55. I've Left London & Quit My Job - So, What's Next?
I can't believe it's finally time to sit down and talk about something that has been months in the making.
Today is my last day at work, and I've moved out of my London apartment (and London itself) for good!
I'm divulging all the updates, what's happening and where I'm going in this latest episode.
Find me on Instagram @orlaghclaire or on YouTube, also @orlaghclaire.
54. My 8 Goals for 2024
I know it's February already, but 2024 only really started for me a week or so ago when I finally got back to London.
So I'm sharing my 8 goals for the year and going in-depth about why I want to achieve these things in the next 12 (11) months.
Like I mentioned in this episode, you can subscribe to my monthly email newsletter here: https://orlaghclaire.us19.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=43b8be1ea474298d897aecc71&id=52c95f8e3e

52. Am I Missing Out on My Youth?
It's a Saturday night and at 26 years of age, I'm sat at home watching TV.
Being honest, I couldn't be more content. But at times I do wonder, am I missing out on my youth? Should I be out drinking and partying with my friends?
Another new podcast episode, another new 20s dilemma.
51. Can Romanticising Everything Be Bad For You?
I'm guilty of romanticising the mundane things in my life. A lunch time walk, my commute to work, popping to the shops or sitting in a coffee shop with my laptop.
It's easy to snap a pic, pop some emojis in the frame, upload it to Instagram and make the task look wholesome and elevated.
But is doing this continuously actually a negative thing? And is being delulu even worse?
50. When is the 'Right Time'?
When is the 'right time' to move to the other side of the world, to start a new job, to buy a house, to settle down?
I'm having another quarter-life crisis and trying to figure out how to navigate being in my mid twenties.
Come along for the ride!
49. Does A Dream Job Exist?
I'm debating whether dream jobs actually exist and questioning whether what I think my dream job is, is actually my dream job.
Can you have a job that you love, or is a job just there to put food on the table and help pay the bills?
Join the discussion and let me know what you think over on Instagram @orlaghclaire or on YouTube @orlaghclaire
48. Where I've Been and Why I've Been MIA
I've been MIA for the month of May so thought I would give a little update on what's been happening and where I've been. And I'm also taking the title of this podcast quite literally and telling you about the trips I've been on since the start of 2023, so buckle up for some travel inspiration.

47. Chasing A Time and A Place and Why Liverpool Will Never Be the Same
My recent weekend in Liverpool was the inspiration for this episode. Is it time to leave places and memories in the past and no longer revisit? I'm talking Liverpool, Ireland, London and New York in this episode and how things change over time.
I'm also recapping my trip to Marrakech and giving you the down-low, as well as talking through my future trips I have coming up.

46. Turning 26 and Leaving My Mid-Twenties Behind
This podcast episode looks back at the year of 25 - what I experienced, what it taught me and what I'm bringing into 26. I'm looking forward to my next chapter and discussing what I expect 26 will bring me and what I'm hoping to get out of this next year around the sun.
As always, find me on Instagram @orlaghclaire, YouTube @orlaghclaire and Twitter @orlaghshanksPR.
45. Remember What I Said About Australia? I Might Be Taking It Back...
I had a lot of opinions about Australia a few months ago in episode 28, but this week I might be redacting some of those statements.
The more I see of Australia, the more it seems to be calling my name. But do I want to give up my career in London, the hustle and bustle of London, and the possibility of going back to New York, for life by the beach?
There's a lot of questions being asked on this podcast and if you listen, thanks for being my silent therapist.

43. The De-Influencer Will Probably Put Me Out of a Job, But I'm Here for It
There are now influencers on Instagram and TikTok that are telling you the things you don't need to buy and the trends that you shouldn't be following, just because it's constantly showing up on your For You page.
Do we need a $70 Stanley cup? The Dyson Air-Wrap? The mini Uggs?
The de-influencer might put me out of a job, but I'm in full support.

Welcome to another episode of The Orlagh Claire Podcast where I ramble about things I'm worried about and the things that keep me up at night. Today's internal crisis is around fashion and that I don't have my own style. What is my fashion aesthetic? Why do I always wear black clothing? Where is Gok Wan when you need him?

