6
I asked a few questions through email to Purple Duck Games. Purple Duck Games publishes the writings of Daniel J. Bishop, our Raven Crowking. I share what I've been doing in gaming and hope you would fill Shana's Satchel with some email questions and comments. I also apologize for some audio changes. I am testing out a podcast audio board in hopes to have some interviews and possible live play recording. Having not used a mixer board before, I have some curves to maneuver. Let's see if this old dog can learn new tricks. Thank you for listening to Order of Shan(n)a Podcast.
3PP: Shield of Faith Studios Episode 5
What is Umerica? It started out as Crawling Under a Broken Moon. Reid San Fillipo authored a fanzine and we now have a growing campaign setting for Dungeon Crawl Classics. Rumor has it that more Umerican goodness is coming in the future!
3rd Party Publisher: Purple Sorcerer Games Episode 4
Hey look! It's another episode. Finally! With months of trying to sift through an abundance of material for DCC RPG and having a heck of a time trying to decide what this episode was going to be, I went to social media and asked the question of what it is that you, the listener would like to hear. Well, here it is...the 3rd party publisher I came to know first. Hey, there are many 3rd party publishers out there for DCC RPG and they are all good. What I chose for this episode was the first 3rd party publisher that I became familiar with after being introduced to Goodman Games publications. Sit back and enjoy the long awaited episode.

Female Warriors and the Warrior Class: Episode 3
This episode looks at warriors and asks the questions as to whether other classes besides the wizard could use an ability score to gain a heftier blow. I'm definitely encouraging conversation on the mechanic of stat recovery.
