Cast the Net

Multiple times through the book of Acts Paul sets the example for mature Christians to follow in sharing the story of what Christ had done in his life.  Paul wasn't concerned about his personal safety or the various gods around him, he had 100% faith and assurance that Jesus was the way, the truth, and the light.  When was the last time you shared Jesus with someone? Join us as we discuss putting fear aside and sharing your faith.  

This week, we tackle the hard questions surrounding the passion we have as true followers of Christ.  Do you long to spend time in the word with the Lord, just as much as you long for [insert: money, a new car, a new phone, a career promotion, etc.]?  How much does our constant pursuit of "STUFF" get in the way of obedience to Jesus?  We pray you'll find encouragement in this week's discussion.

Jesus longs to hear from you.  Do you really believe that?  If you're married, what would your relationship be like if you only spent 15 seconds to 2 minutes a day speaking to your spouse?  Today we examine how important your prayer life should be in a strong Christian walk.  Too often, we don't have enough time to spend time in prayer.  We pray before meals, maybe before we go to bed, and sometimes on Sunday mornings.  Make a commitment today to make time, be still, and spend time sharing your heart with Jesus.  "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."-1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18

When was the last time you were surprised by something or someone?  Maybe it was a surprise birthday or anniversary celebration? In order to participate, you had to have full trust and faith that the person leading you to the party had your best interest in mind.  Today we talk about having full faith and trust in the Lord, even when things are not going in a direction that is comfortable, predictable, or sometimes even safe.  Will you surrender control and trust Him?

Webster's defines sacrifice as "an act of slaughtering an animal or person or surrendering a possession as an offering to God or to a divine or supernatural figure."  As followers of Christ we are called to be willing to give up whatever we have (time, property, treasure) for the sake of the gospel.  When you examine your walk with Jesus, what have you sacrificed?  Today we'll discuss humbling ourselves for the sake of others.