40. Lucky Girl Syndrome and How to be a 'Lucky Girl'
We touched on this previously in my 2023 Ethos episode, but I thought we could delve even deeper into this because it's something I've incorporated into my life for years and a mindset that has been incredibly beneficial to me and something I think everyone should instil in themselves.

38. My 2023 Ethos and Everything I'm Leaving Behind in 2022
We all know caffeine is something I'm leaving behind in 2022, but in this podcast episode, we get a little bit deep about 'the universe', being lucky, faith (not the religious type) and I chat all about my recent trip to New York.

37. My 2023 Goals Live from New York City
Welcome to season 3 of the podcast!! As is tradition, I'm starting off the new season and the new year with my goals for 2023.
'Less is more' is the theme for this year, and with less goals, we're going to be more consistent and show up a lot more. Here's a sneak peak of what I've got up my sleeve for 2023 and I'll have an in-depth blog post coming soon too to discuss in more detail.

36. What 2023 Has in Store
We're wrapping up season two of the podcast today with the last episode of 2022. So instead of looking back at the year that's just passed, we're looking forward to the new year in 2023 and what this has in store already.
There already big words flying around, big changes and big things to come and I'm hoping it's going to be my best year yet.

35. Assessing My 2022 Goals and How I've Failed 99% of Them
It's that time of the year again, to look back on the goals I laid out for myself in January 2022 and see how I've tracked. Well, to cut a long story short - I failed miserably.
In today's podcast episode, I go through each and every goal and see if any progress has been made or figure out where things went drastically wrong.

34. Is it Time to Leave the Big City for Small Town Life?
In today's episode, you'll hear me ranting about London for 21 minutes and 14 seconds. I've been thinking and talking about small town life for a while now and it's slowly but surely drawing me in.
While I love the hustle and bustle of a city, I just can't seem to love London in the slightest. I'm weighing up the pros and cons of city life vs a small town and talking about what 2023 has in store.

33. Will I Regret This in 10 Years?
We're talking ragrets in today's podcast and especially when it comes to posting on social media. The burning question on my mind is, at 25 am I too old to be on TikTok?
Come share your thoughts with me about time, energy, posting online and trying to live a life of no regrets.
Things get intense as I even drop an f-bomb for the first time on the podcast..

32. 2022, The Year of Travel: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
2022 really was the year of travel for me, starting off the year in New York, travelling to Paris, Berlin, Rome, Vienna, Barcelona, Greece, Bali, Copenhagen and some English, Welsh and Irish places in between, I sat down and deep dived into each trip - which was good, which was bad and which was a will-never-go-back-there.
I'm excited to end 2022 in New York, right back to where I started the year but in the meantime, if you need any travel inspo, hopefully I've got you covered.

