Football and its Fanatic Fans

Football and its Fanatic Fans

‘Passion, Family, Tradition’ Last week, two friends and I sat down for an hour and attempted to piece apart ‘Football’ as a sport but most importantly as a culture. Football is everywhere. In the news, on our clothes and on most pieces of land scattered around the UK. This year, the World Cup took over our lives for the best part of the summer providing much needed entertainment through uncertain times. Bearing all of this in mind, I wanted to find out what it is about football that makes everyone so crazy. I started with a close friend of mine who is at the heart of the sport, Danny Loader. At the age of 18, he has already represented England a few times internationally and now plays professionally for Reading FC. Hearing first hand from him how football has contributed to his life, the challenge it provides for him to play to the best of his ability, as well as allowing him to travel around the world doing something he loves, highlighted how influential and powerful the sport can be. For Danny, football allows him to develop his physicality and mentality as well as building a family of friends who he trains and competes with.
