SVGSPN, S1E5 Round 22--Sion Hill FC v SV United, Awesome FC v Chelsea

The last round of the 2019-20 season saw SV United in a must win tussle. Win or get relegated. Awesome FC was in a similar relegation battle needing a point and an SV loss to stay in the premiership.

SVGSPN, S1E4, Round 21--System3 v Jebelle, Sion Hill v Hope

Hope Int'l has won the SVGPL. CONGRATULATIONS! Jebelle and System 3 are fighting for 2nd place. Sion Hill, Avenues, Awesome FC and Besco Pastures are playing to stay in the top division.

SVGSPN S1E2, Round 19--Hope v Predators, System3 v Sion Hill 

Hope is leading the Premier League. Predators are in 4th place coming off a 4-5 loss to System3 where the were leading 4-0 at the half. Sion Hill is playing with only 10 men... No More Long Balls Plz. After watching my first SVG Premier League games, the individual talent on the field, the level and organization of play, overall understanding of broader football concepts and players applying them to their specific teams appear nonexistent. TAYLOR MADE (Part 3 of 5): The 1995 St. Vincent & the Grenadines Mens Nat'l Team's Improbable Run to the 1996 Gold Cup (And Why It Hasn't Been Done Since)--No Weapons Formed... Coach Lenny Taylor returns to St. Vincent after making history with his young team. But instead of praise there's more pressure, more rumors and accusations laid against him and a grab for power from forces within the football federation. On top of that, one of the best players on the team has been hand picked by El Rei, Pele himself, to go to Brazilian club Santos. This is the culmination of the dream Lenny came to St. Vincent with in 1992. Develop players who can showcase themselves on a bigger stage, bringing ore eyes to SVG, more and more development. But some don't see it that way and make other plans, destroying possibility and promise. Lenny begins to last out, to defend himself in the media only to field more vitriol his way. And the team still has to get ready for the Windward Island Championships and the Gold Cup, while incorporating a new player no one knows about.

Following a successful Shell Cup tournament in the Cayman Islands, July 1995, the team returns to SVG. Before they get started on final preparations for the Gold Cup, we take a look some of the issues that plagued the federation and players from 1992-94, years where the standard on the field dropped and the administration was in turmoil. Money woes, hunger,  using wooden desks for beds while in camp, a player strike and a tragedy that made football a pariah in the business community, all reminders of why the Cayman triumph meant so much more than some may think.

TAYLOR MADE (Part 1 of 5): The 1995 St. Vincent & the Grenadines Mens Nat'l Team's Improbable Run to the 1996 Gold Cup (And Why It Hasn't Been Done Since)--1995 

In 1995, St. Vincent & the Grenadines became the smallest nation to ever qualify for a major FIFA tournament when they upset Cuba to claim a spot in the 1996 Gold Cup in the USA. In December 1995, SVG was also the smallest nation with the highest FIFA ranking (#95). At 100000 people, no professional football, no money from FIFA, no grassroots, no youth league, no player development plans, no int'l football history to draw upon, what made Coach Lenny Taylor think it was possible to turn a group of players--avg age 23--into world beaters. Took him a few years... but he kinda did. That 1995 int'l season was a footballing miracle that begs  to be heard.