31. Did I Give Myself A Heart Attack?
I had something of a heart 'episode' last week shall we say. And since this has probably been a long time coming, I took the time to sit down and think, maybe I'm the problem. Am I the drama? I'm discussing health/lifestyle changes I'm making, updating you on the state of my heart health and telling you why you're too blessed to be stressed.
So if you need some stress/life advice, then let this podcast be your reminder that nothing is worth sacrificing your health over. Take that from me, a Diet Coke and coffee addict who is now a week and a half caffeine free.
As always, find me on Instagram @orlaghclaire or on YouTube - Orlagh Claire Travel.
30. How to Take Control of Your Personal Brand
Ft. a little five minute update on life and about my recent trip to Bali. In this podcast I talk about personal brand, how we all have one without our own choosing, how to control the narrative of our personal brand and use it to our advantage.
I talk a little about my own personal brand and how this has changed in the last few years and why I don't want to be on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list.
As always, find me on Instagram @orlaghclaire, Twitter @orlaghshanksPR and YouTube at Orlagh Claire Travel.
29. My Girlboss Era is Over
If you've been following my blog for the last few years, you'll know that I was very much all about the Girlboss aesthetic. Thanks to Sophia Amoruso's book changing my life back when I was in university, I was so ready to be a CEO at 21 years of age.
But fast forward four years and I couldn't want anything less. I'm not in my Girlboss era anymore and in this podcast I talk about why that is, why the Girlboss title can be quite toxic and what my new goals and outlook on life are.
As always, you can find me on Instagram @orlaghclaire, Twitter @orlaghshanksPR and now on YouTube at Orlagh Claire Travel yeehaw!
28. Let's Talk Marriage, Babies and Moving to Australia
We're having a mini freak out as friends start to get engaged, talk about babies and move to the other side of the world. This of course has me thinking about my own life situation and where I'm at when it comes to these big life events.
It's a societal norm to get engaged, get married, have kids and buy a house. But what if those things aren't what I want? Can't it be an option to not get married, to not have kids, to keep renting forever? Basically, I want to stay 25 is what I'm really getting at.
And as usual, you can find me on Instagram @orlaghclaire, Twitter @orlaghshanksPR, my blog www.orlaghclaire.com and now also my YouTube channel where I'm posting travel vlogs
27. How to Deal With Wanting to Do and Be Everything At Once
Do you want to try your hand at everything on offer? Do you constantly think about changing career paths? Do you constantly take up new hobbies without letting old ones go? Do you feel guilty when you let those hobbies slip to the side for a while? Or is it just me?
This podcast discusses the irrational need to want to try every career path, live in every city in the world, have a hobby that's basically a full-time job alongside an actual full-time job and putting pressure on yourself for no reason in particular.
Perhaps it's just me, but it's a dilemma I've been going through for a while and at times I feel like my brain's going to implode. So if you sometimes feel like that, join me for the ride of this podcast.
As usual, you can reach me on Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and at www.orlaghclaire.com.
26. How to Make Friends in a Brand New City When You Feel Lonely as Hell
This episode was inspired by a message I received on Instagram about being lonely in London and how hard it is to make friends in a new city, especially in your 20s and especially when you don't know anyone.
So it inspired this podcast since I've been through this a few times in Liverpool, London, New York and once again, in London. So hear my sob stories, my own experiences and the tips that have helped me along the way.
And as usual, you can find me on Instagram @orlaghclaire, Twitter @orlaghshanksPR, my blog www.orlaghclaire.com and now also my YouTube channel where I'm posting travel vlogs.
25. I've Quit My Job... Again
Chaotic, I know. But do we expect anything less? If you want to find out why I've left another job, and where I'm off to next, then give this a listen.
As always, find me on Instagram @orlaghclaire, on my blog www.orlaghclaire.com or on Twitter @orlaghshanksPR.
24. Does Manifesting Work? (Yes, and Here's Why)
Is manifesting a load of nonsense and just for hippies? Well, that's what we're discovering in this week's episode of The Orlagh Claire Podcast. I delve into my first time trying to manifest, the goals that I've been able to achieve through manifesting and using visualisation, and why I owe everything to superwoman.
Do you say your goals out loud? Do you journal? Do you meditate? Do you ask the universe to deliver you opportunities?
We're getting very spiritual in this week's episode, but we're also saying that some of this stuff is just a load of crap. Let me know if you're a believer or fan on any of the above and tag me on Instagram @orlaghclaire.
You can find the Girl Boss Monday series I mentioned here, as well as my Blog, Pinterest and YouTube.
23. How to Get Out of a Rut and Get Motivated Again
These past few weeks I have been in such a funk, so unmotivated and tired 24/7. But not anymore. I basically recorded this podcast as some motivation to myself to get out of the rut and funk that I'm in, but I also hope that you find it useful too :)
I'm giving all the tips and tricks we need to get ourselves motivated and back on track for 2022 and back to smashing those goals sista. I mention my Pinterest in the podcast so here it is if you're intrigued.
Otherwise, find me on Instagram @orlaghclaire or on Twitter @orlaghshanksPR.
22. Discussing THAT Molly Mae Podcast (Friendships, Values, Money, and Gail Platt) with Tara Greene
In the most recent episode of The Orlagh Claire Podcast, I sat down with my best friend Tara Greene to talk about Molly Mae's thoughts on friendship. We delved into the Molly Mae podcast that aired on Diary of a CEO and discussed Molly Mae's attitude towards relationships, money, followers and striving for more.
Is it healthy? Is it normal? Are we being sexist for calling her out on her comments? Could Steven have stepped in and debated her opinions? Or was the backlash just a PR stunt by Steven's team before Dragon's Den aired?
We discuss all of this and more (yes, even Gail Platt) in this week's episode of The Orlagh Claire Podcast.
21. How to Get Over the Fear and Embarrassment of Putting Yourself Out There Online
Back in 2018 I wrote a blog post about this exact topic (which you can read here) and to be honest, it hasn't become any easier since. The blog post was randomly viewed quite a lot this week so I thought I would delve into the reasons why we are so fearful of putting ourselves out there online and why we hold back on doing the things we want to do.
I give my five tips on how to get over that fear and end up spouting out motivational quotes for 20 minutes, so if you need some motivation or a general kick up the ass, then look no further for you have found it.
As always, you can contact me on Twitter @orlaghshanksPR or via Instagram @orlaghclaire. You can also find more of my articles at www.orlaghclaire.com.
20. My 2022 Goals and Why New Year's is the Best Time of the Year
S2 Ep1: Hellooooo season 2!! God know's how we made it here but here we are. We're starting off 2022 and season 2 with a solo episode!! I know, who tf am I but I've made a commitment that I'm going to try and publish a podcast episode weekly and if I don't have a guest to bombard with questions, then I'm going to have to jump on the mic by myself.
So this is my first stab at a solo podcast and we can't start the new year without talking about new year goals and why New Year's is the best time of the year. So if you would like to hear all about my 2022 goals, how to make the most of your own goals and my whole morning, evening and night routine, sit down and strap yourself in for 30 minutes of me chatting in your ear.
I promise I'll talk slower next time.
I mention my email newsletter in the podcast, so you can find the sign-up link here.
As always, chat to me over on Instagram @orlaghclaire and Twitter @orlaghshankspr.
19. Switching Careers from Finance to Publishing and Talking Transferable Skills with Nick Siconolfi
We've had a few podcast episodes discussing career paths and career advice, but this is the first that we've had a podcast episode talking about switching careers into a completely different industry. This was an extremely interesting topic for me to ask questions on, especially as Nick has moved into the publishing industry (if you follow me on Instagram you'll know that I'm an avid reader).
Nick talked about his transferable skillset that enabled him to switch careers after working in finance for a while. Nick credits his international experience as a huge talking point on his CV and something that employers have always favoured.

