On today’s show, we sit down with Valerie Gray Beguin and Daniel Duback, founders of Fostering Dignity, to discuss how their non-profit partners with DCFS to provide backpacks rather than garbage bags, to youth being extracted from emergency situations at home. 

We discuss the need for their non-profit, the role of DCFS, the implications of funding and how lack of funding directly affects our youth as an “invisible population,” and the DCFS Investigator career (and post-career) experience.

We learn about starting, building and funding non-profits in Illinois. We talk about the importance of charitable organizations, grants, volunteering and charitable giving.