18. How to Stand Out Amongst the Crowd as a PR Student with Richard Bailey
Richard Bailey has been running the PR Student Blog Awards since 2013. With the change in content output where students spend more time on social media apps like Instagram and TikTok, the Awards have had a change of direction this year, now being named the PR Student Creator Awards, meaning any piece of content you create online can be submitted for the competition on a weekly basis.
I spoke with Richard about his own career, why he started the competition and the winners over the years, why one would want to take part in the competition and all of the benefits it can give to someone not just winning, but just by taking part.
To find out more about the PR Student Creators Awards, visit @PR_Place and www.pracademy.co.uk.
17. How to Stand Out as the Best Applicant with Head of People at Inkling, Will Ellis
Who better to give advice on how to secure your most-wanted job role than someone that has been in the recruitment teams at Twitter, Google, Apple and UBS?
Will Ellis resides in San Francisco, USA but talks fondly of his international experience and the start to his career in recruitment in the UK through the Mountbatten Program. From his year in London, Will has went on to work for some of the biggest tech companies in Silicon Valley and is now Head of People at Inkling.
In this podcast, we discuss work experience, interview advice and most importantly, how to stand out amongst your peers and secure the job you've always wanted.
To learn more about the Mountbatten Program, visit www.mountbatten.org or follow on Instagram @mountbatten.i.
16. Living with Turner Syndrome with Rhiannon Gogarty
This is a very special episode of the Orlagh Claire Podcast as I sat down with Rhiannon Gogarty who talked to me about living with Turner Syndrome. As I had never before heard of Turner Syndrome, Rhiannon talked me through what this meant for her day to day life, her childhood and her future.
Turner Syndrome effects 1 in every 2,000 baby girls, yet isn't something that is widely known. Rhiannon shares her story of living with Turner Syndrome and wants to bring more awareness to it, as well as empowering others that have Turner Syndrome to help them live life to the fullest.

15. Growing up in the LGBTQIA+ Community in Northern Ireland with Adam Gracey
I recently spoke with Adam Gracey who is from my own hometown of Lurgan/Craigavon in Northern Ireland about growing up gay, coming out to his family and friends and the perceptions of the LGBTQIA+ community today. We also spoke about being from Northern Ireland and the backwardness of the political system in Northern Ireland in regards to same-sex marriage and rights for those in the LGBTQIA+ community.
This was a very special podcast for me to record, to really hear from Adam's perspective about being openly gay and bullied for this in school, but continuing to be proud of who he is by having a supportive family and circle of friends around him.
I hope you enjoy this podcast episode as much as I do, and you can send any comments/questions to myself at @orlaghclaire or to Adam at @always.adam_.
Check out more episodes and blog posts at www.orlaghclaire.com.
14. How to Progress in Your Career with Head of Marketing at the London Stock Exchange Group, Alexander Maidwell
I recently spoke with Alex Maidwell about his length of service at the London Stock Exchange Group and how he progressed from an entry role in New York City to leading a team of 20 as Head of Marketing.
Alex started his career as an intern on the Mountbatten Program in New York, the same program I partook in myself a few years ago. We chatted about similar experiences, how being in New York and networking can accelerate your career and the vast amount of friends for life you can make on the program.
To find out more about the Mountbatten Program, check out their Instagram or head to their website for more information and the application process.
13. Starting a Food Business During Lockdown with Aoibheann McCormack
Not many people would have the confidence to start a food business in the height of a pandemic, but after being furloughed from her corporate job, Aoibheann McCormack did just that. With a passion for chunky cookies, Aoibheann set out to build her Dumb Dough cookie business to bring the chunkiest and tastiest cookies to Liverpool.
As Aoibheann is a great friend of mine, it was more than a pleasure to sit down over Zoom and talk about her new business, how she got started and what spurred her on to take the leap into being her own boss.
We discussed many things including working for yourself and by yourself, plans for the future and the brains behind the operation.
As a frequent customer of Dumb Dough, I would highly recommend anyone living in Liverpool to try these insane cookies out. If you've never had a Levain cookie from New York, you may not ever have to after trying one of these.
Check out Dumb Dough on Instagram, @dumbdoughliverpool and order online at www.dumbdough.co.uk
12. Corporate Social Responsibility is Not Public Relations with Author, Sangeeta Waldron
In this episode of The Orlagh Claire Podcast, I sat down to chat with Sangeeta Waldron, author of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is Not Public Relations (PR).
As CSR comes more and more to the forefront of business policies, ethics and ways of working, we discussed how businesses should incorporate these policies because they want to and not because they feel this will return them great PR coverage.
We discuss different examples such as L'Oreal and The Body Shop, about recent documentaries and leaders that are bringing discussions to the public, encouraging the conversations around climate change, diversity and equality.
Investing in CSR and ESG (Economic and Social Governance) is becoming popular among the big corporations, but be wary of those that are doing it for the good of the company, the good of their image or for the good of the world.
CSR is Not PR is available to buy now from all major retailers, and you can stay up to date with Sangeeta on Twitter and LinkedIn.

11. Creating a Digital Magazine for Communications and PR Professionals with Orla Clancy
This week I am in conversation with Orla Clancy, a public relations and communications professional who created an online magazine in 2020 called Strategic Magazine. Now in its fourth edition, the Summer 2021 issue was just released last week and can be found here.
In our conversation, I asked Orla about her idea for the magazine, why there was a gap in the market and what exactly the magazine covers and discusses.
If you are a PR or communications professional, student or someone that is interested in this industry, then this is a great podcast for you!
To find out more about Strategic Magazine, visit the website at www.strategicmagazines.com or follow on social media via LinkedIn, Twitter or Instagram.
10. A Career in Radio, Loving Liverpool and a Growing Side Hustle with Sophie Princeton
In this week's episode of The Orlagh Claire Podcast, I am in conversation with Sophie Princeton, someone I have been following on social media for a very long time as she has always inspired me with her work ethic both inside and outside of the office. I've been so intrigued about Sophie's career in the radio industry and grill her on both this and the part of her career that led her to living in London for a while.
I get the low-down on why Sophie much prefers Liverpool to London (I can relate!) and how she juggles her full-time job alongside running Girls in Work, an online platform and community for women in the workplace.
To find out more about Sophie, you can follow her on Instagram @sophieprinceton, or find out more about Girls in Work at www.girlsinwork.com or check out their podcast, Girls in Work.
9. How to Create Attention-Grabbing Content with Carlijn Postma, Author of Binge Marketing
In the latest episode of The Orlagh Claire Podcast, I chat to Carlijn Postma, award-winning content marketer and author of Binge Marketing, a new book to hit our shelves discussing the concept of attention-grabbing content and looking to TV series that keep us hooked and wondering how we can transfer that addictiveness to our own brand content and marketing.
Binge marketing is a brand new concept to me, but one I think is going to be huge in the future as we look at video form taking over our content and attention spans, with short-term video the new go-to. How can brands keep their consumers and audiences gripped with the content they consume?
Find out more about Carlijn at carlijnpostma.com and to learn more about the book Binge Marketing, visit here or follow Carlijn on Twitter at @carlijnpostma.
8. Pursuing a PR Career in New York City with Stephanie O'Quigley
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of talking to Stephanie O'Quigley, someone I have followed on social media for a very long time. It was great to chat to Stephanie all about her career journey so far, going from Dublin to New York and working in PR and influencer marketing.
In this interview, we chatted about visas, the difficulty of making a life in America, apartment hunting and what it was like living in NYC during the peak of COVID-19 and the BLM marches and protests.
It was such an honour to chat to Stephanie as her career path has been a huge inspiration to me, and it was great to talk about a mutual passion for public relations and the Big Apple.
You can find Stephanie on social media at @stephanieoquigley and listen to her own podcast, The Wall on Spotify.
7. Highlighting Incredible Women in Marketing With Authors Giles Lury and Katy Mousinho
In my first #bookchat podcast episode, I was very lucky to sit down (virtually) with Giles Lury and Katy Mousinho, authors of the book Wonder Women: Inspiring Stories and Insightful Interviews with Women in Marketing.
I read the book last month as part of my Women's Month inspired reading and loved it. As a marketer myself only at the beginning of her career, it was great to read about so many mavericks in the industry that have gone before me and those who are making waves today.
The book details interviews with women like Edwina Dunn, creator of the Tesco Clubcard, and Brownie Wise who transformed the Tupperware brand.
The book is available in all major retailers and some independent bookstores, and can be found via Amazon here.
6. A Deep Dive Into the World of Influencer Marketing with Scott Guthrie
This week I was very lucky to be in conversation with influencer marketing expert, Scott Guthrie. Scott has been a mentor-of-sorts for myself over the past number of years and a fountain of knowledge and advice when it comes to influencer marketing.
I was very excited to get Scott on the podcast and to pick his brains and ask for his opinions on topics such as ads on social media, influencer houses, young people aspiring to be social media stars, the term 'influencer' and how the media portray influencers and a host of other influencer topics.
Scott has his own podcast, The Influencer Marketing Lab which is definitely worth checkin out if you are interested to learn and hear more, and you can find Scott on Twitter at @sabguthrie and online at sabguthrie.info.
